This video provides an introduction to the recently developed multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) method called the best worst method (BWM) using the excel solver provided by the developer of the method Professor Jafar Rezaei. Note that sheet C3-C9 are used based on number of criteria you have in your study. For example, if your study design include 8 criteria, you will use C8.

Published papers using BWM:
(1) Three criteria, sixteen sub-criteria:

(2) Four alternatives, eight criteria:

(3) Four alternatives, five criteria:

(4) Five criteria, twenty sub-criteria:

Take the BWM short course: researchhub.org/course/best-worst-method/
Then why you dont choose the most imporatnt one , such as if Style is more important then price . Then the best criteria should be Style.
Why do these weights not match the values shown in the web presentation?
In the presentation, using the model (2) the weights are: 0.2024,0.4609,0.1536,0.1345,0.0512.
Thanks
Hi
I can't find solver please help me how can I find weights
hi, I can't find solver please help me how can I find weight
Thank you buddy for this video.
Welcome!
thanks:)
Could you give me references about "How many criteria is appropriate for using the BWM" , thank you
Thank you for the video.
How to find the minimum sample size to use this method?
Thank you for the video. Explained nicely. I have a query.... Is there any criteria to decide the minimum or maximum number of sample size required to collect data before proceeding with the BWM?
It depends on your study. If it is a study in the context of a company where 5 managers are going to make the decisions, then 5 would be the recommended sample size. Usually 10 or higher is good. Studies exists with 3 to 6 observations (see www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0959652620322034) as well as with 40 to 100 observations (see doi.org/10.1016/j.jclepro.2017.03.166).
@@RESEARCHHUB oh great, that was helpful. Thank you so much!
Hello, I am also looking for the answer to this question ?
I can't find the excel solver page for download
here bestworstmethod.com/software/
@@RESEARCHHUB Thank you :)
Hi
Hi, do you have any solution without excel solver
no, no possible. another approach would be to use matlab.
@@RESEARCHHUB i got it thank you. i wonder another things, does this approach change when there is multi decision maker
