Women Who Groove at the Women's Drum Center Annual concert 2023

Women Who Groove focus on West African music - traditional and modern. Their first song is their own version of Waka, a popular modern piece that pokes a little fun at Ghanaians who traveled to Europe and adopted "airs". The gestures mimic the haughty behavior of those travelers. The second piece comes from the Ewe people of Ghana and Togo - Borborbor is played on Kpanlogos.
