Is it accepted that James son of Alpheus is the same person as the James brother of our lord (and bishop of Jerusalem, who wrote the epistle of james)?
I dont think the Bible says about James Alphaeus and Mathew are brothers. Ref Matthew 10:2-4 - These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John; 3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

@@13thChip they could have been brothers. I see no reason why that couldn’t be the case.
