Excelente video Gio, vino en el momento justo. Vengo con problemas similares de consistencia y parálisis por análisis. Me ayudaste mucho, en especial los ejemplos de tus hábitos. ¡Muchas gracias!
Refold recently released the video about the software dedicated to time tracking and habit tracking. The combination of these two works excellent for me. I aim pretty short daily periods but at the same time I expect the minimum amount of time per week. For example reading. The habit is 30 minutes per day. The time tracker goal is 10 hours per week. So habit tracking helps me to do just something every day while my time tracking helps to calculate and decide whether I need push more or less today.
15:28 Reading. What if you lose the memory of what happened in the prior chapters? And then that in itself creates a bad habit loop of, “how can I continue to read this when I don’t even know what is going on?” Maybe a good solution would be to make a brief note of what you know so far and add that with the bookmark? Then maybe procrastination will set in and it will feel like too much work just to keep reading the book?
If you're reading a language learning textbook, I recommend this pattern: Day 1 = Read 1 chapter. Day 2 = Re-read chapter 1, then read chapter 2. Day 3 = Re-read chapter 2, then read chapter 3. Day 4 = Re-read chapter 3, then read chapter 4. And so on. If you're reading a novel, those are harder to break into chapters. So I just recommend reading a scene or reading like 5 pages, then going back and re-reading it. If you're using Kindle, use the highlight colors as a code system (ex: Blue highlight = character and place names, Red = word you don't understand and need to research later. Orange = brand new vocab. Yellow = I saw this before but forgot it.) Forgetting stuff is normal, so you either have to read a large amount in order to keep seeing the vocab again naturally/in the wild. Or force yourself to see the vocab again by reviewing through flashcards or re-reading.
I'll read the book, just because I am a petty person and think i can make a better presentation. Don't take these words badly, I appreciate what you do man!
I have to learn a foreign language in school, and I can admit, it's made me frustrated to the point of pulling my hair out aggressively while I burst out in flames. But anyway, good luck to you.
14:02 Awesome Content! 🎉 The Atomic habits book has a version in Spanish. What would it take to motivate you to read & continuously read it until the end? Thank you so much! ❤
I've never heard the term "memory palace" before. Upon researching it, it seems that I knew the technique, but never knew the official name. I've never used it before, but I might try to incorporate it into an upcoming video about general learning.
Even with a lot of good input, speaking skills won't come automatically. You still have to practice to increase your active vocabulary. It's easier to get good at speaking having a lot of input under your belt than if you had little to no input.

Hey man, great video. Also, for chess, I suggest learning endgames and reviewing each move of master games instead. Puzzles are extremely inefficient

I chose to read at 9am, but my girlfriend likes to come over & diabolically wants to sabotage my habitual plan.
So now I make her read with me.
😂 this is good! Great content.

Can you make a video about memory palaces and whether (and how) you use them for vocab learning?

TLDW
any info that isn't in atomic habits?
any additional languages you plan on learning in the future?
Over the course of my life, I plan to learn many languages to high levels. Once I pass C2 in Spanish, I’ll learn a new language.
add a 0 timestamp for the chapters to work
