a dnr is a do not respond, so if you go into a medical facility and they know you have a dnr they wont treat you unless they determine youre of right mind to reject the dnr.

DNR means that if you have a pulse they shouldn't revive you.
DNR means do not resuscitate, so if your heart stops or you are comatose or otherwise incapacitated beyond a certain degree, they let you pass on.
