Alright! That’s it! I had it with this family! I can’t take it anymore! You’re now called the Ness Family! The SweetNess, The AdorableNess, The KindNess, ThoughtfulNess, BeautifulNess of ALL of you only to see it’s multigenerational to! Bing Bing, Hollis, Nancy, Samantha and the rest of the family... it’s so wonderful to know there’s still people like you on this Earth. Thank you for sharing and allowing us to follow along in your journeys. Blessing to you & yours
Oh my!!! your daughter is so gorgeous!! My goodness, she’s a stunner! And, those collards greens look heavenly! I was amazed at your putting a whole little fish in the hole before planting the collards. I’ve heard of putting down fish emulsion, but never a whole fish. I’m sure that’s part of the reason they are so big and beautiful. I so enjoy your videos from start to finish. You have given me wonderful information about container planting, which is what I do. I’m so excited to try some of your techniques! Blessings to you and Nancy always! ♥️❣️♥️🙏🏼♥️❣️
This was extra nice because we got to meet your beautiful daughter Samantha, and get your recipe for collard greens. They were some healthy-looking collard plants. I appreciate your efforts, your methods, your engineering, your clever ideas, and the fact that you share them with us. Good health and happiness to you, Nancy, and everyone else you love; hugs and kissies for Bing Bing.
This was beautiful ❤️. God bless you and your family. Your bond with your daughter made me melt. First time gardener and I just start my seeds last week with my daughter and we are so amazed at their growth thus far. We could literally live off of a collard greens and cornbread diet if it came to it so growing them ourselves is only right 😂☺️. Thank you for sharing!! Amazing video. Glory to the Most High❣️
My mama made cornbread dumplings in her greens sometimes when I was growing up. I loved them and thought when she did that it was a special treat for us. I found out many years later as an adult that it was because it was when she didn’t have enough supplies to make a whole pan of cornbread for the family. There was seven kids. That actually made them more special to me because I never realized or thought of us as poor. 👩🌾💛☀️
This is one of my favorite videos! You remind me of my daddy. He was my hero. Daddy was a tough, hard working, Godly man. He treated me and Mama with tender love and care. At the same time, he protected us like a roaring lion. I realize my statement sounds a bit dramatic; however, that's how I felt as a child. I'm about your age now. It's so nice to see that GOOD men still exist! God bless you and your family!!
Hollis, your daughter is adorable. So sweet. You look so proud and so happy. What an accomplishment -- to raise a daughter and to grow your own food and then to feed your daughter with the food you have grown and prepared. Enjoy your life and your family.
If you cook the collards with smoked turkey wings and smoked turkey necks, a pot of white rice, that's a good meal for a couple of days. And don't forget to bake a pan of cornbread. It's just great.
It has been a while since I saw your show. I love your new Florida homestead and gardens. You and Nancy are hard working people and it shows in every way. I love everything about it. Your love and devotion to God and each other is precious. Your Bing Bing is a faithful and darling companion too. I saw your daughter for the first time today and she is a beautiful young lady. Y'all have a beautiful life and I hope you have many more years to enjoy it.
Thank you so much for all the time, attention and dedication you give to your subscribers by putting so much detail in your videos. We thank you and validate/appreciate all you do for us! 🥬💚🙏🏻✝️
Yup your are definitely a Floridian. My ex mother in law is from Florida and she taught me how to devein the collards and cut them just like that!!! Really enjoy your videos!!!
I really appreciate how much time you take to make videos from seed to harvest. It's very helpful. Your daughter is beautiful. I see how much you light up when she's around. It made my heart happy 😊.
The music is 👍 great. I've got 3 bunches in ground now in zone 7b. I don't have blood meal but I'm putting water from my fish tank on them. Hope they grow like that. 🙏 God bless you and your family.
I absolutely love your channel. Thank you so much for sharing all of your knowledge on gardening. I have learned so much from you. God Bless you, Nancy, Bing Bing and your family.
Hey Hollis, I appreciate you and Nancy’s efforts to give your knowledge to those looking for knowledge and success in growing food. I saw your growing collards presentation. My question is l, what are your methods of pest control? Your collards are outstanding!
I loved collard greens cooked just like you made them! My granny used to make them for me years ago. She has passed but now I make them during fall/winter and think of her! Good comfort food. Enjoyed this video and your daughter is beautiful !!
Suggestion to simplify the cook / prep process. Once you take the stems out, make stacks instead of doing one at a time, then roll and cut them. You can get way more done at one time. (So cute you turned red from your daughters compliment! Love it.)
