- Rigging shouldn't be this easy!
Up until now all the rigs I've set up have been done using the "manual" rigging method. When I started experimenting myself with the auto-rigging/ Freestyle Rigging method I regretted how much time I spent doing things manually at first. However, when it the time came to customize and modify the rig I had the confidence and know-how to pop open the hood and get the results I needed- so knowledge of the manual rigging process is still very valuable!
You will be amazed at how fast it is to go from creating character art to directing an animated performer. Come and see!

Electric Dog has developed a character rigging toolset promises to catch Adobe Animate up to current and possibly set a new standard of 2D character rigging. I can't fully describe how excited I am about the possibilities of this new toolset but in this short video, I'll try.

So I don't have to use the magnet joint. That's cool because it never worked I'll try your way
animation and control through Layer Parenting vs Freestyle Rigging. Is there an advantage for either of them over the other?
Layer Parenting is fast and very simple. Only FK, though. Open rig is flexible for going frame-to-frame. I love puppets, but we'll always have to go frame to frame for the best results.
Is it possible to turn around the entire character 180. For an example in case of animating dancing or fighting like swinging swords.
That's a great question. It is possible to manage pose libraries within AnimateCC but it does not have a slider that allows you to simulate a 360 degree rotation (like toonboom or some other softwares)
Hey awesome video, mind telling me how to get the SMR Helper shelf? I looked under the window panel and couldn't find anything. I'm very new to power tools, so I have no idea where most of the options are.

Sure thing. The SMR helpers might not be available in the version you're using. I'm using the Beta of version 6 but v5 is helpful to use to get the hang of the menus and stuff. Did you already install v5?

This still don't work. Where you you see this magic tool freestyle till you are talking about. I don't see it in the command and I don't have that set of options you selected from. The magnets and rig don't with either
I'm using version 6 which is a Beta that's not available publicly yet. Flash Power Tools should come out of Beta any day now.
I can't wait for edap tools v6 to go out 🤩
Real helpful thanks, but when i set up tool the helper only shows 12 symbols not full options why?
You might need the premium version of the plugin, or you might need to switch on those symbols from the settings menu

Can you tell me whether EDAP v6 would support the latest Animate CC 2021? I know it does not work with EDAP v5 effectively. Latest Animate CC EDAP v5 support 2018 version.
For anyone who read the comment above: This claim about EDAP Tools v.5 not working beyond Animate 2018 is completely false.
EDAPT v.5.0.0.1 work perfectly fine with Animate 2019, 2020 and 2021 with only two limitations - Auto Keyframe and Parented Layers.
