I found the angry rant funny. But I have a counter argument. She doesn't show void because she wasn't born made out of void, it might be a mixture of void and spider silk. I'm only saying this since it makes sense in my head when her items are in a cocoon. Also sorry for my grammer mistakes.

The bug that broke the seal of binding appears to be a lumafly, the same kind that is found in all of hollownest’s lanterns. Possibly these could be more important/powerful than previously thought?
Lumaflys have a single bright point of light along with glowing wings in the general anatomy of a fly whereas the seal breaker glows brightly throughout with similar anatomy to a dragonfly
If you look at a lumafly, it appears to be a single point of light with wings. If you look at these flies, they have a fundamentally different structure. It is possible they could just be less glowy, but I think it's not likely.
@@sparkypack in my opinion the transition is probably a gameplay mechanic I also think that the transition should have closed in on hornet instead of spewing out so that it feels like she becomes a cocoon. In the bench after dying hornet will be sitting in darkness and after the player moves, she can see all around the room but it’s just an idea fir this transition

Before nine months ago, I am ashamed to say that I was once a "Hornet is Void" believer. I know, disgusting. It was a truly dark time for me. I can not even begin to express just how sorry I am for all the hollow brethren I have tainted with my ideology. Everyday I regret my actions as little ghosts of my past still continue to haunt me. I've encountered a random glitch where a life blood mask just appears under a regular mask and flashes in and out of reality. It can never be hit so I get fewer masks and it only shows when the mask it's underneath breaks.

I think its really neat that Deep Docks take elements from the cut Hollow Knight area, the Bone Forest. It was going to be instead of Ancient Basin, and be comprised of bone and lava. Cool to see them bringing back the concept.

Honestly I agree with him. I felt Hollow Knight was too combat inclined sometimes. The white palace was the only place that challenged your platforming ability, and (as far as I know, I am like 85% done with the game) that place is done after you get the half of the Kingsoul. In contrast, not only you have a TON of bosses in the main game, now you have Godhome, where you can fight EVEN HARDER versions of them. And honestly, after spending nearly 2 to 3 hours trying to defeat Nightmare King Grimm yesterday and dying over and over again, that massive boss rush to get to Absolute Radiance (which it seems to be the hardest boss in the game as well) does NOT sound fun at all to me. Idk maybe it's just a case of having to Git Gud (TM) or something like that, I'm not the "hardcore" Hollow Knight fan that some people are.
judging by your comment you haven't seen it yet, but there is an optional super hidden zone inside the white palace, while it doesn't stop this statement from being true, it is another platforming area to see

I have not done the path of pain, but there was a lot of swearing and screaming involved when climbing up to the throne room... Anyone who can do this without the wasp charm is OP... Or has no life, it can only be one of these two IMHO.
Lace is actually trying to save you from the final part of silksong, the Pantheon of Hallownest and Pharloom, which has every boss in Hollow Knight and Silksong consecutively and if you die you restart from the beginning

I am only distantly interested in the lore, but still baffled that people would think hornet is void. The game is pretty ham-fisted in driving the point the siblings are not the same, and quite the opposite.
I just assumed that tidbit about bugs losing their memories and minds when they leave Hallownest was nothing but lies and propaganda by the King. After all, quite a few come to Hallownest to explore it's depths and quite a few leave during the game as well including the knight himself.

