    • @olliepearce1005
      @olliepearce1005 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Probably the boiling in water and how the bottle didn't melt

    You can use lint to start a fire. You can get it from clothes dryers or..... from inside your boots! Reach inside and you`ll find some at the toe end. Useful if you have nothing to catch a spark.

    Really neat survival tips. That plastic cord was so interesting and that puddle water filter was a dramatic result. Legend. 👍

    The SPOON hack amazed me the most. You taught us the cordage hack before and it never fails to impress me for its usefulness. In the winter season, the 'hot water bottle hack is outstanding--as long as you have a spare, unpunctured cap!

    Plastic cordage technique. Genius. I feel ashamed to have never considered it before.
    Also, the filter technique is the most useful in almost any survival situation. Previously known, but vital for these types of lists.
    Well done.

  • @WierdBaller

    in a survival situation yes, the boiling is a good idea. it would take a lot of the chemicals from plastic to do lasting damage (unless you have some condition before hand). i would use it as a last ditch effort for sure. you surviving is number one and dehydration is a quicker killer than the chemicals where you can seek medical attention afterwards.

    You can crush charcoal from the fire and use it as an additional filter if you want drinking water! Then you can usually drink it directly if it comes from somewhere in the forest, a bog or similar! Although it is safer to boil the water clearly. We don't have to think about that here in northern Scandinavia where I live, we can drink pretty much all water from nature! !
    I live about 50 km south of the Arctic Circle

  • @riuphane
    @riuphane ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Any time you make a filter like that, you should add some charcoal scraped off your firewood. It has a few properties that help purify the water a little more, though you'll still need to boil it.
    Great video, really enjoyed this one!

    Yes, many scammers are high jacking logos then trying to get money and personal info. The best thing for your subscribers to do is 'click' on the fake logo to look at their web page. They'll see the scammers have none of your videos nor content. Report them to TH-cam and block their comments. Yes, more than likely they will pop up again. Wishing you all the best. I love you all in Christ. Warm hugs from northern California.

    Another version of the filter uses just the cloth, gravity and two containers. The dirty water is placed at a higher elevation with the cloth or even paper towel into it and down into the second container. This uses capillarity and then gravity to draw the water without particles. Boil afterwards

  • @dravenblaze6907
    @dravenblaze6907 ปีที่แล้ว

    with the water filter I like to take a piece of branch that fits snugly in the mouth of the bottle( it should be as dry as possible). this adds to the filtering and in some cases can give the water a little bit of the flavor from the branch. I like pine for this. It takes longer to filter but a little bit more filtering doesn't hurt.