So nice of Daddy Hollis to make his daughter to a special treat! The collard plants looked fantastic! Thanks for the prep tip on the leaves. It all looked YUM!
Samantha them greens looks very tasty are you sharing 😂😂😂 Hollis again I thank God for your patience of taking time out of your busy schedule to educate us on how to plant our own homestead or garden, I appreciate the Prayer and Scriptures after.Nancy thanks so much for strength to continue to post on a regular and teaching how to make certain meals. Y'all our in my Prayers daily... GOD BLESS Y'ALL DAILY ❤💯
Well, bless the Lord and give Him praise in all things! You got it whipped brother, a beautiful daughter child….reminds me of mine, a fine garden and the love of God in your heart and home.
Dear Hollis and Nancy I have anemia and taking iron tablets by the time it goes through my digestive system I have lost a large portion of the total medication. Therefore I have been eating greens mustard, collards and turnip greens for many years this helps my iron. Since living in the State of Washington finding turnip greens is hard and sometimes I cant find mustard greens I just got used to eating collards by themselves and it works great for me. Over the years the collard greens became more expensive for a bunch and then the producers started putting very little greens to make a bunch. I started buying collard greens by the case at the grocery store and they too have cut down the bunches so small at a higher price by the time I picked them washed them it only gave us a small amount. My husband planted collard green in our yard however those white flies and other bugs eat large holes until we lost our greens. Secondly, the moles are digging under our garden they were killing the roots and we lost all of our greens. I would like to know if Hollis and Nancy would sell us a couple cases of collard greens so I could at least put some in the freezer. We are born again Christians we love the Lord with our whole being. We just cant find anywhere we can buy collard greens that are full the stores sell small bunches at a higher price per bunch. If anyone out there can direct me where to buy good bunches of collard greens at a reasonable price please let me know thank you and may the Lord bless you. Cody
I love collards every since I saw how you strip and clean your collards I do the same and its very easy .thanks again for sharing thank mrs.nancy I love you guys very much ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊😊🙌🙌🙌🙌🤲🤲🤲🤲
Enjoyed your video on how to grow and harvest and cook your collard greens and your daughter is such a sweet young lady I am glad you were able to share a pot of collard greens with her
Another great video, start to finish, THIS time with a prep, cook, and "TOTALLY unbiased" taste test tossed in❗❗❗ 😋😋😋 Greetings from Maine Samantha TYFS, Stay Safe and Well Mark and Rosa
Hard to believe I grew up eating only grocery store iceberg lettuce...now growing many different greens and loving them all. Thank you for the complete information you give so generously. You both are so inspiring - preaching and living the Gospel. 😊
That garden is absolutely beautiful!!! I’ve never had collard greens 🥬 before. I have a garden every single year. I really like 👍 how your process of seed germination etc . I like your wood ruler 📏 to measure out where to put the plants 🌱 to grow.
I cook down a big ham hock in chicken broth, add onion, red pepper flakes, garlic salt, black pepper, and sugar, pull the hock out, chop up good, add back in, then put the greens in to cook. 😋
I appreciate that you mention the specific varieties you plant and the source. I planted some Watermelon Radish using my DIY seed template, both inspired by your videos. These collards sounds super yummy... With bacon or ham of course. Everything is better with bacon. 😀 Thank you! Thank you! ❤️
Finally learned HOW to cook those leaves! I'm from up north and now I will grow them with pleasure. Heard they contain vitamin K a rare vitamin. Thank you kindly, sir. Love what you do and how you organized your garden. Just beautiful. God is so good!
Always love your vids since VA!! I got some in the ground now in NJ that I will overwinter because last year they turned out fantastic so this year I planted 30 of them!!!
I take my collard leaves and lay them out, I then take a cabbage knife and run it down each side of the stem. Then I press the knife on the stem about one third from the end and pull the stem out. I put another leaf on top of the first and cut that stem out. After four or five leaves I fold and roll them but then I cut down the length of the roll. This makes short strips when I cut the rings. Easier to cook and eat. I am your age and have the bad back. I have a small tractor to till and cultivate. I use 38 inch rows, that is the wheel centers on my tractor. Your tips on ringing onions were good, as were how to dry them.
Hollis i think this was great to see how Father and Daughter can share God blessing together you did the planting and the Lord give you a bountiful harvest.
Two thumbs up for the patience in waiting for everything to grow and releasing as a single video. :) Looks great!
Much appreciated!
He's the best teacher, I have come across!
