Over 30 million views in a year and a half. I subbed for more Ren. He is just leaving Canada now after a year and a half treatments for brain damage and autoimmunity. He now has MCAS which makes him allergic to almost all foods. I think he can eat 8. He has a second channel called Renmakesstuff. He recently uploaded 8 short videos of him telling the story of his 8 year nighrmare even finding a diagnosis and treatment. He is self taught producer ,singer director, actor and plays electric guitar, acoustic, bass, piano, drums, trombone, melodica and is carving out his own lane as a storyteller and artist that means to provide work that deals with real life and joins people together to solve problems. He had a #1 album in UK last October, which was rap, but new album will be more song and instumental. His authenticity and empathy are so inspirational. To explain Ren and his background, at the age of 13, his father gave him a guitar and it wasn't long after that Ren began Busking on the streets of Brighton, UK. Ren is Welsh by the way. While still a teenager, Ren was discovered by a Sony Record Producer and signed to the label soon after. Sadly it wasn't long after signing, he was struck with a mystery illness and mis-diagnosed, which resulted him in receiving the wrong medications and treatments. From the age of 19 to 25, Ren was relegated largely to his bedroom and quite often bed ridden, his only solace was creating music in his homemade studio in his bedroom. Eventually Ren was properly diagnosed with Lyme Disease, which left unchecked had ravaged his body and also affected his mental health. He has of recent undergone treatments which have given him back some normalcy to his quality of life. Ren over the years has self taught and mastered multiple instruments, including the guitar, piano, bass, cello, etc. He from an early age displayed an adept aptitude for songwriting, producing his tracks and of course his vocal ability which spans across several genres. Ren is the literal genre bender, his own self titled style "Bardcore", Reggae, Rap, Pop, R&B, Hip-Hop, etc. He directs his own videos with the help of a close team of friends. Ren was also lead singer for an amazing band "The Big Push"(I highly suggest checking them out down the road) and also many collaborations with amazing artists like Chinchilla, Sam Tompkins, Orlean, BiBi, Viktus, etc. Ren's music library is vast and spans almost every genre. If you choose to dive in (which I highly recommend) you will find out the awful pain this young man has had to endure but has nonetheless emerged with the most positive attitude and hope for us all. I won't recommend any particular recording to visit in his catalogue next, they are all, without exception, brilliant and unique.
I am still watching your reaction, He is a lyrical genius and has a tragic story. I post this small explanation should give you a little incite. A lot of his music deals with his past illness. He is very very intelligent and pretty much a regular bloke in his vernacular.. LOL Ren has been through some nasty shit, I copied this and post it on new reactors messages. He was bitten by a tick when he was 16 or 17 He got really sick from it and went to doctors and they could not figure what was wrong with him. When he had joint pain, muscle spasms, skin rashes, boils, internal organs started shutting down, And Doctors had no idea what was going on. He was loosing weight and had constant fatigue could not even stand to shower.. Doctors started sending him to psychological evaluations, They told him his mind was making him sick ! And started treating him for that with some heavy pharmaceuticals. And all that shit really fucked with his mind, He started believing he was crazy. And this went on for 8 fucking years !! 8 YEARS !! He pursued his own symptoms and lead to a Doctor that gave test for Lyme disease. Where he lived it was very rear to ever contract Lyme disease so he was never tested. When he went in described his symptoms the Doctor knew what he had. Ran the DNA test and found it in his system. However it has been in there for 8 years and has done a lot of damage to his body. He can only eat like 6 things his bones still hurt and the autoimmunity may never be healed. He had to go into surgery to remove tissue to generate stem cells grown outside his body then under go treatment taking the stem cells to help with the autoimmunity and help heal his deterioration of muscle, and a very aggressive antibiotics regiment to cure the Lyme disease chromosome. That was in LA then he went to Calgary and under going treatment on the damage the Lyme left.. He is still there until June. Welcome to Ren he is a talent I have never seen. And I have seen a LOT !! It's that inner critic, the voice of doubt that plagues so many of us. That voice that says we're not good enough, that since we haven't had wild success, we'll never have it. Mine often tells me that i don't deserve success, or good things to happen to me. Imposter syndrome. Am i really doing anything original, or even worthwhile? I spent over 30 years of my 56 years stumbling around the planet suicidal. That voice tried to get me to unalive myself more times than i could hope to count, and in ways "creative" as well as mundane. I fought against it ever when i didn't want to until i finally gave up fighting against myself in 2015. I had no reason to expect that things would get better, but I'd tried everything other than being myself, so i decided to try that. 9 years later, and it's been several years since i had suicidal thoughts. So yes, i stopped "fighting" against myself which allowed me to soften, and the negative side got a bit quieter. It's not gone, but it's manageable most of the time.

