If presented by Johan: "Hai. Todei weir going tu check out som udder yutube shannels abowt gittar geir. Less gou." As a fellow Swede I find both Johan and his accent very comforting.
My friends from Gothenburg and Gavle even remark on Johan's accent. It is pretty much what an American hears when they think of "Swedish accent" to the point that a certain puppet chef was designed around it and on TV in the 70s.
My wife is from the Norrköping/Linköping area and we get a kick out of Johan’s accent so much. His “hi” is becoming iconic. I’ve taken to referring to him as an amp guru shark.
Class move giving other channels their flowers, Leon. My favourites are Ask Zac - telecaster and Fender history videos Puisheen - offset style setup/information Fazio electric - vintage amp repair/builds/restoration These are American channels and mostly discussing Fender style but hey that’s what I like and they are the antithesis of the clickbait heavy and monotonous copycat guitar ‘content’ with a genuine warm and very experienced approach
Johan is great! Eventually after several years I saw him outside the foodstore, I live in the same area. It happened to be that we also have rehearsalsspace at the same place.
kudos for doing this Leon, didn't know some of those, the other John Browne's awesome, when I reached out to ask if I could use/link one of his free IRs in a fractal preset he kindly agreed, top bloke, and i think Johan's 'Let's go' while talking into his mobile phone is ingrained in my brain 😄
I like the Sonic Drive Studio Channel for hearing well dialed in Amp sounds. The Scott Uhl Channel has a lot of great information about useful gear for live gigs, and MIDI. Matt Bolton Channel is a Looping savant. LoFiLeif is for off the charts MIDI Guitar madness. Tory Slusher is a tapping wiz. The Leo Gibson Channel has good technical comparisons of Modelers, Profilers, and Captures. Leon, there is a Channel called "Clickspring" by an Aussie who creates videos on the Art of Clock and Watchmaking. His skills, and craftsmanship is mesmerizing. The video production quality is excellent. Everything he does is a wonderful work of art by a true Master - Enjoyable, relaxing, and inspiring.
Only thing that bugs me about sonic drive is that all his tracks are doubled. Like... ALL of them. Just give me a single mono track. On the other hand, he probably has the best channel to showcase gear in a fully produced environment.
These are about the only guitar related channels I watch! They really understand tone, not like all the other which maybe know how to shred, but use crappy plugins.
Great suggestions! Will have to check them out. One that I like is "The Charismatic Voice". She's a trained opera singer and vocal instructor, and has very limited exposure to popular music, and does analysis of vocal techniques and styles on rock and metal songs. Seeing her reactions to first listens of music I've loved for decades has beed instrumental in reminding me how I felt when I first heard them, so it's good "therapy" against jaded old age....
For music theory: Signals Music Studio & QJamTracks For a smile on my face: Tim Pierce Guitar For beautiful guitars and great phrasing: Rather Be Riffing
Great recommendations, happy new year Leon! I had these people you've mentioned already subscribed, great channels indeed! I also been following a lot Euge Valovirta, Pipp Priss and Resington. Kyle Bull is also great, as is Mark Gutierrez, they all cover different things, so you can say, different strokes for different folks!
He is John Browne in his own right, he doesn't deserve to be known as the "other". For me he is THE John Browne, as I've known of him first than the "other" 😂😂😂
Leon! I’m so grateful I found your channel when I picked up the guitar again after 2 years of burnout. It’s one of my main joys in the weekdays to follow your stuff and as a long time Fractal user it’s a great source of inspiration and knowledge on that matter as well. I’m developing my own channel now and you are one of my inspirations. Cheers from Sweden
Nice vid. I am pleased to see 8Bomb getting a mention as I have pushed his channel a few times on the Fractal forum. His craftsmanship is outstanding and dare I say it, better than anything Gibson puts out at crazy high-end prices.
