  • Hope you enjoy this clip of the last few months on the Santa Fe. Most of it filmed in New Mexico, with a few clips in Arizona on the Clovis and Gallup subs

The actual merger didn't take place until July 1996, with final approval in August 1996. But there are a couple clips taken in April that already have
    BNSF lettered units.
Thanks for watching. Please be sure to check out my many other video clips from the 1970's up to today. God Bless

When I was in high school my best friend wanted to become a truck driver and I thought, hey maybe I could too and travel the country railfanning while i worked. Watching your videos is a reminder of what could of been. Instead, I work for the railroad and never leave a dispatch terminal. Great stuff as always, Mr. K!

The Santa Fe was so great at the end too, where else could you see modern SD75Ms and C44-9Ws toting SD45s and GP30s? Just awesome. Glad I was shooting video around that time too.

I didn't know there was a crossover east of the crossing at 253 in Holbrook, or a siding off Main 1. The siding off Main 2 still remains. Also your Lupton mp should be around 178 ish. 140.8 would put you West of the Continental Divide near Perea. Thanks for sharing.

The sad days of railroading from 5 to 2 now in the west, so boring to railfan now.
