I remember a track (solo or something) on Load sounding a lot like a Kyushs song, and that was the album after they toured together. But everything above and that is natural stuff that seeps in and will always appear in artists music.
Tbh you can‘t really write a song anymore that has not been written before… There are only 12 different notes, so when James is writing new riffs he instantly rip’s off 10 other riffs without knowing, so do i and so do you when you write „new“ material… About two months ago i wrote something with my band (Xonor, no ad 😅) and we were really happy with the result. But while we were still in the studio we realized „Oh fock, thats the exact same riff from that song from that band just different notes, but the exact same rhythmic pattern…“ and a month ago when i played darts at a bar, on the radio there was a pop song played that has the same riff too 😂 So the band before us „stole“ it from them and the pop band band probably stole it from some musician from the 80‘s 😂 As there are only twelve notes, there are not many different rhythms there too. Of course you can write song that’s neven been written before, but then you literally have to play the weirdest chords in tremolo picked (Otherwise there would be a jazz or prog song that would sound the same 😂) at 500bpm on a 3/27 time signature 😂 I don‘t know if that will sound better than the song that comes from your heart… So don‘t hate on them, they weren’t intentionally doing that. So actually Seel and Destroy is COMPLETELY different to princess of the night from saxon. The only one that really seems stones is the sweet home alabama riff. Thats the only riff they have stolen and that just because they themselves said it, otherwise it would not be stolen, because they are not 100% the same riff 😅
If they sound similar to other songs, it’s because that’s what they like. They’re not purposely trying to steal stuff. If I were to write songs, they would probably sound similar to Metallica. There are only so many notes on a guitar, and millions of songs. Some songs are bound to have similar riffs, but when you’re the best, you’re under a microscope.
Wow a riff shows similaities , invent the wheel , look at music in general there are certain elements showing up because the musicians are inspired, took it and add theit own flavor to it .
Well they didn't really steal our riff because there is no way they knew our band at the time. Anyway the second riff of the unforgiven 3 is exactly the same as the opening riff of our the end of being. Pretty big coincidence or not? Their song is from 2008. We wrote ours in 1990 or 1989 not sure anymore. Fact is we never released any song until we split in 1992. I released our songs in 2021 as a solo project. So listen for yourself th-cam.com/video/vc1r5tOv7W0/w-d-xo.html and this is the old practise room tape th-cam.com/video/cgyLA4I6Xok/w-d-xo.html i guess the unforgiven 3 you'll find yourself
They definitely altered the ideas plenty enough so as for it not to be stealing. People unfairly bash Metallica and this is a good example of that. Many jealous losers in the world.

Gaskin - Burned Alive - Sounds a lot like Metallicas Phantom Lord and the start of No remorse before they both existed…. Hmmmm
Metallica’s early sound is based off of the far lesser known NWOBHM scene that Lars obsessed over. Their brand of thrash was stemmed from there.
couldn't agree with you more!🎸💥
the first example, seek and destroy, is pretty suspicious really...
indeed!🔥🎸
The final conclusion in this video is the best part tbh
great that you like one part at least!💥🎸

agreed! pretty difficult task to make 100% original music today..💯🔥
My best mate said it best, "there are only so many riffs in the world".

exactly, they did what they liked, and it turned out fantastic!💥🎸
Yeah…. Sure.
Metal Militia has the same power cords as Am I Evil? By Diamondhead, and that was the one time I saw very heavy inspiration
7:00 there’s an earlier version of this riff: Strawbs - Down by Sea, year 1975
mason william's classic gas - the unforgiven
I guess there are even more songs that sound alike out there..
yeah, absolutely!💯🤘
I think this thing about Excel is dumb. The songs doesn't sound that much alike...

I don’t see it to be honest but I guess I get why others would
I believe this is true. I also believe that Kirk Hammett is not that great of a guitar player, at all.
😢😢😢
At least a good guitar player compared to Lars as a drummer

I'm no Metallica fan, but some of these are a stretch. Similar, but not the same.
Enter Sandman/Exit for Freedom
There is nothin new under the sun
