Thanks for the review! -- I bought my 2023 Outlander PHEV (SEL Premium) 8 weeks ago - local dealer (Columbus, Ohio - USA) had 7 Outlander PHEVs on the lot. I got mine for $1,200 UNDER MSRP and the dealer gave me $31,500 for my 2018 Acura TLX -- I paid $18,000 plus tax for the Outlander. I have driven 1,840 miles -- getting 85 MPGe. I am plugging it in every night for my daily commute and weekend errands. It feels "luxurious" inside -- premium leather, panoramic roof, 360 camera, power folding side mirrors, heated, steering wheel, heated seats, hands-free tailgate, head up display, Bose speakers AND massaging seats! If I take a longer drive, I will have no "range anxiety." Plus, the Outlander has a 10-YEAR WARRANTY. ONE BIG NOTE: the owner's manual clearly states that the 3rd row is ONLY for people under 5' 3." I do not need a 3rd row, so I "tri-fold" it. This opens up a HUGE, DEEP storage well. And, I can stack duffel bag items on the folded 3rd row! The RAV4 Prime may have better overall mpg, but the 18-month wait and $12,000 "dealer adjustment" are outrageous. One local dealer wanted $65k for loaded Prime with MSRP of $52k. I did not consider Kia or Hyundai brands -- "Kia boys" have stolen 3,000 of them in my area (and assaulted drivers in the process). This is a real issue. Lastly, my home solar panels will be installed in 6 weeks along with a Level 2 charger in my garage. The Outlander PHEV is the PERFECT choice for me in 2023. Final note: the local dealer now has 14 Outlander PHEVs on the lot and offering $1,250 off MSRP. Availability, luxury, value and price -- a great vehicle to "step into" electrification!
This SUV really surprised me. My god it has everything. The best looking SUV right now (in it's price range). RAV4 nah, Tucson nah, Sportage nah, THIS ONE looks luxurious. Plenty of technology as well. Well well done Mitsubishi. I hope you are back in the business

This is perhaps the best case of "right car, right time" since perhaps the '86 Ford Taurus. Ive gone through 3 different mitsu and all have been great. From 2017 Mirage SE, 2019 Outlander Sport SE which saved me in a t-bone collision. And now I am on my second 2022 Outlander. The first I purchased after my Sport was totaled and it was the 22 Outlander SE (without tech package which would give moonroof, folding mirrors etc). It was great but after 2 months I found an SEL Touring mid chip shortage for no markup and just had to get it ! It feels so different compared to SE although its the same under the hood. The company has been good to me even before the Nissan Alliance so I am very excited to see whats next !
Love mine. Got it at 13 miles Now with almost 18000. I get around 32mpg and during winter was still getting 29mpg. No issues going through snow drifts.
You can put a spare in it, not from the factory but the space is still there. Or just have a “tar-rope” kit in the car with a little pump. Can fix lots of flats with “tar-rope”.
I apparently took the SEL Touring model home yesterday and the salesman didn’t even explain to me that this model had a touring model. All I told the dealer was my wife wanted fully loaded. I had to read the window sticker later when I got home that there was a $2,700 charge for touring package. Well after watching this video now I know what I got.
I'd be tempted to get a Mitsubishi but the closest dealer being over a hour away makes it a no go for me personally. Would make Warrenty work problematic.
GO MITSUBISHI!!! 👍🤙🤘👏 I've owned several Mitubishis since the late '80s, including a Dodge Raider (Pajero) and my current 2009 Galant. We ABSOLUTELY LOVE our wonderfully reliable and underrated GALANT with the 2.4L 4G69 engine!!! She has NEVER let us down and has aged quite nicely -- especially compared to my friend's 2008 Camry with only 98K miles on it. His Camry eats A LOT of oil due to the apparent poor design of Toyota's 2AZ-FE piston rings. Our Galant's' pearl paint is shiny, while his Camry's is peeling...Go figure...🤔🧐🤨 Our underdog Mitsus have NEVER let us down!!! Bulletproof reliability and value.
Not bird dooky making an all-out entrance on the front bumper. X-D Great review, though! Love the new Outlander. Definitely an underdog and definitely worthy of consideration for all customers in this segment. Great job, Mitsu, and Car Confections!
I owned a 2019 Outlander SEL PHEV and thought it was a lot of bang for my buck, but the styling was pretty dated. It looked more like a vehicle from the late 2000s. I upgraded to a 2022 SEL at the end of 2021 and Mitsubishi added everything on my wish list to the new body style. The Outlander looks current/futuristic for the first time. Even the SE models come pretty loaded and are the best value for a 3 row SUV for under $30k, in my opinion. I really hope that Nissan’s involvement will help put Mitsubishi back on the map.
30 years ago, it was Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Mitsubishi in that order....Subaru and Mazda were OK too, but the domestics and Euros were all junk. Hyundai and Kia were lower than junk; they were 3rd World cars that didn't belong in the US. In fact, Mitsubishi licensed their engine designs to Hyundai in the 1990s; Hyundai only stopped using such designs in 2014. READ BEFORE YOU BUY! When it comes to the the mi pilot assist. You have to have it in cruise for it to activate and keep you centered. Then everytime you switch lanes via turn signal it will beep at you when you enter the other lane and it locks on to the lines again. So left turn signal, switch lanes, locks on with green steering wheel lit... BEEP. Then pass the car and go back to the right lane, locks on.... BEEP. No where to turn that off and super annoying with no volume control either. Also, when the Mi Pilot active you can't turn off the alarm for when you drift to a line on either side. This is usually the persons doing over the assist but it will give you a BEEP BEEP, BEEP BEEP when that happens and you can't turn that off either. So if those types of alarms bother you then this is not the car for you. And the windshield washers are built in into the wipers which is even crazier like a Mercedes.

Does Mitsubishi have any relationship with Nissan? The steering wheel buttons and digital cluster is similar to the Pathfinder.
