As a lover of woodwork there is nothing more satisfying to me than seeing a close up of a screw being perfectly drilled into wood!😁😁😁

If you line it with cardboard you don’t need to remove the turf. Anything below the cardboard will eventually mulch down.

Thank you for this video. I am starting off growing my own vegetables and herbs, following this video just built my own raised bed. I didn't have to use any preservative on the pegs as the timber was pre-treated. It takes a tonne of compost, I had to use so many bags to nearly fill it.

How safe is it to use treated wood for growing veg? Wouldn’t there be issues with it leaching?

Yes don’t listen to anyone or the gov. Use natural untreated wood

You don’t need to remove turf, see Charles Dowding no dig garden

I was just thinking the same thing. I'm planning to make some new beds in a month. Will layer with cardboard, compost, and a few inches of chopped leaves. I'm expecting loose enough soil for planting next spring. And, yes, trying to go to "no dig" in all my gardens.

@@myjunkmail007 I just attach landscape fabric to the bottom of the frame and fill it up with compost and soil. Never worry about weeds or grass coming through

that's right, under such a layer everything will rot, and microorganisms and worms will do their job