Ren is a gem. Great musician + great lyricist/storyteller + great performer in personal union..and all done solely by himself as an independent artist...and as such he can´t be put into a genre box because he has the freedom to play with all types of genres ...which you can figure out when digging deeper through his musical catalogue which is actually huge + very versatile which will leave you always surprised + speachless + amazed at the same time because of his rawness + creativity + genuineness. Actually you just opened an artistic + musical Pandora´s box which is really worth to look into.
Yep, you got it right! Ren's said that the song is not specifically about chronic illness, mental illness, or his music/creative process. It's about the human condition generally. Those things are referenced because he's telling it through the lens of his own life and those things have dominated his life but the overall meaning applies to every human being. It's also about accepting that darkness is part of us and plays a large part in creating who we are. It's part of life, part of existence. It's not something that you can ultimately defeat or banish. It's a frustrating waste of time and energy to attempt to do so. You can win battles but never the war, because it isn't a war, it's just how life is. Once you accept this simple, if unpalatable, truth, life becomes that little bit easier and the dark things become a little easier to deal with and to mitigate and believe me, he's had to deal with a LOT more darkness than your average human being! He's been through absolute hell. Even now, although massively improved, he remains chronically ill, with a host of associated conditions and in permanent, constant pain but at least he's no longer bedridden any more and is able to have a life now, after missing out on most of his twenties. I can't recommend Ren, and his music, highly enough. He's a unique artist. A musical genius! A once in a generation talent and a wonderful human being too! Definitely react to more Ren! You won't be disappointed. You WILL be surprised... constantly! :)
Ren is so multitalented , he will find many ways to astonish you with his versatility and talent. He is also very caring, compassionate and intelligent and unflinchingly honest. I hope you continue to watch him as his messages are always from the heart. He can be funny, he can be dark, he can be a teller of truths we are afraid to talk about but he is always enthralling.
I think that’s the genius of this song. Everyone can extract their own interpretation and meaning. And that’s why so many people want to see how everyone else interpreted it. And what it meant to them. Not as a validation necessarily but more an exploration of humanity.
The tale of Jenny and Screech (and violet) is a trilogy, and should be watched in a single reaction. It's very heavy but a beautiful demonstration of Ren's storytelling abilities and guitar abilities.

Welcome to the Renegades. A little history, Ren at 17 years of age contracted Lyme Disease. He went to see a doctor and he was misdiagnosed with Bipolar. So all the time he was receiving treatment for an illness he did not have, the one he did have was doing massive damage to him physically and mentally, giving him some brain damage. He spent 10 years that way, now thankfully in 2024 he is in Canada receiving proper treatment and is doing much better. Slowly but surely repairing the damage. Each and everyone have to resist the evil, the selfish impulses, the impulse to do harm and the lack of respect for others. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I just saw your Hi Ren reaction, and put this journal entry of Ren's as my comment to that reaction. jAN 01, 2023 rEN~ Up until I was 9 years old, I would intermittently hear a voice in my head that was not my own. The voice was distinctly different to mine, and always negative. It would self criticise or urge me to do things I knew to be morally wrong. The most peculiar thing about the voice was that it took no effort on my behalf to produce. My own thoughts always felt like there was a process that required effort to bring them to the forefront of my mind, this voice appeared as though it was spoken by another. The sentences felt predetermined like they had already been constructed. I remember very vividly at 9 years old, becoming very frustrated with the voice. I stood in my back yard, internally screaming at the voice to be silent again and again, and it did. In a flash there was silence, to the point where my head felt like an empty room. I wasn't used to the quiet and that voice never returned. It almost felt lonely in my head. When I got older I had intermittent bouts with auditory hallucinations where I would hear perfect symphonies, usually at night when drifting off to sleep. They were so clear that they sounded like they were emanating from a radio in the corner of my room. I knew they weren't there, but for some reason they never came with the feeling of fear. I also recall sitting on a bus at the age of 15, and hearing the sound of a crowded room, with about 100 voices chattering away, I was the only person apart from the driver on the bus. These experiences were always very brief, and few and far between. My last hallucination was during an intense bout of psychosis in 2015, and was my first visual hallucination. I was walking down a pavement after jumping out my mums car in a crossroads in a moment of frustration and distress with my condition. I was trying to run from myself. What appeared to be a homeless man with a dark complexion approached me, and asked me what was wrong. I explained that I had been sick most my life, and I wasn't sure I had the strength to continue. He looked at me, and smiled and told me 'everything is going to be okay in the end Ren.' I had not told him my name. There was something so overpoweringly sincere about this very simple message, which brought with it an overwhelming feeling of inner peace, and in a flash, he vanished. My rational brain always linked these experiences to what the doctors have told me, that there are parts of my brain compromised by the autoimmunity in my body. That the myelin sheaths surrounding the complex electrical system that conduct my thoughts were damaged and compromised, causing these lucid experiences that I knew did not exist inside the physical world. The part of me that edges away from logical and rational thought always attributed these thoughts to some kind of otherworldly intervention, that made my thoughts the battleground of some spiritual tug of war. For a long time I never really acknowledged this part of myself, for with it brought the danger and stigma of sounding like a crazy person. I decided with my latest release, to the best of my ability, to capture and express this chess match of thought. Hi Ren comes out in just over 24 hours. I can't wait for you all to hear it.

