Thanks to Fields, I don't think anybody can know what kind of coordinator Getsy can be. However, I get the impression that at least Getsy is a stand-up guy, he backed up Fields in public and never stabbed him in the back. Kingsbury is a confirmed snake...best that he slithers to Washington.

@@FatalSoap1 Not about fault, it's about the type of offense Getsy wanted to run and what he could run with Fields limitations. It's possible that Getsy was fired so they didn't have to fire Eberflus... saw the same thing happen with the Chargers last year when they fired the OC but kept Staley.

Great analysis on all points. The fact that Devontae knows his system (and flourished in it ) he can help get the other receivers up to speed on his offense. Like having another coach on the field
Getsy said that he was going to adapt to the Raiders style of offense (whatever that means, I think it means run first and often) I doubt that Devante is going to be happy, not getting the ball all the time.
He will still get his touches, he turned davante into a star in green bay
Thanks for the breakdown. When Getsy was announced as the oc some in Raider Nation were having complete meltdowns without having the man call one play. Give him a chance and see what happens.
All you have to do is watch the bears lowlights . That tells you what offense we are getting. Actually it’ll get a lot worse than last year for us , because a major part of the success he had in chicago was due to having a QB that couldn’t throw the ball to save his life, but got a ton of yards on the ground. Remove that from the offensive stats and his offense is dead. He won’t have a running QB at Vegas, this move makes no sense at all.

The bears had a bad oline too. Not saying he'll be good or great but oline problems, qb who is behind on development and a head coach wanting you to coach a certain way are going to have an affect. Pat Graham didn't look to good in New York or under McDaniels either. Got with the right coach and turned it around.

I think you forget that Rodgers and Adams also praised Nathanal Hackett and we’ve all seen how he’s done calling plays. Bottom line is that Getsy and Hackett had it easy because they had a excellent HC/Playcaller and Aaron Rodgers but when they had to do it on they own it’s been bad.
Ya I think he’s right that the reaction to kingbury was a bit silly everyone acting like he got/lost the greatest coach of all time, but I still am iffy on getsy, being rodgers “passing coordinator” doesn’t impress me, a golden retriever could do that job.

I've been telling people, for the past four days, that we dodged a bullet when Kingsburry backed out. The hire made no sense at all! There's nothing about the air raid system that fits the Raiders personnel. We're already built for a west coast/RPO offense.
AP wants to pound the rock and go vertical. Air Raid doesn't do either of those well. I have a suspicion that someone in Henderson was having some buyers remorse ("what the hell are we doing?") and sabotaged the contract talks!
Okay, maybe not, but it sure makes the optics look better.😁

Here’s something that we need to know about Getsy: when the Chiefs beat the Eagles in the past SB, in the 4th quarter, Andy Reid resorted to plays that KC hadn’t used all season. But they were plays Green Bay had used previously with Davante Adams!
Getsy can design a dynamic offense. He believes in running the football and the Raiders will do it. His play design got receivers open. Just because Fields can’t spot open guys or get the ball to them doesn’t make it Getsy’s fault.

I feel you on this brother. Getsy wasn't my first choice. I wasn't opposed to grabbing a young up and coming QB coach or assistant and would have probably preferred Kubiak but I was never excited about Kingsbury, so I do think Getsy is getting a raw deal by the media and the fans and I also think he is a better fit for The Raider Way .

You are so right! I watched some film on Getsy and there are plays where receivers are wide open and are sure TDs if Fields would just throw to them. Instead he throws a check down or takes off running for a loss or takes a sack. It is why I cringe when Raider fans want to trade for Fields. I DON'T!!! He;s another Terrell Pryor, can run like the wind but is inaccurate in his passing and just doesn't have the football IQ to be a great player. In a Getsy offense O'Connell would do better than Fields. After watching that film I realized Getsy is FAR better than Kingsbury and will fit the Raiders far better. As for Kingsbury, let me be clear, I was dead set against him as our next OC. NFL coaches sometimes take a year or two to adjust to a scheme and that's exactly what happened. I feel much more comfortable with Getsy.
Thanks for the 411. I was only big on Kliff because every youtube video was saying how much of a genius he is and how smart the Raiders were for getting the man. I also don't buy the hype around Caleb. He lost against every rank team he faced in 23.

I remember when the Raiders played the Cardinals in Kingsbury's first season and the team was laughing at his offense and pretty much shut it down. I know it was preseason but still to openly mock his offensive scheme should tell you all you need to know. I don't know what the plan is at QB so I will trust the process and especially Pierce in his decisions.
lol-I am not a Fields fan-but as Bears fan I will tell you that Getsy was the problem. His in game adjustments and horrible calls on critical plays showed he was outsmarted a lot-you will see Raider fan. I appreciate trying to see the positives in Getsy because you want your team to win-bears fans started that way also-but he is not good. Best of luck and glad he is not on the bears….

I work at a casino in Vegas and he played on a BJ game in the Baccarat room last Saturday night, talked a little bit, a real nice guy and down to earth. He'd be a great fit with our new O.C. and has the hair like Stabler!
I could hear more details about Mississippi State. As I understand it, Luke's offense averaged 379 yards per game against SEC competition.

There were dudes wide open and grass only to the end zone. And he would get sacked. I’m pretty sure dude is familiar with Adams, and will help whoever we get as QB.
