Great video again mate, always get a buzz when i see you've uploaded! That was a tough job, the good ones always outweigh the bad jobs and you generally learn something from the bad ones 😎
Sounds like a airlock bro as the pipework rises to the the right of the boiler and runs straight, on the horizontal run after the filter cut some air vents in
What a nightmare! Good effort. Usually get airlock like that on open vented systems.. you would think all them auto air vents would have sorted the issue... get home and forget about it. Tomorrow is another day.. keep up the good work!
Glow worm & vailant heat exchangers are so sensitive to debris in tbe system that they block up & cause small pockets of air and then as you found out it causes the boiler to lock out. What has worked before is a dishwasher tablet popped in the filter & voila the heat exchanger clean as a whistle. When i used to do installs i would always fit below the boiler 2 lever valves capoed off so i could isolate the boiler & then just connect to the heating circuit. Saves any major issues with the boiler. Also not knowing what the pump duty is on the power flush unit can sometimes be too much for the boiler itself causing other issues. Especially the pressure sensor can cause the boiler to stop start intermittently. Airvents on the return can under the influence of the pump suck air in !! So i would always shut the system down then vent the system. All of those vertical rads are a nightmare for trapping air , so when the pump cones on it keeps shifting it up to the boiler, which then becomes a rinse & repeat!! Fair play to you for 1 driving all that way to do that job 2 hump that machine up into the loft. As others have said that was really a 2 man job. I appreciate its an existing customer but for a job like that inc your travel i hope the price you gave them reflected all you did. Great work though 👏
Bloody hard work that. The wiring all over the gaff looked pretty bad and no cylinder stat, cowboys. Not to mention those pipes are at risk of freezing so close to the roof tiles. Were those manual aav's working and was the aav on the boiler working?
Tough game this mate. Just look after yourself. Your young. Dont knacker your self. Every year that goes by i say i need to get out of the game. Stress is crazy
What a bc job 😅 but sometime we have to do it. Makes you out of breath going up and down the attic. Really tiring. Well done mate. Great video as always.
It was always going that way. Boiler and cylinder at the highest point, not to mention the pipework! I would have anticipated up to 4 hours to achieve full circulation, or more! Looking at the magnets, the major issue was down to a poor instal. So dangerous having flushing kit in loft and didn't do you any favours in achieving a circulation! No chance of Glowworm taking responsibility for poor system water quality! BS 7593 compliance is no 5minuite job!
I wondering if its anything to do with it being a combi i.e. priorty DHW, (divertor in hot water position), as someone already said wrong boiler for system but nice video!!
Been there myself mate on power flushes, I’ve started to cut into the flow and returns and power flush the system and boiler independently of each other, people say I’m mad but it cuts the risk of pushing blockages into the boiler, I do use a press tool to reconnect them, I’d rather spend an extra 30min doing them separate than an extra 2hours getting them back on especially in the winter.
Yeah definitely that's what I normally do, but the customer was having problems with circulation though the boiler already so I was hoping the flush may push it through and clear it
Hi would have condemned the whole job to dangerous has anybody looked at ceiling joists for weight of everything no lagging frost stat , blow off valve going to what . Not your career its your name put to that job will be blamed on you not the installer.
Mate I feel your pain on that one, Working in an hot tight attic space up and down on your own would deplete you, What an absolute c**t of an air on the boiler, 👍👍🤜

Hi just to know if u can share: whats the three good and bad things about being a gas engineer
Keep your head up bro, phenomenal content. Completely real..showing highs n lows. Big up yourself 👊
Thank you! 🙌🏽👊🏽
Brilliant video mate had many days like this.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏽
Good video mate
On the compacts when you have the filter block up always check the flow pipe above 👍👍
Nice one mate 👍🏽

Never knew that about a dishwasher tablet! Makes sense though now you mention it. Thanks for watching and commenting, much appreciated 👍🏽
Nice video, after over 40 years in the trade you get used to things going wrong, keep your chin up, tomorrows another day 👍
Cheers man 👍🏽
I feel your pain….air locks are the absolute worst
You know it!
Love your work!!! Thank you so much for the content 10/10 as always
Thank you! 🙏🏽
Awesome actual content... appreciate your efforts mate
Cheers man!
You did very well brother! Let’s hope you didn’t get a call as you got home the boiler still isn’t working.
Thank you!

💯 mate. Yeah AAV was working mate, just a bad install overall

Absolutely! 🙏🏽
Great work and content bud
@@dmheatingplumbing9805 thank you mate!
Jobs can be boring if they were all easy! Nice to see a challenging job, main thing is you tried your best.
🙌🏽
Was there anything connected to the water side of the combi? Air in the plate might have been the issue. Great vid, we all have days like that! 😂
Yeah mate the kitchen tap, ran that too and cleared the air from the plate but was still locking out
Ah, just a pain then! Hex at top of system not ideal as we know 🙃
I question my career on a daily basis mate 😂 once it’s up and running I feel happier again… until the next one
Always the case!
Just another day at the office 🤣
Ha ! Keep the faith, we've all been there mate !
😂
What a bc job 😅 but sometime we have to do it. Makes you out of breath going up and down the attic. Really tiring. Well done mate. Great video as always.
Defo hit my step count that day 😂
All that unlagged pipework in the loft losing heat to the sky.
🤷🏽♂️
Glow-worm flush and fill port accessory what is the part number and where do you get it from? Great video today.
I'm not sure of the part number but you should be able to get it off glowworm's club energy website
Like your little trick
👌🏾
Wouldn’t the boiler warranty be void anyway if it’s found that no flush out was done on install 👍
It would but most manufacturers would give the customer one warranty call as goodwill initially
It was always going that way.

Welcome back John
what size are the camlocks you have on that flushing adaptor and where did you get them from?
thanks
Jay
They came with my machine mate, they're 3/4 inch camlocks (C75)
@@cputilitysolutions thanks for getting back, going to order some 👍
I wondering if its anything to do with it being a combi i.e. priorty DHW, (divertor in hot water position), as someone already said wrong boiler for system but nice video!!
Possibly, I tried everything but yeah wrong boiler for the install so just trying my best to make good of a bad situation

Mate im struggling to find customersbhow dod you manage to get customer base sorted
Word of mouth mainly, always try to do the best you can and be honest with your customers and get recommended
Wrong boiler, bad installation, why didn't, he get back the original installers, I would of walked away
Typical story of can't get hold of the installer. I try to help out my customers where I can and did advise him it should have been a system boiler
Problem is, like you I am loyal to my customers but some of them aren't to us !
@@gregbenham5586 tell me about it!
It wasn't a job for one person. Put it down to experience
👍🏽
Them boilers are wank 😂
Tell me about it 🤣
Powerflushes are rubbish in my opinion and I've been an engineer for 25 years
Cause uve pumped shit through it lol
Just mains flush it

What a horrible job and horrible install. Hate days like this least you kept going :)