by now, I'm sure you know Ren's story of mis-diagnoses, incorrect treatments, etc.........I believe the Pig/Butcher, which appears in many Ren videos, represents Ren's opinion of incompetent or uncaring doctors and therapists........the discordant vocals and guitar are intentions, expressing Ren's internal turmoil, as do the wildly blinking lights.....many of the chords he played are the "Devil's Chords", banned by the medieval Catholic Church from "approved" music........thanks for your reaction..........

Ren went years Misdiagnosed with stuff he didn't even have he had a recoding deal with Sony why working on his first album he got Sick and couldn't finish it so they parted ways he move back to Wales he would become bedridden for up 23 hours a day the meds they had him on for stuff he didn't have caused him to have psychosis he also got PTSD too but not from meds it would take years before he would get right diagnosis he has Lyme disease he went so long misdiagnosed that he has Brain damage Organ damage Joint damage he also has Mast cell activation syndrome he can only eat few things because his body has allergic reaction to just about everything he eats he also has ADHD he also got Ren play guitar bass drum piano produces his own music mixes his own beats beatboxes sings and can rap he was in band called the big push they do live busking you should do them doing I shot the sheriff/road to Zion/hip hop also this is live they had 3 camera set up recording he was in Canada getting treatment he has to have IV 5 days a week they put this thing on his head that help open path ways in his brain he take hand full meds 2 times a day

I subbed for more Ren. He is just leaving Canada now after a year and a half treatments for brain damage and autoimmunity. He now has MCAS which makes him allergic to almost all foods. I think he can eat 8.
He has a second channel called Renmakesstuff. He recently uploaded 8 short videos of him telling the story of his 8 year nighrmare even finding a diagnosis and treatment.
He is self taught producer ,singer director, actor and plays electric guitar, acoustic, bass, piano, drums, trombone, melodica and is carving out his own lane as a storyteller and artist that means to provide work that deals with real life and joins people together to solve problems. He had a #1 album in UK last October, which was rap, but new album will be more song and instumental. His authenticity and empathy are so inspirational. He will be performing again in July at The Secret Garden Party Music festival. Lots of new music and vudeos coming out this year

