How to communicate this charming and alluring atmosphere of a fantasy story through cover design? Ok, we'll reveal this little secret, but only because you subscribed to our channel 🤗
Today we will show you how we designed this magical book cover for Corbin Buff's fantasy The School at Divinitum ✨
✨ First, we worked on the images of the main characters. We combined two pictures to create an image of the protagonist that matches the description in the book. Then, we picked the perfect picture that represents the old, wise, and powerful wizard.
✨ Since the author was looking for a character-based cover, the composition was pretty simple and clear with two MCs in the center. We picked a view of an ancient building for the background to create a dark academia atmosphere.
✨Finally, we changed the color scheme to deep purple and violet to set the mystical vibe, added bright silver swirls of magic, and placed highlights and shadows to make the image more contrasting and catchy 🙌
