Everything was thrown at this movie to stop it from being shown but they made it happen. A movie centered around the most unimaginable kind of evil and it does take a lot out of you. I thought the music was perfect. It didn’t interrupt with the story. The soundtrack was amazing. You should go back and watch it again. There’s so much sorrow in this movie, music would’ve ruined it. If the music was overbearing it would have overshadowed the story , silence is golden.
I would totally take my first date to this movie as a morality litmus test. If you don't care about this most grevious moral injustice happening to children around the world then I don't want to be yoked with you. Child slavery is an issue which I am particularly passionate about seeing eradicated.

Just want to make a couple of corrections. Also it was not produced by Angel Studios. They bought the distribution rights. It was produced as an Indy film under fox searchlight. When Disney acquired fox searchlight they shelved the film. When they gave up the distribution rights it was than acquired by Angel Studios.
This is not a religious based Movie. Jim and Tim are both Christians, but the Movie is about saving children from Child Sx Trafficking. This is based on Tim Ballard's life and him saving children and busting PEE DOHS.

I heard and read that the movie budget was 15 million (without marketing). I highly doubt they had the same budget (production and marketing). Edit.: The actual production budget is 14 1/2 million. Edit.: They confirmed this number on the Angel Studios livestream I just watched (with the director and Jim)

I don't think music was missing in this movie. You said it was not entertainment. So therefore lack of music. It's kind of raw to make you realise that this is real life for those kids. Jim is one of the greatest actors and I really can't understand why hollywood is against him. So looking forward the Christ 2. I hope Mel gets to make that.
Why is this film considered a Christian film? The main character, played by Jim Caviezel, was a Latter-day Saint, but that never came out in the movie and there wasn't any religion mentioned really. The film was made by 20th Century Fox, then was owned by Disney who sold it to Angel Studios. I'm a Latter-day Saint myself, and do believe the movie was outstanding and important, but didn't see it as a Christian work per se.

Interesting that Angel Studios stemmed from VidAngel, a filtering business that eliminates profanity and violence in entertainment media, producing a tense yet toned-down child sex trafficking film with some swearing inclusion for authenticity because of its actual event-based account.
Though the TRUE story is about a man of faith, this is NOT a "Christian movie". The movie is about rescuing children from sex trafficking. The FOCUS NEEDS to be on the abduction and slavery of children for the sex porn industistry. USA is the biggest provider and consumer of child pornography. The original producers sold the movie to FOX, who then sold it to Disney, who then shelved the movie until the original Producers could win back the rights to the movie. Only then did Angel Studio purchase and promote this movie. (Lets all ponder THAT reality. Why did Disney buy it, then shelve it with no chance of ever promoting it? ) This is an excellent movie that is not trying to do anything other than bring awareness to all decent individuals, that human child trafficking is BIG BIG business world-wide (from filthy back door brothels, to Epstein Island etc etc etc). It's a GREAT true life ADVENTURE. Agent Tim Ballenger, whom the movie is based on, quit his gov't job to go rescue children. Because of him, some laws changed to make it easier to go around the world to free children, otherwise living in hell. There are still laws that need to be challenged and changed to curb this horror.