Here is a conter argument and a counter to the counter. BuT ThE PuRe VeSsEl GiVeS SoUl. The hunters journal say that it's shell gives off a pale light, so that pale light is probably reminiscent soul.
My first thought was exactly this! Maybe an added comment for comedic effect that will everyone who _knows_ go: "Aha! I get that. We also mention it if they exist."
I can't believe that people say Hornet is void. She literally says "Though our strength is born of similar source, that part of you, that crucial emptiness, I do not share". She had just mentioned that the knight is imbued with void after going into its birthplace, so that emptiness she talks about is void, which she explicitly says she does not share. The strength they share is their father.
Also, in the Dream No More Ending, you literally see all of the void siblings (The Knight included) passing on, since their task is finished. Hornet stays behind.
As far as Pharloom's Folly, they may be talking about Hornet herself, as her mother was Herrah the Beast. She's supposed to be pretty, frail and fine in appearance as the hunter describes her as nimble. She's a spider, hence the woven of faith and toil and has been one of the few fighting against the infection and trying to save Hallownest in the last game. She never really had a chance to interact with her mother or father and rarely let her emotions get in the way of serving the kingdom and the last part kind of implies the game. Hornet is a spider, or a beast as her mother was once named. She's about to go to town, and their folly was messing with her.
I think Hornet is void in the same way the hollow king is void. The hollow knight and the other pure void beings are special cases that has their void be more physical instead of evaporated as they are physically made of it.
I think the reason lace still gives off silk is because Hornet, like the weavers, knows the art of sort of ‘twisting’ soul she gathers form enemies into a silk. Lace probably isn’t haunted but gives off silk because that is hornet turning her soul into silk.
I think personally that she is physically connected to the needle and sucks life fluids like bug juice and blood off her enemies. This can be evidenced by her lack of a mouth and her lack of hunger. If she really had no mouth she would be hungry. And if she was hungry she would die all the time. Because we only see her die to enemies, this means that she is not hungry, which means she has a mouth. And since we don't see her taking in anything edible from other parts of her body, that obviously means she is taking it in from her only point of contact with edible things (her fellow bugs), which is her needle. We've established that her needle has a mouth and she sucks nutrients from other bugs it. We also know that spiders in real life produce silk out of organic components they find in their prey. Therefore, my theory is that Hornet uses her extra limb(like a proboscis) to eat her enemies alice, that the remains of the enemies pass through her stomach and are digested, and that she uses the nutrients from them to produce and spit out silk. This also explains her name, hornet, as she has a proboscis like a bumblebee, and hornets look alike to bumblebees in real life.
I got to know you because someone mention you in a coment on this demo, saying you would make a longass analysis on a 10 minute gameplay. I was not dissapointed.
The “invisible health” glitch that occurs when healing also exists in hollow knight, but the only ways to trigger it are with deep focus and Baldur shell, which nobody uses
I started Hollow knight after watching a TH-camr up untill the Soul Sanctum and I decided the game looked cool. Hadn't even fought the Mantis Lords by the time my impatient ass knew 60% of the game's lore.

In that "secret boss" fight at the beginning of the game, a brazilian streamer named Cellbit managed to get there and tried to beat it. After many failed attempts, he reached an employee to ask if the player could actually kill it in the demo and she said that you will only be able to beat that bug when you acquire a skill (or something like that) further in the game.
@@madflam3192 I mean, for me it was easier than fighting bosses. I finished path of pain in 40 minutes without too much trouble. I spend over an hour on bosses + rage. Platforming is precise, so the only bullshit is your own mistakes.
Things I hope to see: -Dreams and Void expended upon -The Hollow Knight as a NPC -Mentions about the fate of the White Lady and Unn -Bretta -At least 1 journal entry about wtf happened to the Knight after creating or summoning the Shade Lord

(Also, dreams were a thing in Hallownest with moth tribe, Dreamers and Radiance. Pharloom doesn't have anything to do with dreams, plus Hornet doesn't have a dream nail) (Also, White Lady and Unn are unrelated to Hornet. Her parents are Pale King and Herrah)
@@neyte7313 I just want to see a continuation of her story Dreams are not tied to the Radiance, Hallownest or the Moth Tribe, the Radiance is a higher being that lives within the Dream, anyone can create their own Dream world if they want to, also the Grimm troupe is still around, which means Nightmare is still a thing Hornet has nothing to do with Unn and not much connection to the White Lady, but they are still extremely powerfull entities, without the Radiance who knows what they will do to Hallownest, that's why I wish we can get at least a mention to what is going on in Hallownest after the Radiance was killed

I believe he won't make an appearance in Silksong but I would love to hear him mentioned as I really grew attached to him and he deserves recognition for his legendary feat.
@@neyte7313 I doubt Bretta is dead. While we may know that Quirrel and The Knight are the only known characters to survive beyond the Howling Cliffs. I think for Bretta to make it to the Fungal Wastes where she is rescued I think she has some abilities in survival. She is probably a terrible fighter but maybe she can run really fast? Who knows?

Path of pain was so fun for me and that’s because i have played a lot of platforming games and at least you’re not doing the same thing over and over again like in god home .
I just figured out why the enemies have a stagger animation! It’s hard to catch but you can clearly see hornet hit the enemy multiple times and the hits do not break it’s stagger. This is different to hollow knight, in which hitting a staggered enemy nearly always results in them becoming unstaggered. hope this helps anyone else who was confused about the animation!

what I find interesting is that poem also applies to Hornet's character, they only see her looks, they see that she has faith, they forget that she has a cause to serve, and when she wakes up (seal of binding being destroyed) everyone will see that she has a beast's nature; as in her mother was Herrah the beast.

The weird butterfly things appear in multiple places in the White Palace in Hollow Knight. They kind of just... fly away in the background. Noticed them when first getting to the White Palace on my own. I was like "I-it's the things!! From that one scene in Silksong!!".

I've encountered a random glitch where a life blood mask just appears under a regular mask and flashes in and out of reality. It can never be hit so I get fewer masks and it only shows when the mask it's underneath breaks.

