thanks for the video...saved me several thousand. Had a garage door company say they couldn't fix that part and was trying to get me to buy all new door etc.
If you’re referring to the actual door panel center stile being damaged beyond repair then I would say you should call a garage door service company in your area to see if you can get the replacement panel. Otherwise the operator bracket in the video can be found online or at your local hardware store like Home Depot / Lowe’s in the garage door opener section.
Great video. My door doesn’t have this bracket, the J arm is watched to a plate at the top of the door, which ripped off today. Could I install this instead?
Yes you can use this bracket instead of that plate. You should be able to remove that plate and replace it with the operator bracket. Let me know if you have any issues with it. Thanks
You can put the bracket right over the center stile even if it’s loose, so long as the operator bracket your installing secures to the door panel itself. I’ve put it on top of many loose stiles and never had an issue. Hope that helps, and thank you for reaching out. 🙏
The screws are self tappers and I’m using a drill with a 7/16 magnetic nut driver to loosen and tighten the self tappers to the door. Congrats on the new home and best of luck 🤞 it’s a learning process but it’s worth it. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching 🙏

👍 right on. Glad I could help 🙌 thanks for your feedback.
Great video, I had the same issue, found the same part at Lowes, and got it installed in 10 minutes.
Thanks for your great video. Is there any alternative part for replacing the strut
The strut is the best option available. Once that becomes compromised , I would recommend replacing the panel at that point.
One of the best videos out there thanks!
Thank you !!! 🙏🧸
Very Detailed Video. Thank you. I prefer this bracket too. as it does the job.
It works well when needed most. I appreciate the comment, thank you 🙏
Used your video today to install my bracket.

Is there any need to reattach the galvanized piece that was loose? Is it critical in operation of the door if you install this operating bracket?

What is the name of the tool you're using to unscrew? What is the name of those... screws? First time homeowner trying to do some repairs myself 😅

What is the name of the bracket you used??
Home Depot has one made by Clopay adjustable bracket and others online like Earthtec. Same on Amazon.