Landon Bailey’s dry Canadian humour and for beginner to intermediate blues the Tim Daley show and yes love Johan’s channel. Of course yours as well mate 👍🏽
Perfect timing for this post was thinking the same while scrolling through YT while on holidays I've been stunned by the other John Browne's subs I love his content 1 of my fav's , Zilla is a go to and Johan Segeborn well what can't you say. keep up the great work, Thanks Skip J.
BEST VIDEO OF THE YEAR so far. Great work Leon. Can you play some more blues? I really appreciated what you did last year when you sat for a relaxed, soulful session.
Thanks Leon, good stuff, I have an old 1974 JMP Superlead and a 1978 Red blackback loaded 1960b cab so Johan Segebom especially interesting for me, keep up the good work mate! love your channel and evenhanded approach to various styles of music ....which an old 67 year oid like me can still relate too. Cheers :-)
Johan Segeborn is a gift to guitar players. I shop speakers and amps using their demos. If you can't afford to know what a marshall 1987x sounds like, he demos it in a way that you can compare other amps to and yeah great channel The other john Browne does this super super well too
Hey Leon, you have a good point. There’s too many guitar oriented channels, and most of them are not worth my time. Then again, I’m old. There are things that annoy me immensely and it’s probably more about the way it is all presented. Unfortunately, I’m already subscribed to the channels you recommend. Good stuff. I really enjoy Michael Nielsen’s channel, or Rick Beato’s interviews. And this Australian guy…
For someone who mentioned - I think - a lack of English speaking prowess you certinally got some interesting content options across and with great articulation. Thank you.
Thanks for this. I'm less likely to come back to a channel "talking about what they're going to be talking about when they get around to talking about it..." which was already in the title in the first place. Or an excuse for them to play at length disguised as something informative. I'd shout out "Rich. Words. Music." Down-to-earth upbeat gent, no pretension, and a focus on guitars and gear that skew affordable. His demo of guitars and gear cover many genres and playstyles, and the snippets are long enough to hear the tone then move on to the next, with thoughtful summation.
I like Michael Neilson. His intro playing is really put together, and rivals Pete Thorn in that way. And being a fairly new Fractal owner/operator, Ive been frequenting Cooper Carter, and G66, along with your content on the subject as well.
As guitar faces go (and there are some shockers) yours are actually quite good and it always looks like you're genuinely enjoying what you're doing. Keep making those faces :)
1:03 Jeff Beck's Squier was indeed "content rich." ;) I was going to mention Johan Segeborn but of course Leon has good taste and has found this already. And yeah it would be great to get back to guitar and not various great players and content creators talking about celebrity guitars that have just been released because the topic is timely.
Gary Hiebner is really well done for music production, dialing in tones, and covers. Scar My Guitar is good for an average joe upgrading cheap amazon guitars. Guitar Guts for rad paint jobs. Tanya Shpachuk for ASMR guitar restores. Oscillator Devices, Does it Doom and Fuzzlord Effects for, obviously, heavy tones.
I used to see a lot of guitar education and song walkthroughs but now all I get is gear stuff. I need to find more teaching channels. I assume the gear stuff pays better for youtubers but I miss the education.
I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your channel over the years. I appreciate your gear reviews and 5 minute licks more than you realize. There are a few others that I follow as well. Guitar Max is a great one for gear reviews. Jon is just too loud is another one I came across recently that I’ve taken a liking to, and finally a gentleman by the name of Glenn DeLaune is someone I’ve followed for years now. His work on guitar tones is excellent and he is a heck of a great musician!!!!
The divisive negative type of channels are rampant, playing guitar, learning a language, lifting weights, just about anything is game. I am very quick to slap a "do not recommend" on those channels.
TH-camr is not a job, repeat after me TH-camrs! LOL. Seriously mate, agreed, I also get so so annoyed with the state of GearTube. Lots of really cool stuff out here but nothing irks me more than the coordinated new product video releases, and the clout chasing and reaction Russian nesting dolls. Some of the most learning in my gear life has been from the likes of you and That Pedal Show blokes. Johan is pure joy; he just cranks the good stuff and I love hearing how things 'should' sound. Example, I'm not a Marshall guru at all, so between him and you, I can sort of start trying to dial in my Marshalls. Thank you for that.
