Catching Vermillion Snapper 3 at a Time!

On the 30hr tuna safaris, we bottom fish on the way out... that is an opportunity to catch grouper, AJ, Almaco Jack, wahoo, kingfish and red snapper (when in season). Outside of snapper season, vermillion snapper or beeliner are the target species. I use an electric reel with a multihook chicken rig to catch them. This drop I used a 4 hook bottom rig with squid to target them. I only caught one triple but ended up with a double (20) limit of fish!
I striper fish all the time using my www.thumpemupfishing.com thumper but I like to venture offshore on the New Buccaneer when I can!

Yes it is. I am using a Shakespeare Tiger Lite jigging rod

@Thump’em up Fishing channel I know I've asked before over the phone about the rod you use for casting top water. I think we never finished this conversation.
But I never asked you what is the line range and the action.

@@virusthewolf for GOM, you can use 40-60lb most of the time. In the winter we get bigger tuna (140-150lb class) so I would recommend 60-80 then. I use 60-80 and 80-100lb rods because they are double duty bluefin rods.
