It is the most beautiful waterfront. For close to 30 years since I learned its' location, I go visit. I now live in Broome County and guess where I still visit? Absolutely in love with Peekskill!

No it’s not. This video suckered me in. Visited this past week and it was such a dinky little town.😡

Great Video! I lived in Peekskill for a couple of years before moving to Buchanan, it's a five minute drive from Peekskill. It truly is a beautiful place to live!!!!

No it's not. Been there on Labor Day weekend and it had a rundown deserted down town area that looked positively G-H-E-T-T-O and the waterfront looked nothing like the video. A dinky small miserable place. It seems the real attractions are further up north once you reach Fishkill.

I went to OCS (ESMA Empire State Military Academy NY Army National Guard) at Camp Smith in Peekskill. Spent a lot of time out in the field along the Hudson. Beautiful place to do OCS!

Oh man, this town is where I fell in love and raised a family. All three of my children born here. I worked at birdshall and the brewery, my family photos are filled with the waterfront. I have to say, I can't help but feel emotions watching this. The entire Hudson valley is very special to me.
One interesting fact left out, behind the Peekskill brewery is a piece of old Dutch road, the old road that went down the hill to the river. The road was made of yellow bricks, and the writer of the wizard of Oz was a student as a boy at a Peekskill seminary. It was this yellow brick road this unhappy student would walk down to the river, and develop his amazing tale.

Oh wow I didn't know that. Next time I visit I'll make sure to check it out.

@@DestinationMan Check carefully, for although it is pretty much undisputed biographical fact that L Frank Baum briefly attended Peekskill Military Academy , it is far from certain that the Road or Yellow Brick had it s origin in Peekskill. As a lifelong Peekskilite and Oz fan I’d like this to be true, but…

If , I mean when you make a return visit , you may want to go by The Peekskill Museum on Union Ave,just opposite The Church of the Assumption..Out front there is an eighteenth century cannon with an interesting story.

ANYWHERE in upstate New York is so much more relaxing and have a general better vibe than frigging NYC or Long Island.

Thanks for posting this dude. My wife and I live in NYC, but got married in Peekskill overlooking the Hudson River just over a week ago as we love the Hudson Valley. Love your history on every town you visit along with your cinematography. Now that the wedding is behind me you’ve inspired me to get out now and take as many day trips to these beautiful places as possible. Keep up the great work man 🤟🏻

Thanks! I really appreciate the response. There are so many towns to explore in the tri-state area. Why spend a fortune traveling oversees when you can see all these places nearby.