I need to give a huge shout out to Tanya Shpachuk's channel! She's a Ukrainian luthier who does absolute wizardry on guitar repairs and her videos are really nice to just kick back and relax and watch. Also big props for her and her team for working and still producing content (sometimes on generators for power) while all that mess with Russia is going on. That can't be easy.
Guitar TH-cam has a become a very weird place. A few of the big American guys have just become shills for sweetwater and other companies, while offering no real insight on the gear itself. Once they got an audience base the real personal touch disappeared. Anyway, lots to be said on the topic and this isn’t the time or place. Love your stuff LT, thanks for shedding light on these channels!
Yeah there's definitely a "hustle" element now. It's cool seeing someone like ToJB do videos they want to do but then getting the opportunity to work with companies like Fane demoing their gear and providing free IR's for all to try.
@ Agreed! I feel like there’s a middle ground to be found where you can still advertise for companies, because let’s be fair everyone’s gotta make a living, but still be unique in the approach of how or why.
I would like to give a shout out for Sam Vilo and Jon is just to loud channels. And the best channel belongs to Leon Todd, the most humble and a great guitar player. There is not a single other TH-camr that comes across so unpretentious as you.
Nice one - Great idea for a vid 😎👍 I'd recommend "Super Danger Studios" Easily my favourite Guitar Channel these days. He does gear reviews in the style of nostalgic 80's movies. 😂👍 Production values are insane - Also has a criminally low sub count vs content quality
Barefaced audio (bass and guitar cabs) have some real informative stuff that have like under 1000 views some of them.. “totally rad guitars” who hasn’t done a video in like 8 months shows his collection pretty thoroughly and kinda I like watching an late 80s early 90s demo tape..
2 of the 5 channels is all about speakers / cabs and use the same IR every time :) great video though Leon and this is my favourite guitar gear channel as it’s the only one that is honest and to the point
Michael Nielsen’s Big Hairy Guitars is the gold standard for me. Love his channel!
He has a great channel!!
Best audio productions, great player and a good guy.
Mike is GOAT
Some say if you look the word "legend" up in a dictionary, you'll find a photo of Leon!
Thanks so much!
g'day, legends, time to test some BEEEETAH software.
If presented by Johan: "Hai. Todei weir going tu check out som udder yutube shannels abowt gittar geir. Less gou." As a fellow Swede I find both Johan and his accent very comforting.

Ask Zac - telecaster and Fender history videos
Puisheen - offset style setup/information
Fazio electric - vintage amp repair/builds/restoration
These are American channels and mostly discussing Fender style but hey that’s what I like and they are the antithesis of the clickbait heavy and monotonous copycat guitar ‘content’ with a genuine warm and very experienced approach
The Other John Brown for the win. The man’s in depth speaker experiments is priceless
Yep, John is awesome. 🇦🇺
Thanks man - I didn’t know of any of those, but I’ll be sure to check them out. Cheers
You're welcome! I hope you find them interesting.
Johan is great! Eventually after several years I saw him outside the foodstore, I live in the same area. It happened to be that we also have rehearsalsspace at the same place.
Leon, you and your subscribers would truly enjoy Euge Valovirta from Finland. Outstanding player with huge sound and a very entertaining channel.
Euge rules. Seen this? th-cam.com/video/xN2gksh-EME/w-d-xo.html
I second Euge, Leon. Great producer for those of us into Scandinavian metal.
Glorious! Or as Ian Gillian would say “Superb!” I somehow missed this so thanks for sharing. You should launch a Ragdoll & Chyhra world tour!
Five Watt World and Middle Aged Gear Junkie for guitar gear history.
Jens Larsen for jazzy licks, hints, and tricks.
