Hope you enjoyed the video. In between my big uploads I will also upload some stuff like this to keep the content rolling! And also just to clarify, this video is not meant to be taken to seriously, it's just some harmless fun. ;)
Just a disclaimer that there are cases of movies getting good reviews by paid critics in rotten tomatoes, so you can expect the same for game reviews as well and that implies critics giving games that are bad with good reviews and giving good games bad reviews which is why you should never trust these review websites ever and just do your own research
Sorry but his game is mid at best. Is a good mech game but not a good AC game. Is as mid as ACV, but for different reasons. The biggest offender is the stagger mechanic that warped the game loop in some sort of "rush to stagger the boss ASAP" kind of gameloop. It's boring. If you wanna play sekiro, go play it. That mechanic doesn't belong to an AC game at all. If you would had leraned the boss movements correctly, you woudn't need to stagger it in the forst place. And it's a forced mechanic because eventually, no matter hard i try, the boss will eventually get staggered just shooting at it. Limited parts selection too and i agree and they still had managed to fuck up the game balance having so few parts to tweek. Bad AC game
This game was a test run. They are going to beef this series up and dont forget to criticize the bad and praise the good because fromsoft will listen. Expect a lot more armored core in the future. Personally im excited.
Yep. If this was a success, they might release an expansion to add what the community is requesting, additional load outs as we can only carry weapons for arms and back. Also I wanted sniper rifles or long range rail guns, but we still don't have that. Also it would be great if they can import old AC parts specially weapons.
@@shootercade1299 Not really. In the old AC games they have tremendous range and shoot 1 bullet that does tremendous damage at extreme range. The linear rifles are mid range weapons like the rifles. And the first one you can get is a rather short range weapon since you need to be in shotgun range for it to not bounce off more armored targets. Sniper Rifles in AC games have always been more similar to Rustys Railgun than a short/mid range rifle that you can charge for more damage. I mean the linear rifles in AC6 has the same ricochet falloff regardless of whether you charge them or not.
@@Caralast Hallelujah, brother! Sniper rifles, sniper cannons, shoulder gatlings, vacuum cleaner legs all need to come back. Hopefully DLC will happen and add in all of these things from the old games.
"the game forces you to play one specific way" False. I significantly changed my AC and play style frequently to adapt to different missions and bosses.
I beat the game 3 times without using songbird and gatling gun gun once. Played 370 speed agile build and big chungus max load bipedal and everything works.
@@madgainz7871 Yea I honestly think that when people say that the game forces you to choose a specific build it's just a skill issue imo. Everyone goes on about tanks, gatlings, songbirds and zimmermans, meanwhile I beat the game with a laser pistol just fine. Sure, it is easier with zimmermans, but it in no way forces you to take those.
Eh, I get where it comes from. Balteus doesn't allow for a lot of build variety when you first meet him. And if the person isn't engaging with the garage half of the game then it's a cycle of "hit wall, look up meta counter build, repeat."
That's what I love about AC6. It uses combat encounters to teach you how to use the parts you unlock, but after you beat the game you can go back and beat it all with whatever build you want, so long as you're good enough. I beat NG++ with a Lightweight double trigger build, and I never felt like I needed to touch a meta weapon
The term "souls-like" is being used too loosely. A game is a souls like when it has a good amount of its characteristics gameplay elements (where many of those characteristics are originally from other games). AC6 is too different to be in that category. If the game was made by Capcom's monster hunter team and simply added the action of salvaging parts from defeated bosses then it would be called a monster hunter game but with mechs, heck I think if MegaMan Legends came out today, they would say its inspired by Dark Souls.
The real funny thing about it is that a lot of the souls game mechanics came directly from armored core. Souls pulled more from AC3 than AC6 pulled from souls.
