This week at Imprint Church in Woodinville, we talked about another of the "I AM" statements of Jesus in John 10. This week's "I AM" statement of Jesus is when He says, "I am the door of the sheep..." in John 10. Here, Jesus talks in some more symbolic language like He will all throughout John. And He identifies himself as the door (or the gate) of the sheep. In fact, one might go so far as to say that I think in this Jesus is telling us that He, as God, is the gatekeeper, the good shepherd, and the door for all people who are referred to as sheep.
Jesus is saying, "If you want safety, if you want to come in where you belong and you can rest and be safe, there is only one door to get through. I'll keep you safe going in. And I'll keep you safe going out.