Great suggestions!
kudos for doing this Leon, didn't know some of those, the other John Browne's awesome, when I reached out to ask if I could use/link one of his free IRs in a fractal preset he kindly agreed, top bloke, and i think Johan's 'Let's go' while talking into his mobile phone is ingrained in my brain 😄
Jon is a riff lord and his tracks sound great.
I've been watching Johan Segeborn forever now. It is so cool what he does.
Thank you for your support!
You're awesome! Hopefully we can meet one day and I can buy you a beverage and talk guitar 💪
These are about the only guitar related channels I watch! They really understand tone, not like all the other which maybe know how to shred, but use crappy plugins.
Great suggestions! Will have to check them out. One that I like is "The Charismatic Voice". Seeing her reactions to first listens of music I've loved for decades has beed instrumental in reminding me how I felt when I first heard them, so it's good "therapy" against jaded old age....
Love her channel! Basically the only "reaction" channel I can deal with
Some great shout outs there Leon. 8bomb custom does some great work, ive learned alot about relicing pickups from him.
Fascinating dude hey, so make interesting techniques
Great idea for a video. I’m SO over clickbait channels these days.
For music theory: Signals Music Studio & QJamTracks
For a smile on my face: Tim Pierce Guitar
For beautiful guitars and great phrasing: Rather Be Riffing
Signals is excellent.
Subbed to all of them right now. Thanks for the tip!
Putting others before himself. That’s a true gentleman right there..
I feel absolutely honored to be mentioned alongside of all these legends. Damn, nice things like that make my day, so thanks a lot. 🙂
Keep doing what you do Pipp, your enthusiasm is infectious!
Mark Gutierrez is one of the most creative luthier around. I also highly recommend his channel. And his videos are so relaxing, and inspiring.
Johan Segeborn was the first guitarist on youtube I began to follow, John Browne videos are mindblowing
He is John Browne in his own right, he doesn't deserve to be known as the "other".
For me he is THE John Browne, as I've known of him first than the "other" 😂😂😂
@@JohnWiku I had no idea about who is John Browne, I googled it and it is either a composer from the 1400s or a british business man
Reading this made my day. Can't wait to see and hear more dude!
@ Thanks hombre. You’re welcome to tune in
Robert Baker is fairly light on the drama topics & more focused on playing guitar better.
Kyle from Audio University is another recommendation I would share. Very analytical and straightforward content.

Any excuse to play some blues!

I actually like your style Leon, stay tru brother lover your authentic rock n roll tone and feel ❤
This is great, more information for me to sponge up! It's often tricky finding guitar related channels that I can enjoy, so this is very helpful.🙏🎸🤘
Happy to help, I know the struggle!
Johan Segeborn is a gift to guitar players. I shop speakers and amps using their demos. If you can't afford to know what a marshall 1987x sounds like, he demos it in a way that you can compare other amps to and yeah great channel
The other john Browne does this super super well too
Really interesting video ! Thank you for sharing !
Johan is a you tube legend! Where else can you "shekk out" so many tasty amps?
I have watched three of the five channels you recommend here. I have subscribed to all five now. Thanks Leon.
Awesome!
Hey Leon, you have a good point. There’s too many guitar oriented channels, and most of them are not worth my time. Then again, I’m old. Leon give us a tour of your new home studio
Gotta get it setup first!
Leon, thanks for being a class act. The world loves to divide and argue; You choose to be positive and genuine. Appreciate this very much.
I play bass, so Janek Gwizdala is pretty much my favorite bass „TH-camr“. 🎶
Love his stuff!
Gave them a follow. Thank you, Leon!
Don’t forget the amazing acoustic guitar channels
Good stuff. 👍 Awesome intro. Added several newbies 🙏🎸🎶🤟
Happy to share, great channels all around.
I like Michael Neilson. His intro playing is really put together, and rivals Pete Thorn in that way. And being a fairly new Fractal owner/operator, Ive been frequenting Cooper Carter, and G66, along with your content on the subject as well.
Mike is great all around. Got to hang with him last time i was in the states and we had a ball.