He’s one of the… strike that… he’s THE greatest lyricist of this time. He wears his heart on his sleeve and is as real about his struggles as a person can be.
His life story is deep and dark and inspirational.
To explain Ren and his background, at the age of 13, his father gave him a guitar and it wasn't long after that Ren began Busking on the streets of Brighton, UK. Ren is Welsh by the way. While still a teenager, Ren was discovered by a Sony Record Producer and signed to the label soon after. Sadly it wasn't long after signing, he was struck with a mystery illness and mis-diagnosed, which resulted him in receiving the wrong medications and treatments. From the age of 19 to 25, Ren was relegated largely to his bedroom and quite often bed ridden, his only solace was creating music in his homemade studio in his bedroom. Eventually Ren was properly diagnosed with Lyme Disease, which left unchecked had ravaged his body and also affected his mental health. He has of recent undergone treatments which have given him back some normalcy to his quality of life. Ren over the years has self taught and mastered multiple instruments, including the guitar, piano, bass, cello, etc. He from an early age displayed an adept aptitude for songwriting, producing his tracks and of course his vocal ability which spans across several genres. Ren is the literal genre bender, his own self titled style "Bardcore", Reggae, Rap, Pop, R&B, Hip-Hop, etc. He directs his own videos with the help of a close team of friends. Ren was also lead singer for an amazing band "The Big Push"(I highly suggest checking them out down the road) and also many collaborations with amazing artists like Chinchilla, Sam Tompkins, Orlean, BiBi, Viktus, etc. Ren's music library is vast and spans almost every genre. Ren a an artist through and through. He can sing, act, rap, play guitar and piano and more. His growth since Hi Ren is amazing, however, he has well over a decade or music under his belt.
Hi Sky, welcome to the Ren rabbit-hole it's filled with thousands (if not millions) of empathetic human beings who have the capacity to feel the pain of others. If you choose to dive in (which I highly recommend) you will find out the awful pain this young man has had to endure but has nonetheless emerged with the most positive attitude and hope for us all. I won't recommend any particular recording to visit in his catalogue next, they are all, without exception, brilliant and unique.
I am still watching your reaction, He is a lyrical genius and has a tragic story. I post this small explanation should give you a little incite. A lot of his music deals with his past illness. He is very very intelligent and pretty much a regular bloke in his vernacular.. LOL
Ren has been through some nasty shit, I copied this and post it on new reactors messages. He was bitten by a tick when he was 16 or 17 He got really sick from it and went to doctors and they could not figure what was wrong with him. When he had joint pain, muscle spasms, skin rashes, boils, internal organs started shutting down, And Doctors had no idea what was going on. He was loosing weight and had constant fatigue could not even stand to shower.. Doctors started sending him to psychological evaluations, They told him his mind was making him sick ! And started treating him for that with some heavy pharmaceuticals. And all that shit really fucked with his mind, He started believing he was crazy. And this went on for 8 fucking years !! 8 YEARS !! He pursued his own symptoms and lead to a Doctor that gave test for Lyme disease. Where he lived it was very rear to ever contract Lyme disease so he was never tested. When he went in described his symptoms the Doctor knew what he had. Ran the DNA test and found it in his system. However it has been in there for 8 years and has done a lot of damage to his body. He can only eat like 6 things his bones still hurt and the autoimmunity may never be healed.
He had to go into surgery to remove tissue to generate stem cells grown outside his body then under go treatment taking the stem cells to help with the autoimmunity and help heal his deterioration of muscle, and a very aggressive antibiotics regiment to cure the Lyme disease chromosome. That was in LA then he went to Calgary and under going treatment on the damage the Lyme left.. He is still there until June. Welcome to Ren he is a talent I have never seen. And I have seen a LOT !! He has 209 songs on u tube no joke I pretty much like them all new and old !!

It's that inner critic, the voice of doubt that plagues so many of us. That voice that says we're not good enough, that since we haven't had wild success, we'll never have it. Mine often tells me that i don't deserve success, or good things to happen to me. Imposter syndrome. Am i really doing anything original, or even worthwhile?
I spent over 30 years of my 56 years stumbling around the planet suicidal. That voice tried to get me to unalive myself more times than i could hope to count, and in ways "creative" as well as mundane. I fought against it ever when i didn't want to until i finally gave up fighting against myself in 2015. I had no reason to expect that things would get better, but I'd tried everything other than being myself, so i decided to try that. 9 years later, and it's been several years since i had suicidal thoughts.
So yes, i stopped "fighting" against myself which allowed me to soften, and the negative side got a bit quieter. It's not gone, but it's manageable most of the time.

Great musician + great lyricist/storyteller + great performer in personal union..and all done solely by himself as an independent artist...and as such he can´t be put into a genre box because he has the freedom to play with all types of genres ...which you can figure out when digging deeper through his musical catalogue which is actually huge + very versatile which will leave you always surprised + speachless + amazed at the same time because of his rawness + creativity + genuineness.
Actually you just opened an artistic + musical Pandora´s box which is really worth to look into.

