I have a question about prop firms and their spreads. I'm currently trading with Maven Trading, and I've noticed that the spread for the SP500 ranges from 11 to 17 Pips, and almost never goes below 11. Is this normal? Are there other prop firms with more competitive spreads for SP500?
Most brokers and prop firms will have spreads that are all very similar, especially on the major indices. The only was to get them lower would be with a real broker who has a loss leader and do it much less. There are always fees involved in trading, be it spreads or commisions, but as long as your strategy takes this in to account and does not rely too much on small gains, it will work out. I have not seen the spreads on Maven, but maybe other firms could have better spreads as they are larger and better infrastructure
They are legit, but have recently had some problems with data feed issues and cancelled a lot of payments from people who they claim have used this to make money, when in reality it made no difference. I have had no problems with them, but would say to check out discord and have a chat with others

Maybe check out Topstep for futures ES trading. Been there since Oct and they're pretty decent

I have only ever had good experience from them and the team. The only bad stuff is my own stupidity trying to do better than I should

I've given up with forex/cfd prop firms and gone back to futures trading, and the futures prop firms are more reliable....
