Revelation Class 9 - 3/3/22

Our ninth session on Revelation, taught by Travis Rogers, Jr. This week is Chapters 8 & 9. Opening the 7th seal and hearing 6 of the 7 trumpets. As Travis mentions a few times during this lesson, these images do not have to be literal/real to contain meaning. These are symbols of real occurrences, historical references. God is about bringing deliverance to God’s people, not vengeance. Things happen in stages because there’s always room for repentance. John reminds us to focus on God’s patience and mercy.
A couple of references non-canon books that Travis mentioned. As Travis noted, in our Lutheran tradition, we see these books/stories as good for reflection, but not for basing doctrine, thus, they are not in the Protestant version of the Bible.