As a reverse joint enjoyer I was really sad to see that they only give you 2-3 choices for any leg type that isn't bipedal, but I hope that we will get some more variety in future games, maybe even a new leg type alltogether (let's hope that doesn't end like the hover legs)
Every 1st AC game in a new gen tends to lack in a few areas when it comes to part variety for a few parts, if the history of the series is anything to go by then this game will receive a sequel/expansion that will add some severely needed variety in a few areas. I'm definitely disappointed when it comes to back weapon variety as they are all some sort of missile launcher/bazooka/plasma/lassr weapon
@@hadouken_irl5654 Yeah my first AC game but I really noticed how most back weapons were basically just missiles and I really wanted something kinetic but there's basically only 3 options, drone is meh, stun needle is so strong it's boring, and Trueno is NG++ 😭
At least you have a couple options coming from a quad leg enjoyer. Do hope we see hover legs return as well, I imagine they’d have absurd ground speed as their inherent bonus
Honestly judging by the discourse and some of the reviews, it's good on FromSoft to not put too many parts in, I miss stuff like radars, weapon arms, aux parts from AC2 like missile defense etc. But seemingly some people can barely cope with what's in, putting that much depth of customization in would probably overwhelm anyone who has no prior experience or frame of reference for the series, I remember that myself when getting into AC2 way back after its release, I bounced hard and took me a good while to really ''get'' the game, granted, limited internet access and language barrier were aspects too. AC6 is essentially a fresh start for the franchise, if they decide to go along with it and make more games, I can see them slowly adding back in the features of the previous games that are missing now.
You can see the difference of bad score and mid score in user reviews, the fact that bad score has higher percentage than mid score shows they review bomb the game or just hate fromsoftware for being "too good"
These games usually come out with a second one that expands on things from the old game and usually let you load up your old save from the last game to have all your parts
I dont get the hate from some of the old gen dudes. Been playing since AC1's demo disk and honestly 6 feels great. Dont get me wrong, I'd love more parts and customization options, but this is already a lot more diverse than some pervious games. On top of that, the people saying it is a souls-like clearly never played AC3, if they had they would realize that all of the souls stuff is just AC3 with knights and magic.
Sounds like a of people got filtered...I absolutely love this game, and this is coming from someone who joined the fandom this year and love the older gen games (up to early ps2 era).
I do wish there was co-op in this game. Like it doesn't even have to be the main story missions they could do what deamon x machina does and give you extra missions to do in co-op
Survival mode isn't that awesome if you think about it since you basically own the smaller enemies and putting bosses in coop outside their boss arenas wouldn't work If they do coop what I would like to see is a tower mode for those who don't know what that is it's basically you start at the bottom on first floor with a weak mech like maybe jailbreak body parts and a basic kinetic gun and as you progress you either get a random selection of parts and have to choose 1 to replace the old one or you get cash "just for that run" to buy pieces and put slowly build your AC... Each floor is like a small arena missions and every 5 or 10 floors you get a boss, miniboss or AC "maybe even 4 ACs for a 4v4" if all players are killed the progress resets if one makes beats the floor the rest revive for the next one "maybe with a small penalty like less cash" the floors can be random or specific it doesn't matter They can even make more than one tower each with a unique theme and the last one can be extremely hard to challenge skill ,teamwork and builds There can even be a timer for leaderboards to see which team did the best "by team it can be just 2 players I don't mean that it has to be 4"
Twitch numbers were very high for the first few days. Also, streaming is extremely skewed towards specific genres like battle royale. This would be like saying DMC5 is a bad game because it didn't hold high numbers for a long time.
ya os tuning after completing ng++ kinda just disappears cause you'll own every unlock. wish there was some way to have some legacy parts tuning. that would give purpose behind credits after you unlock every part after ng++. i might be cool to bring back ECM (or some target lock break mechanic) which could make the head parts a little more fun or customizable
Ah so you do get more chips That both makes ma happy and sad Woulda worked a bit better if the only chips you got were from ng That way its a bit more unique Makes me happy only cause i “want everything” lol
I think that the limited weapons selection is on purpose. It's an abandoned science/mining colony planet Hands offer quick interoperability compared to arm cannons. Every wasted kilo sent is money spent badly. The MTs and other enemy mecha are comparable to ACs in 1-3 games, meanwhile our mech is an improved 5th game mech while not being a warcrime to just operate like the Lynx in 4th.
