When Andrew was showing lunch I was waiting for him to say it was kale fed chicken today lol! One time we had a steer get loose and eat dozens of trays of hot pepper plants on a wagon outside of one of our green houses. As mad as we were, we couldn't help but laugh because for hours afterwards he just lay on the ground and moaned. He never bothered our plants again!
Grampa....you have to be very proud of your boys. They are such hard workers. And there are no slackers in the group. You have trained them well. So now you have Callie to train. She is so cute.
Callie gets better with each video. Just love it when she says “and girls”. It’s amazing to see the green houses so full of beautiful plants. Just a couple of months ago they were full of calves. I never realized how multipurpose a green house could be. Those chickens that found their way into the greenhouse must have thought they died and went to heaven with that abundance of fresh greens. 😮
Callie is becoming the OG for her part of greeting and saying goodbye in the Veggie Boys vids. I watch a few other channels and they are working to get their little ones to say bye in their videos. Veggie Boys channel is the OG overall. No need to apologize. I look forward to watching any chance I get!
I get such a kick out of Callie being such a big part of the opening now. I have to rewind and watch the opening a few times!! She is so darling and growing up before our eyes!

Central Texas here. Tomatoes already putting on fruit, peppers too. Potatoes coming on strong, beans up, onions doing well too. Squash doing its thing. All in all, so far so good. Already getting warm..dreading the summer.

I think I might make a screen door or a chicken wire gate to put across the front of that green house so they couldn't get in even if someone left the gate open. I feel for ya. This is a constant battle at our house. Our chickens are always trying to get into our garden to do the same thing.
You can trim wing feathers on one side of the chicken to unbalance them, but some escape artists will get out of 12 feet of fencing! And now they've had a taste of the yummy plants they will want more.
Ahh Basil. In February I wanted a little fresh basil for caprese salad. I bought one of those little kitchen window herb plants from the produce department, but after a few days it started to look pretty bad. Time to transplant! There were about 15 little plants stuffed in that tiny pot! So I've been forcing basil plants onto everyone I know. Ooo, I see little seedlings on the ground. You could tell the chickens were up to no good in the last video when they were circling around Andrew. And now they've attacked the sprouts. 🌱🐔🌱🐔🌱🐔
Sorry for the setback with the chicken damage, but you've done a great job extending the chicken wire to prevent any more losses. (Not sure if it was 2022 or 2021 when the calves escaped and caused so much damage. That was much worse - probably because they are a lot bigger). Sending prayers to your family from my household in Michigan.

if you can manage to resecure the plugs and then fertigate, I'm honestly very confident that the plants like the savoy cabbage (at minute 8) will recover just fine as they get onto their next leaf set
Callie gets older and older so fast! you blink and kids are grown. thats what happened to mine. Boy, those chickens got on the farm’s naughty list…very frustrating considering all the work y’all had put into the plants🤨! Callie is one of the girls now🤗. She’s so adorable😘.
Glad you got the naughty but natural hens corralled and won't have any repeats. Sad but it happens where the chickens escape and get into ground-planted gardens (has happened to us once long ago when we had a small flock on small suburban acreage). Glad your fertilizer got spread and oh Kudos to the Cook(s) on your tasty-looking lunch. Grammy and family do a great job with your family's meals! Your area was warmer than we were here in the Upper Mohave Desert here in AZ! Wow!
Just a suggestion. You might want to replace the carpet with new flooding in your store, there are several trip hazards with the old carpet. A light color tile would brighten your store.😊
I sympathise with the cabbages. I had a problem a squirrel on my broccoli. Then I manage to knock a tray on the floor though that one I managed to retrieve most of the plants. But the squirrel also ate quite a few beans and peas. For me the biggest problem was the broccoli because they were bigger plants and were ready for planting outside. Nice to see lots of cars in the car park, hopefully lots of people buying stuff.
We've been in the low to mid 80's here in Michigan for a few days. Unfortunately, the highs will be back down in the 40's Monday and snow is in the forecast. Oh well. I can watch you guys planting and transplanting seedlings and dream of spring.

We have one hen... We call her Rogue one... She goes in and out of pens. Pens with tops don't even slow her down. Wicked smart. I think I love her!😊

You all should get an automatic vacuum (Roombe, etc.) and run it at night. Would save you lots of work.
