This 1911 has everything I want in it except the 1911A1 style arched mainspring housing which I will have installed. You ever try wilson combat magazines sir? They’re the ones I have found the most reliable.
I don’t even try to use 10-round magazine in 1911’s anymore. They aren’t reliable across 1911 platforms. It’s not enough for me to find A 10-round mag that will work in A 1911 when they won’t work in all 1911’s.
carried one old Colt 1911 in 38 super back in the 80's...never had any issue and used several times catching bad guys
I would check the tension on that extractor. Colt is infamous for non tensioned extractors.

Great video. Beautiful handgun. I have never had an issue with CMC 10 round magazines in any of my 1911s. I only use factory loads though.

I have this gun runs great. Butter smooth slide.
Most of my 1911 mags are at least 15 years old. I guess I should invest in some new ones.
I only run 7 round mags
I heard that Sig Sauer 45 ACP 1911 magazines are wonderful and reasonable.
I’ve use a few of them. They’re not bad but Wilson and CMC are top notch

What would you prefer to go to battle with in handguns?
I’d prefer a rifle but if only a handgun was available I’d that a Glock 17. Just my opinion based on personal experiences

2 world wars, gulf war, Vietnam. Truly battle tested compared to a platsic glock i own.

It would make a fine first 1911. Everything you need in a good defense 1911.

1911A1 Springfield Armory Mil-Spec running 230 GR. Round Nose Full Metal Jacket with Factory 7 round magazines.. If it isn't broke, don't fix it.
