      well thats why im hoping the residents in east county and south bay dont complain about the horn like the ones in oceanside and in downtown have, oceanside is getting a qz now too, del mar has the waysides, the horn areas in the county are going extinct at a rapid rate

      The only quiet zone is downtown san diego. Everywhere else they can blow their horn.

    I enjoyed the video. I've chased this train a few times. I even got my little neices to go once years ago and we had fun following the train. The video brought back some great memories. Thanks.

    I live 3 miles away in El Cajon and can hear the train horn about 1am usually every few months. I wondered why a freight train needed to get to a small industrial area and if they had more than one stop. I'm guessing the materials the company needs are raw materials that's only really available by rails. Thanks!

      Thanks for watching flatpat, I live nearby the trolley tracks and I hear them a lot. The San Diego Imperial Valley Railroad brings Boxcars loaded with paper and also covered hoppers with pellets.

      No ,,, you don't get to ride the trolley home late at night,, BACUSE OF THAT ONE GRAFFITI COVERED BOX CAR BEHIND THE OLD FURNITURE STORES... MTS gets side lined every night,,, so that this ONE box car can get moved...ONCE A WEEK, yet MTS gets sidelined 7 nights a week due to agreements that were Made ALMOST 40 YEARS AGO.

    At Arnell Avenue (2:50 in the video), how did the crossing signals activate before the switch was thrown as the circuit hadn't been completed yet? Or are the signals activated by the crew member?

    • @sdrailproductions
      @sdrailproductions  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Joe good question, the signals were activated by a little box by the Switch handle.

      Cool...I have seen many crossings where there is an activation box but never by a switch. I forgot to say great video!
