    Stumbled across your channel and didn't know what to make of the first one I watched. You stayed at a motel with an Egyptian themed room and had green jello from a gas station for dinner. 🤔
    I watched another one about Germans in Death Valley, and I was hooked.
    Subscribed and watched about 10 in two days. Big fan. Keep it up!

    More WWII Aviation History, awesome Sarah! Yes, the WASPS were amazing gals. On Amazon I got a DVD "Fly Girls" about them. Worth a few bucks for your collection. It was made a few years ago and most who were interviewed and told their stories for the DVD have since passed away but it is a very heartwarming story what they accomplished showing the boys "how it's done!". 💖👍

    After Woodstock 12 of us Hippies in a bus were returning to San Francisco, camped out in the desert there , got stoned on Peyote, acid , etc. and came up with the idea of making the guy with the spear , condor , and sun , don't recall the fish - musta been the guy from Maine that added them.

    Read about the geoglyphs near Blythe, but never heard about this fishman. Excellent combo with those Quartzsite letters!
    Little hint regarding quadcopter flying: if you're flying a bit further away, it's better to have the flat side of the antennas pointing at your craft; that's were the strongest signal emits from :-)

    I've never understood what would motivate a "primative" people (without aircraft or drones) to create "art" best appreciated from high above. (The idea of "observing from air" appears in many cultures ... all pre-paper-map and especially pre-Google-map.)

      To propitiate the gods that are in the sky. Personally I think comets and bolides were those gods other than the obvious sun, moon, stars, planets, etc. Compare the Chelyabinsk meteor and its two vortices with the Chinese New Year Dragons chasing the bright pearl. Or the Thunderbird.

    • @NomadicBrian
      @NomadicBrian 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bardmadsen6956 That's what I understood from similar type of drawings. Not meant for human consumption. I think they had some concept of distance and size. Maybe from looking down from high mountains and identifying landmarks then thinking like a God looking from the skies as humans would look down from high mountains.

    • @bardmadsen6956
      @bardmadsen6956 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NomadicBrian - Plus, the world went through a dramatic change 12,900 years ago with the Younger Dryas Impacts Theory. The SW USA use to be very green with lots of animals and the Clovis and then it turned into a desert like the Sahara and the Fertile Crescent, maybe also around Nazca Lines and they made the drawings to ask for the animals and verdure back. Like sympathetic magic wherein one builds a huge bone fire to bring the Sun back or that crazy movie where the guy builds a baseball diamond 'And they will come.'.
