I actually bought PowerSaves so that I could duplicate my legitimately caught shinies so that I could give them away to viewers of the stream. I then got lazy and used it for max items, but I've never actually used it for anything else. You're right though, I hate hacks, but I think they're useful for certain things. Particularly being able to unlock event only areas in Gens 4 & 5 to access Pokémon. It sucks that there's areas in games that are unexplorable unless you went to a certain event or went online at a certain time.

The odds on the very first cast are 1/1366, similar to having the Shiny Charm already, and elevated by the Shiny Charm to 1/820. I may be wrong, and the odds start skyrocketing on the _second_ cast, but that's my understanding.

The very first shiny I found in my boyfriends Omega Ruby game, it was a taillow. Encountering shinies is more likely with the shiny charm; might take some time to encounter your desired target.

Another thing, I saw yo didn't catch the Ivysaur before it was shiny. You should probably do that to up the chance of critical captures and to make Repeat balls a second option if quick balls fail/if you dont use quick balls/if you're not playing in a cave or at night and cant use Dusk balls

I got my Shiny Charm legit. :) .. I worked for it just after ORAS came out, long before I even thought about buying a PowerSaves device.

you should do a living dex(every pokemon including evoluitons and preevolutions caught in 1 computer) so shiny repeats wont be as bad ;)
