    Thank u for these tutorials. They are very helpful, as I am Catawba so when I'm not able to go to learning classes on the Rez I try to self teach . All the explanation and materials is helpful. Most don't include material's an hard to judge 😊

    I used to, and sometimes still do, bead on cheap felt. It comes in colors that helps the beads stand out so I don't have to worry about the gaps in my work look too noticeable and I feel less pressure to cram my beads. That just all around helps my completed work look nice and flat. Love to see we use a lot of the same materials otherwise! I'm also a Huge supporter of Powwow supply. I remember seeing her for the first time at the CMU powwow with all of her beads and now shes my first priority for buying things. Love this video, look forward to more in the future!

    You can try stuffing something in the bottom of your wax holder to lift the wax where you can use it again. Thank you for your channel and time. I’m working on beading and leather pouches. It’s fun and relaxing.

    I’d love to meet you one day, I’m still learning my heritage but my grandmother is Saponi Blackfoot. I love your tutorials and now binge watching them to learn more. You are my inspiration to learn how to bead to pass it to my daughter.

    Thank you for this video. I am attemping to bead my very first set for my daughter. Starting is a scary thought but excited for beginning to bead and create something my daughter will have for a long time. I did not know where to start but this video was very helpful! I feel more confident! Thank you!

    Not saying this in a mean way, I just wanted to let you know that the round thing is called an embroidery hoop, in case someone wants to buy one online. Great video thanks!

    Felt also comes in stiffer plys, I call what you had "floppy felt" it wears easier and its frustrating to work with lol, idk if its necessarily referred to as "plys" but the felt i get is a lot stiffer and comes in sheets its super cheap i get it at hobby lobby

      I use the stiff felt as well and haven’t had any problems. Using floppy felt would be a lot more difficult!

    Very, very informative! Thank you for your insight! It was absolutely awesome information. I haven't beaded on any material in a very long time, I've been doing jewelry recently. But!, (lol) I've been wanting to get back into the native pieces again, especially on the leathers. Most of my previous work was all on deerskin.

    Something to keep in mind with leather (besides what kind) is thickness..it’s easier to pass a beadwork needle or glover thru thinner leather rather than thick leather...just wanted to add this lil “auntie secret” from my beadwork guru’s..also shout-out to the cereal box/thin cardboard for barrettes..my mom does this but my old skool aunties just use lots and lots and LOTS of tacky glue..also pay attention to finish on beads ie luster, silver lined, etc (I personally don’t care for dyed beads unless I have acrylic clear spray so the color doesn’t rub off or fade[put the beads in a ziplock; spray the clear spray in the bag; shake em up, lay on a baking sheet lined with wax paper to dry])

      Chelsey Moon You’re welcome a’ho 😊..just trying to share the knowledge I have since so many others online and irl have helped me by sharing theirs. One last thing! Beads on hanks are more uniform than beads bought in tubs or tubes (with the exception of miyuki delicas) All beads are good beads to me tho 🥰

    So excited to have found your channel! I'm so grateful for all of the creative kin like you teaching us how to improve our beading online. Going to check out powwow supply! Also, if you ever start a Patreon for your longer regalia projects, I think you'd be a hit when it catches on. Thank you for sharing!

    Hi! Thanks very much for the video. Do you by chance know of any brand that produces a natural thread that would work for seed beed? Something that biodegrades back into the earth? Nylon doesn’t :( haven’t found a good cotton brand, yet.

    Sorry don’t mean to offend but when you talk about the cabs, the part when you were holding them up the one in your left hand is called a gem not a cab like the heart cab you had in the other hand. I hope this helps you out and sorry if I offended you by saying this just wanted to help you out but pointing out the differences between those two items you were talking about. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day beautiful and great videos also, keep it up!!! Love watching your videos. 😁😁

    Can you also do a tutorial how to make those red jingle earrings?
    Also with tools, I always have on hand, is a seam ripper. Just in case you have to take apart something. We all have those beading moments where something goes wrong and you need to take apart a piece of thread or bead. I use a seam ripper to do the job...
    Miigwech ❤

    hi! I'm indigenous, but grew up with a white dad who suppressed any connection between me and my heritage, is it ok if I bead? i want to learn more about my culture and hope to connect with my tribe in another state over once i have my own car and license.

    Hello! This is actually very helpful! I just have one question if you don’t mind.. with the moccasins, leggings or cape, how did you get the beadwork on? Like do you glue it on something? Thank you! :))
    (I apologize if you’ve covered this in this/another video)

    Question: Is it true you can only use peyote stitch on rounded objects?

    • @ChelseyMoon
      @ChelseyMoon  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think so, and that’s just because a flat peyote stitch is technically just a brick stitch

    • @myrtleletander1455
      @myrtleletander1455 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually no you can also use the wrap around technique on round objects also I’ve use brick stitch on round pieces, I find it easier to do the wrap around technique then the peyote stitch technique. And it doesn’t take as much time as the peyote does. Hope this helps you out somewhat. Enjoy the rest of your day beautiful 😁😁
