- Step into the past with this all-original 1972 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser owned by Bryan Lacy from Oklahoma. With just 43,000 original miles, this beauty features its factory 455 Rocket V8 engine, which has never been apart. From its sleek yellow finish with genuine imitation wood to its timeless brown interior, this Vista Cruiser is a true testament to Oldsmobile's craftsmanship.
The second-generation Vista Cruiser (1968-1972) was part of GM's iconic A-body platform, boasting features like a 121-inch wheelbase, a distinctive raised skylight, and an optional third-row seat. This wagon isn't just a car; it’s a family adventure vehicle with power steering, power-assisted brakes, and even an 8-track player option back in the day!
In this video, we take a closer look at this survivor and explore its history, including its utility as an early grocery getter. Whether you're a muscle car fan or a wagon enthusiast, this Vista Cruiser will take you on a nostalgic ride!

I had a green one back in the '90s. Also had the 455. Didn't have the third row seat, but had power windows and posi. Great, comfortable ride. Lots of room. Good fuel economy. TONS of power. One of my top three favorite cars that I've owned!
That driver's side windshield wiper with "two arms" is an articulated wiper that pivots the blade to cover a greater area.
Our 1969 Ford Thunderbirds (we bought 2 new: a Sports Coupe and a 4-door Landau Brougham) had a similar mechanism.
Stunning Vista Cruiser, by the way....
Best color, this thing is so cool
Final year for the true Vista Roof, for both this car, and the Buick Sportwagon!
I believe '72 was the first (or maybe second) year for those mirrors on A bodies. But I thought none of the Super Stocks were available on the Vista Cruiser - I just saw a video the other day featuring some Olds literature, and paused and was able to read the wheel options page, and it seemed to say full wheel covers only.
My Aunt had a '70-'72, in the copper-ish brown, with woodgrain. Excellent video!!!
That thing is jaw drop gorgeous! 😍Hands down the prettiest Vista Cruiser I've ever seen!
You are absolutely correct.
But it's a Vista Cruiser. The Cutlass Cruiser was the cheaper flat-roof wagon IIRC. The Vista Cruiser also had a longer wheelbase than normal A body wagons. Only Buick got to share the Vista wagon body/chassis, calling theirs the Sport Wagon. I'd love to see a Pontiac version...
@@DanEBoyd Oops, my mistake, meant to say Vista!
