Miss Chris, the portions are huge. I thank you for the tips because I was failing with my pinto beans. You are a tremendous person. I hope you can relax a bit and take a cruise or some such. You deserve.
I so enjoy watching your videos! Home-cooking done with both love and honesty thru trial and error. You care about how you cook, you are not complicated but natural and human, like the rest of us. We cook at home with love for family. You are a rock star like the rest of all of us "home-cooks" who eat real and live life! Thank you for sharing your gifts!
You are far the best I watch your videos and it's so close to our family home cooking. So I rather watch you. And you explain so well step by step. Thanks for sharing.
I think I have watched this about three times! That was just in one day! I've never been pleased with my pinto bean recipe, I've been trying to get em like my ex-boyfriends mother did one day. I'm going to try this version and see what it yields. Ms. Chris, you truly are what we say, "A sho nuff ol' skool cook'!!
That is good food. Beans are one of the main food staples of home. I cook beans to eat all week, high quality, nutritious, the best of foods ,budget friendly food. One of the best sources of soluble fiber, the best kind that helps lower cholesterol and repel cancers and other disease. I cook it without meat and it is delicious with seasonings and onions, peppers and garlic.
I'm a guy and I'm trying to learn how to cook like my grandmother did but I think it may be impossible. lol. I'm going to try to do this recipe. Looks absolutely delicious. thank you for posting this.
I'm trying to budget to purchase a home, and step one was to learn to cook at home and save money! I bought a big bag of dried pinto beans and didn't know the first thing to do. This looks delicious and you made it simple to follow. Thank you so much for the inspo!!
I've been watching all your old videos since I newly subscribed. Thanks for the lesson in bean 'gravyology' lol. Pinto beans are similar to African brown beans that's why I love them. Great dish Chris. TFS :)
Chris I love your recipes. I made your dressing, greens and mac and cheese last Christmas and my family loved it! I also love your onion soup mix, I am so gone on it. I made the large jar the other day. I just want you to know I love your style, you just like me on most everything you cook. I want to move in your house so I can eat good everyday! OK, next door would be fine! You have a wonderful day, and know that I appreciate you more than you know.
i kid you not......i Have been on vacation for a week, i have watch the show over and over again. i tried the butter rolls and it was a success. i also tried the oxIails as well. OMG SO GLAD I stumbled in to your channel. YOU ARE OUR FOODNETWORK STAR!!!
im cooking neckbones now. Country neckbones is all the store had bit the butcher cut them up for me. i also never thought i would ever eat garlic. iknow have minced garlic in my fridge along side garlic cloves. Garlic powder in the cabinet. Once again. thanks!!!@
Funny you should ask. Black eye peas have been on my counter for 2 days. I will be cooking them and posting this week. Check back. Thanks for your comments.
Hi. If you added sugar and it's too sweet for you, you can add some vinegar to balance out the sugar. I would add the same amount of vinegar as you used for sugar, so 2 tbl spoons. Next time, I think 2 tbl spoons of sugar would be too much for my taste, too. Maybe 2 level teaspoons.
IF your beans are to sweet or salty you only put sugar or seasoning to satisfy your tast buds, not what others put in. Any receipe you follow what they put in it, but you put in enough of the ingredients to your liking (to your tast). 😁😁😁
love this recipe! i like the idea of using turkey, i've only used smoke pork meats or salt pork and i'll try your method of not soaking but yeah i bet this is the bummm. can't wait to try, love pintos and other variety of beans....thanks!
Love those pinto beans. You really taught me something. I will be doing this in my cast iron dutch oven. Cast iron is my cooking utensil of choice. Stay True
Chris thanks appreciate your videos. My question is do I cook the brans on high toward end with top covered to ensure I get a good beam gravy? What step is totally necessary for thick beam gravy?
Why, oh why am I watching this video at this time in the morning?!!!! I can taste those beans, and the turkey neck? Are you trying to kill a sistah?, lol
I was always afraid to make a pot of pinto beans until I found the way you did yours. I did it a few times and I loved the way they turned out. Not a pretty as yours but I would never be ashamed to serve mine. What I like to ask is, the last time I made mine, the next day I had some sort of gel in them. I boiled my smoked turkey wings in a separate pot and cooked it about 45 minutes longer (thinking it would help the skin) than the beans. I incorporated them in the beans added a bit of the seasoned turkey broth and ate well with some cornbread. But the next day, there was this gel in my beans. Do you have any idea what that could've been. Thank you for your help and I love your recipes.
I don't know what that was. However from process of elimination, it's save to say it did not come from the beans. More than likely it has to do with the meat.

How long do i cook the smoked turkey parts? Just add onions?what else do i add?
Start turkey and beans together. Cook until tender. Add only the onions. Turkey parts is all the seasoning needed. Add salt once the beans are done.
thank you so much Chris🍹
mam.. your food looks delicious!
thank you, I learned some good stuff.
How often do u stir? Don't they stick to the bottom?
Cherry Chapstick No they do not stick to the bottom. If that happens you are cooking much to fast.
I'M IN LOVE! With the cooking of course
oh wow; this made my mouth water so hard!
Chris please make a red beans and rice video...pleassseee!
Krystal Diamond it’s done absolutely the same way. You are only changing the bean. They both require the same amount of cooking time.😋😃
Thank looks so good.

Did you use Beef onion Lipton soup
No, I used the regular one because I used smoked turkey parts.
