I have a Penn 109 that I performed maintenance on, but I need to replace the broken drag washers and purchase a dog and spring that were missing. Thanks for the info in this video. Now I want to go back and take it apart again!
Nice video. Just got one of these from a neighbor and figured it might be a decent pier or jetty fishing reel. Two questions, approximately how many yards of 15 pound mono can I put on this, I can’t find any information. Second of all, does it cast well, I’m struggling to find the info online, but can it be casted from the surf
275 yards of 15lb mono. I would not say this is a good casting reel because it is in fact a "knuckle buster" as some call it. The handle does turn when in free spool mode. I would essentially use this model for dropping bait off a pier, dock or boat. Thanks for watching!

Thanks again for watching! Good Luck!

Where is the serial number on it?
No serial numbers on the old vintage penns.
