  • He is an in depth video on how to change or install knobs and bearings on your fishing reel. Hobie-Wan Kenobi goes over common issues when installing knob and bearings in a fishing reel.
    These wood knobs are much lighter than the stock knobs. Knobs are an underrated way to reduce reel weight. I also like the look of skinny knobs on my BFS reels.
    The knobs I am installing the Roro Lures wood knobs. They are on the Roro Lures website and also at Japan Tackle.
    Want a clicking drag for the Daiwa Alphas AIR TW??? Stay tuned, turn on notifications (bell) and I will show you how.
    I hope this video helps you out. Comment below for any questions. I will help you out.

    That's sweet! Thanks for sharing. Might want to get those tools.

      I always resisted buying specific reel tools because of the cost. Roro came out with affordable tools that are pretty good quality

    Nice video. I'm still trying to figure out which style of knobs I like best. Been trying different aluminum, wood, and cork ones. Nice to see your process, because I always feel like the installation is never like the recommended diagram. I'm always using an extra washer or spacer to get a good fit.
    Also looking forward to the clicker video.I saw it one ebay and then on RaWr's page and still haven't pulled the trigger on it. Looks like a nice, well made clicker, but it's a little more than I want to spend on a clicker without seeing any reviews.

      I will show the entire installation process on the clicker system.

      @@HobieWanKenobi cool, it looks pretty easy to install and more precise compared to some of the other clickers. I'll be interested to see what you say about it before I shell out about $100+ to buy and ship one.

      I hear you. I spend plenty of time finding other peoples experiences with products before buying.

      Might have to buy it if you recommend it in the video. Looks like the guy invested a lot of time to make a quality product.

      He has put a lot of work into it. Many prototypes and tweaks. Makes the seemingly high price worth it knowing he is so meticulous (check out his Instagram) and he is producing them in small batches.

    Hey where do you get those knobs?

  • @DAWYTEGUY

    When I take the caps off my knob I don't have a screw in the middle It's just straight broad how do I get those handles off

    • @HobieWanKenobi
      @HobieWanKenobi  ปีที่แล้ว

      If there is not a screw, that means the knobs are riveted to the handle (non removable).

    I have changed some reels handles and knobs and found them loose. Looking now for shims, I have realized 4x7x.5 are so hard to find. Any idea where to buy a ton of shims that fit?

    • @HobieWanKenobi
      @HobieWanKenobi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I amassed them from buying knobs and such. the shims aren't exactly 4x7. They are slightly smaller than 7mm and slightly bigger ID than 4mm

      @@HobieWanKenobi I figured where they would encompass/protect the bearing. The shims can really help a smooth free spin for me at times.