Ac6 has the real core of ac in it. I absolutely loved customizing my mech for different missions, finding what worked best, and if thats not the heart of armored core than you are wrong about what armored core is
Sorry but his game is mid at best. Limited parts selection too and i agree and they still had managed to fuck up the game balance having so few parts to tweek. Bad AC game
I literally NEVER played a Armored Core game, I also haven't played many souls games (only DS2 and Bloodborne) but this game feels pretty damn amazing, and its gotten me into the Armored core franchise and fromsoft as a whole.
OMG I started cackling at the ThinkLiveLife guy when he started on taking out radar! Like dude most of us older players would forgo the radar for more firepower anyway lol
I was introduced to the series via the AC6 announcement. I played For Answer to get an idea for what the series is like & I fell in love with the series instantly Also if you want cool perks like these emotes and other cool benefits then become a channel member!
I really would like to have a mini-map/radar function. The scan function and compass bar with red dots is not very intuitive. These are super-advanced machines, and they don't have radar? Come on.
Older gen armored core games had it. Honestly, older gen graphics are objectively worse than right now, and that would be an issue if it comes to identifying threats and evading it. Now they removed it cause the SFX is better.
I never played the older AC titles, but I personally believe they limited the complexity of AC builds and available parts on purpose to make this game more accessible to a wider audience that may have never had an interest in the series before. The 3rd and 4th gen games look the most appealing to me currently as a new fan of Armored Core, but they seem much more complex to pick up. At least to me.
"The game plays too fast for console peasants" Me who bumped my camera sensitivity to max in order to keep track of every enemy possible: whatchu mean, 🅱️❓️
Love how these people keep comparing it to other AC games when its clear they've never played any. And comparing it to Dark Souls when AC has been around for 20 fucking years.
2:10 the thing w this and ac6 is there's an added incentive to NOT spoil the game for yourself by watching others play. AC, 6 included, are all very player-oriented stories and experiences, and it takes some of the charm away if you learn a secret via watching someone else do it, compared to putting together the pieces yourself
I'm sorry, I agree with you on a lot of this but hearing anyone unironically claim that AC6 is more *SEKIRO* than Souls is just hilarious to me. The game is entirely about customization and adaptation, micromanaging spacing, fishing for poise breaks, and then DPS-checking the enemy before they get back up - none of which is present in Sekiro. These are all the same key points that define Elden Ring's combat. Sekiro, meanwhile, is all about precisely choreographed rhythm, defense as offense and offense as defense, and highly interactive boss patterns that change dynamically in response to the player - none of which are present in AC6.
AC6 feels more like AC1 than Elder Scrolls 5 feels like Arena... Why does a game need to stick to it's roots entirely when the original game came out over 20 years ago?
Game looks really good and visually impressive. You won't see 16k textures when you zoom in with a 20 times magnifier on things, so the fuck what?? Guess what it still looks really good and I for one enjoy a game in the recent games taht doesn't make my PC sounds like a jet engine when ever im even ina menu...
Agreed. I appreciate high graphical fidelity. But not having the best graphics ever doesn't mean it looks bad. This game looks and feels slick. Many times, I stopped to take in a veiw too. The game looks good. As long as the game isn't ugly, it's fine with me. And this game ain't ugly. It's just plain awesome.
I think some people just don't get the art direction of the game. Perhaps because too many studios are making games with a high saturation and contrast look to make the graphics seem better. Or are the kind of PC players who think a game has bad graphics if it is not stressing (Most expensive graphics card available) to the absolute limit.@@treasurewuji8740
Some strange reviews there but also some valid points. I really like VI. It feels like the 1, 2 and 3 generations (which I was hoping for) but there are still some issues like parts diversity as you mentioned. Strangely, one of the biggest issues I have with it is the opposite of what I was expecting.....its too linear! The mission structure feels too narrow with very little choice. I'm now starting to wonder if a more open world (which people were afraid would happen) might have been a better design.