As guitar faces go (and there are some shockers) yours are actually quite good and it always looks like you're genuinely enjoying what you're doing. Keep making those faces :)
I don't have a choice 🤣
He doesn’t have a ton of videos but Jim Lil has some great stuff.
Was already subbed to two of those great youtube channels thanks for three more.
Always glad to share the love!
How does John present Dada?
This cracked me up. Took me a second to realize Leon was talking about "day-da" 🤣
Mostly sweating and stumbling over my own tongue, tbh
I recommend the: Tim Pierce Guitar, Benn Jordan and Dan Worrall channels.
1:03 Jeff Beck's Squier was indeed "content rich." ;)
I was going to mention Johan Segeborn but of course Leon has good taste and has found this already.
And yeah it would be great to get back to guitar and not various great players and content creators talking about celebrity guitars that have just been released because the topic is timely.
Bursting at the seams with content!
One of my favorite things about Johan is how well his older videos stack up to his newer ones.

MusicTheoryforGuitar has some of the very best lessons on youtube. Particularly love his exercises focused on musicality, have helped me a ton.
john brow deserves 3x the scubscrivers he has ... his channel is a pool of knoledge
Not guitar related but Life Of Boris helps me alot with delicious slavic recipes that the whole family can enjoy. Blyat.
I found Justin Ostrander last year... I can highly recommend "the guitarist playing on songs in Nashville"!
Great player with loads of real world experience. Seems like he'd be a fun hang.
The divisive negative type of channels are rampant, playing guitar, learning a language, lifting weights, just about anything is game. I am very quick to slap a "do not recommend" on those channels.
“The TRUTH”, “you won’t believe…”
I’m tired, Boss. I don’t like being psychologically manipulated
TH-camr is not a job, repeat after me TH-camrs! LOL.

TPS is network TV quality, amazing videos!
Lovely fluffy friend you have.
Thank you! 😊
I need to give a huge shout out to Tanya Shpachuk's channel! Some of my favorites are Jacob Deraps (EVH incarnated), Michael Nielsen, Jack Gardiner, and Shawn Tubbs (best hair in the biz, lol)
Shawn Tubbs is definitely a good one and he's a really nice guy.
One of my mates from Perth plays drums with Jacob, both monsters!
I would like to give a shout out for Sam Vilo and Jon is just to loud channels. And the best channel belongs to Leon Todd, the most humble and a great guitar player. There is not a single other TH-camr that comes across so unpretentious as you.
Sam is a killer player, always pulls great tones too
Nice one - Great idea for a vid 😎👍
I'd recommend "Super Danger Studios"
Easily my favourite Guitar Channel these days.
He does gear reviews in the style of nostalgic 80's movies. 😂👍
Production values are insane - Also has a criminally low sub count vs content quality
Super Danger has an awesome channel!! Completely agree!
On it! Looks amazing
I’m not big on relicing , but 8bomb is very interesting to watch.
Seeing it done like that is art itself!
Barefaced audio (bass and guitar cabs) have some real informative stuff that have like under 1000 views some of them.. “totally rad guitars” who hasn’t done a video in like 8 months shows his collection pretty thoroughly and kinda I like watching an late 80s early 90s demo tape..
Johan is awesome. Great stuff
Let's go!
G'day Legends = brilliant
Escape To Rural France - a few guys restoring a chateau. I’m an addict. :)
ON IT!
Tha leon the legend
Yes I think the same
Phillip McKnight.
Phil is a YT OG
Another good channel is Leo Gibson (not affiliated with Gibson)
www.youtube.com/@LeoGibsonGtr
thank you for this legend! 12tone is another channel you all may like because he do the analysis through art. :D
www.youtube.com/@12tone
Jim Lill has the best guitar channel. Doesn't upload regularly, though.
i block clickbait vids
2 of the 5 channels is all about speakers / cabs and use the same IR every time :) great video though Leon and this is my favourite guitar gear channel as it’s the only one that is honest and to the point
Don't forget meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Kitty