Honestly I agree with him. I felt Hollow Knight was too combat inclined sometimes. The white palace was the only place that challenged your platforming ability, and (as far as I know, I am like 85% done with the game) that place is done after you get the half of the Kingsoul. In contrast, not only you have a TON of bosses in the main game, now you have Godhome, where you can fight EVEN HARDER versions of them. And honestly, after spending nearly 2 to 3 hours trying to defeat Nightmare King Grimm yesterday and dying over and over again, that massive boss rush to get to Absolute Radiance (which it seems to be the hardest boss in the game as well) does NOT sound fun at all to me. Idk maybe it's just a case of having to Git Gud (TM) or something like that, I'm not the "hardcore" Hollow Knight fan that some people are.
judging by your comment you haven't seen it yet, but there is an optional super hidden zone inside the white palace, while it doesn't stop this statement from being true, it is another platforming area to see

She had just mentioned that the knight is imbued with void after going into its birthplace, so that emptiness she talks about is void, which she explicitly says she does not share. The strength they share is their father.

Personally I agree with mossbag, there should be more platforming however not as challenging as the white Palace.
As far as Pharloom's Folly, they may be talking about Hornet herself, as her mother was Herrah the Beast. She's supposed to be pretty, frail and fine in appearance as the hunter describes her as nimble. She's a spider, hence the woven of faith and toil and has been one of the few fighting against the infection and trying to save Hallownest in the last game. She never really had a chance to interact with her mother or father and rarely let her emotions get in the way of serving the kingdom and the last part kind of implies the game. Hornet is a spider, or a beast as her mother was once named. She's about to go to town, and their folly was messing with her.

I think the reason lace still gives off silk is because Hornet, like the weavers, knows the art of sort of ‘twisting’ soul she gathers form enemies into a silk. Lace probably isn’t haunted but gives off silk because that is hornet turning her soul into silk.

I think personally that she is physically connected to the needle and sucks life fluids like bug juice and blood off her enemies. This can be evidenced by her lack of a mouth and her lack of hunger. If she really had no mouth she would be hungry. And if she was hungry she would die all the time. Because we only see her die to enemies, this means that she is not hungry, which means she has a mouth. And since we don't see her taking in anything edible from other parts of her body, that obviously means she is taking it in from her only point of contact with edible things (her fellow bugs), which is her needle. We've established that her needle has a mouth and she sucks nutrients from other bugs it. We also know that spiders in real life produce silk out of organic components they find in their prey. Therefore, my theory is that Hornet uses her extra limb(like a proboscis) to eat her enemies alice, that the remains of the enemies pass through her stomach and are digested, and that she uses the nutrients from them to produce and spit out silk. This also explains her name, hornet, as she has a proboscis like a bumblebee, and hornets look alike to bumblebees in real life.

In that "secret boss" fight at the beginning of the game, a brazilian streamer named Cellbit managed to get there and tried to beat it. After many failed attempts, he reached an employee to ask if the player could actually kill it in the demo and she said that you will only be able to beat that bug when you acquire a skill (or something like that) further in the game.

Dreams are not tied to the Radiance, Hallownest or the Moth Tribe, the Radiance is a higher being that lives within the Dream, anyone can create their own Dream world if they want to, also the Grimm troupe is still around, which means Nightmare is still a thing
Hornet has nothing to do with Unn and not much connection to the White Lady, but they are still extremely powerfull entities, without the Radiance who knows what they will do to Hallownest, that's why I wish we can get at least a mention to what is going on in Hallownest after the Radiance was killed
If you mean The Hollow Knight as like your character in the first game then hes kinda dead or sealing the radiance

I believe he won't make an appearance in Silksong but I would love to hear him mentioned as I really grew attached to him and he deserves recognition for his legendary feat.
@@neyte7313 I doubt Bretta is dead. While we may know that Quirrel and The Knight are the only known characters to survive beyond the Howling Cliffs. I think for Bretta to make it to the Fungal Wastes where she is rescued I think she has some abilities in survival. She is probably a terrible fighter but maybe she can run really fast? Who knows?

I just figured out why the enemies have a stagger animation! It’s hard to catch but you can clearly see hornet hit the enemy multiple times and the hits do not break it’s stagger. This is different to hollow knight, in which hitting a staggered enemy nearly always results in them becoming unstaggered. hope this helps anyone else who was confused about the animation!

what I find interesting is that poem also applies to Hornet's character,
they only see her looks, they see that she has faith, they forget that she has a cause to serve,
and when she wakes up (seal of binding being destroyed) everyone will see that she has a beast's nature; as in her mother was Herrah the beast.
I've always said this: if Hornet is void, how did she survive the dream no more ending? All the void drains out of the room and the shades cease to exist. Checkmate Vornets.

The weird butterfly things appear in multiple places in the White Palace in Hollow Knight. They kind of just... fly away in the background. Noticed them when first getting to the White Palace on my own. I was like "I-it's the things!! From that one scene in Silksong!!".