Yep, you got it right! Ren's said that the song is not specifically about chronic illness, mental illness, or his music/creative process. It's about the human condition generally. Those things are referenced because he's telling it through the lens of his own life and those things have dominated his life but the overall meaning applies to every human being. It's also about accepting that darkness is part of us and plays a large part in creating who we are. It's part of life, part of existence. It's not something that you can ultimately defeat or banish. It's a frustrating waste of time and energy to attempt to do so. You can win battles but never the war, because it isn't a war, it's just how life is. Once you accept this simple, if unpalatable, truth, life becomes that little bit easier and the dark things become a little easier to deal with and to mitigate and believe me, he's had to deal with a LOT more darkness than your average human being! He's been through absolute hell. Even now, although massively improved, he remains chronically ill, with a host of associated conditions and in permanent, constant pain but at least he's no longer bedridden any more and is able to have a life now, after missing out on most of his twenties.
I can't recommend Ren, and his music, highly enough. He's a unique artist. A musical genius! A once in a generation talent and a wonderful human being too! Definitely react to more Ren! You won't be disappointed. You WILL be surprised... constantly! :)
Ren is so multitalented , he will find many ways to astonish you with his versatility and talent. He is also very caring, compassionate and intelligent and unflinchingly honest. I hope you continue to watch him as his messages are always from the heart. He can be funny, he can be dark, he can be a teller of truths we are afraid to talk about but he is always enthralling.
I think that’s the genius of this song. Everyone can extract their own interpretation and meaning. And that’s why so many people want to see how everyone else interpreted it. And what it meant to them. Not as a validation necessarily but more an exploration of humanity.
The tale of Jenny and Screech (and violet) is a trilogy, and should be watched in a single reaction. It's very heavy but a beautiful demonstration of Ren's storytelling abilities and guitar abilities.

A little history, Ren at 17 years of age contracted Lyme Disease. He went to see a doctor and he was misdiagnosed with Bipolar. So all the time he was receiving treatment for an illness he did not have, the one he did have was doing massive damage to him physically and mentally, giving him some brain damage. He spent 10 years that way, now thankfully in 2024 he is in Canada receiving proper treatment and is doing much better. Slowly but surely repairing the damage.
In Oct 2023 he went number 1 in the UK.

Up until I was 9 years old, I would intermittently hear a voice in my head that was not my own. The voice was distinctly different to mine, and always negative. It would self criticise or urge me to do things I knew to be morally wrong. The most peculiar thing about the voice was that it took no effort on my behalf to produce. My own thoughts always felt like there was a process that required effort to bring them to the forefront of my mind, this voice appeared as though it was spoken by another. The sentences felt predetermined like they had already been constructed.
I remember very vividly at 9 years old, becoming very frustrated with the voice. I stood in my back yard, internally screaming at the voice to be silent again and again, and it did. In a flash there was silence, to the point where my head felt like an empty room. I wasn't used to the quiet and that voice never returned. It almost felt lonely in my head.
When I got older I had intermittent bouts with auditory hallucinations where I would hear perfect symphonies, usually at night when drifting off to sleep. They were so clear that they sounded like they were emanating from a radio in the corner of my room. I knew they weren't there, but for some reason they never came with the feeling of fear. I also recall sitting on a bus at the age of 15, and hearing the sound of a crowded room, with about 100 voices chattering away, I was the only person apart from the driver on the bus.
These experiences were always very brief, and few and far between.
My last hallucination was during an intense bout of psychosis in 2015, and was my first visual hallucination. I was walking down a pavement after jumping out my mums car in a crossroads in a moment of frustration and distress with my condition. I was trying to run from myself. What appeared to be a homeless man with a dark complexion approached me, and asked me what was wrong. I explained that I had been sick most my life, and I wasn't sure I had the strength to continue. He looked at me, and smiled and told me 'everything is going to be okay in the end Ren.' I had not told him my name. There was something so overpoweringly sincere about this very simple message, which brought with it an overwhelming feeling of inner peace, and in a flash, he vanished.
My rational brain always linked these experiences to what the doctors have told me, that there are parts of my brain compromised by the autoimmunity in my body. That the myelin sheaths surrounding the complex electrical system that conduct my thoughts were damaged and compromised, causing these lucid experiences that I knew did not exist inside the physical world.
The part of me that edges away from logical and rational thought always attributed these thoughts to some kind of otherworldly intervention, that made my thoughts the battleground of some spiritual tug of war.
For a long time I never really acknowledged this part of myself, for with it brought the danger and stigma of sounding like a crazy person.
I decided with my latest release, to the best of my ability, to capture and express this chess match of thought.

by now, I'm sure you know Ren's story of mis-diagnoses, incorrect treatments, etc.........I believe the Pig/Butcher, which appears in many Ren videos, represents Ren's opinion of incompetent or uncaring doctors and therapists........the discordant vocals and guitar are intentions, expressing Ren's internal turmoil, as do the wildly blinking lights.....many of the chords he played are the "Devil's Chords", banned by the medieval Catholic Church from "approved" music........thanks for your reaction..........
