  • After a peaceful night, we woke up to a crisp winter’s morning, beautiful sunrise and the pleasing sounds of nature at Enjo. Our plan for the day was to explore, enjoy and appreciate the flowers in the Biedouw Valley, especially the stretch between Enjo Nature Farm and the Doring River. We were not disappointed as it yielded some of the best flower scenes we’ve witnessed in the past few years. Following the severe recent floods, the river currents were still flowing strong in the Biedouw which meant we could unfortunately not complete the last crossing over the Biedouw River in our quest to reach Uitspankraal and the Doring River. After a satisfying flower viewing afternoon, we filled up Goat’s tank at Mietjiesfontein, where the friendly Fourie Swartz hosted the “toll gate” for passing visitors and we left the Biedouw for our next destination at Grasberg in Nieuwoudtville.

....you're a month too early....normally ( in the old SA, September ) but lately staring in August.. depending on rainfall.
    Blame Global Warming ..

Alwyn, this was during the 2023 flower season and right after the devastating floods in the Cederberg, so because of the early rains, the flowers did bloom much earlier
