- "Be Still, My Soul (the Lord is on thy side!)" is a beautiful Christian hymn that speaks to God's love and care for us during our most difficult times, and weaves together a whole series of scriptural themes and references to biblical events including when Jesus calms the storm (Matthew 8:23-27, Mark 4:35-41, and Luke 8:22-25).
Originally written in 1752 by the German Lutheran hymnwriter Catharina von Schlegel, translated into English in 1855 by Jane Laurie Borthwick, it is most popularly sung to the tune of 'FINLANDIA' by Jean Sibelius.

It was originally a Lutheran hymn, and can still be found in many Catholic hymnals. A beautiful Christian song. 😇

Maybe the Mormons will come around to the One, True Church if we share our Gift with them.
Please seek God in Spirit and in Truth and not in the fleshly desires of the world or religions of such. Jesus follow him alone, God is Spirit and we need to be born again of his Spirit to return to him so he doesnt say “Depart from me I never knew you”. Follow Jesus and not Catholicism. Ex Buddhist saved by God in my room 5 years ago.
