When you look at a paint formula you know if it's going to be a transparent color or not. If you extract the toners in the formula that give coverage and mix separate for a ground coat it saves time and money. Also, reduce possible issues with excessive base coat build and/or improper flash times. Improperly flashed base makes the clear dull or hazy.
