They recorded the next Raw in that very same arena at Las Vegas the same night right after the pipebomb promo Raw had just went off the air, where Vince told Cena that Punk is reinstated and it aired on tv next week because everybody got time off for July 4th. So everything in that storyline was scripted all the way to the PPV, where the ending for the match was figured out just before the show when Punk signed a new three year contract.

The Shield alone being something Punk did to make 3 guys into top guys by attaching them directly to him and then later the authority, they went on to be World Champs too which was great. He also name dropped ROH and NJPW for the first time on air which was the first time I ever heard of them and it was the gateway to indies for a lot of people. He also was one of the first guys to really make indie wrestling mainstream as he did kinda help pave the way for guys like Balor, Owens, Sami, Ricochet, Aleister, etc. a lot of the things he said creatively in the pipe bomb are still true to this day shockingly as nobody realized how right he was. Even if you say he didn’t change WWE, he changed wrestling as a whole outside of the machine inadvertently. I’m not a CM Punk fan by any stretch, I find him pretty overrated but saying he didn’t do anything in his run in wrestling is a lie

He certainly did change the business. He made the indies cool and a lot of the wrestlers we see today simply wouldn't have got the chance if he didn't kick those doors down. He was also responsible for giving WWE the spark it so desperately needed (which was long gone by 2017 but that's on WWE) after years of them just coasting off of having no competition. It's undeniable CM Punk changed the landscape of wrestling, for better or for worse.