My only criticism was the lack of parts and part variety. But it's already a ton of fun to play around with what we have. Build diversity is more of a skill and game understanding issue. I don't really use gatlings, songbirds, needles. And I S-ranked pre-nerf bosses multiple times with different builds.
Balteus, Sea Spider, and CEL240. Based on my observations: -Balteus' missile tracking and frequency of flame sword usage was lessened. -Sea Spider's laser tracking and frequency of melee attack was lessened. -CEL240's frequency of sword slash usage, it's projectile speed, and cross slash tracking was lessened. These are just my own observations based on fighting them so much before and after nerfs.
What I dislike the most is how much the game is built around stagger. I am aware stagger existed in previous titles, I just don't like how strong it is in 6. To me it feels like easy mode when I can make a target hold still for a couple of seconds. I do miss not having radiators, weight distribution, back and side jet choices, and a more complex energy management. I also think the tuning from AC:4A is the best form because of how specific you can get with your bonuses. I also miss the multitude of other stats they left out such as bullet velocity and better target tracking via arms. Other than that I've been having a total blast with the game, and it nice to not play with the orbies AC and have real colors.
Stagger is the cause of pretty much all of AC6's problems. It would be a much better game without it. It isn't a fun mechanic for PvP and you're generally forced to build around it for both PvP and PvE. This means that weapons that aren't good at stagger (or at least have a huge direct hit modifier) suck. It also makes the bosses boring, samey, and either way too damn hard or way too damn easy depending on if you're abusing stagger.
Firearms specialization on arms is tracking, but I agree with you about bullet velocity. It would be really nice to be able to compare weapon's bullet velocity without having to test them.
@@sinAnon6689 i DO enjoy using dual zimmies (i a shotgun enjoyer in any game that involves shooting) but I legit had to stop using them cause they really are op as fuck. Now i'm using dual duckett handguns and having a blast on Dante MK II lmfao
Not everyone is required to like everything people can dislike something for their own reasons just don't make shit up to sound like it's worse than it is.
I’ve never play an AC game before, so AC6 is my first game and so far, I’m loving it. If I had to complain about one thing, I would say that the missions tend to be rather short.
That's how it's always been. It's better that way with things like Ammo costs, replaying the mission, S ranking (S ranking in ACFA used to reward you with that games equivalent of OS chips).
I think we should have a V:II Snail reacts to bad AC6 reviews video. Snail is a snotty asshole but that's exactly why it would be so great to have him roast the bad reviews.
I had straight up never even same or heard of Armored Core before about a year before the initial announcement trailer just by chance when watching a video that mentioned Fromsoft used to make them. And when I saw Fromsoft and something other than Soulsbourne. And when this got released I was so excited to see how Fromsoft designed a game other than soulsbourne. And while there are DEFINITELY A LOT of soulsbourne elements in the game. And yes there are despite some people trying to claim its not soulsbourne like at all... it is. You can see the soulsbourne elements that just simply run through Fromsoft's veins at this point. And I watched a lot of footage of the older games and what's super interesting, those same elements have been there from the very beginning. Which blew my mind because that means that a lot of the soulsbourne elements actually originated from from the old armored cores which was a really cool thing to discover. But I had never touched one or heard of it before and when I first started playing I didn't really get it at first but it still was incredibly fun. Then the loop clicked. I started building out specific builds and experimenting with replaying levels with different weapon combos. And yes again it is more like Sekiro in its combat, VERY much so. But seriously saying Armored Core 6 ISNT soulslike is just kind of dumb. It's made by the same company, who have used and evolved the same mechanics for decades. But again that's NOT. A bad thing so I really find dislikimg the souslike comparison so much? It's a god like game serious, made by the same God tier developer so why is it bad to point out the MANY MANY similarities between souls and Armored Core. The other aspect to that is that many of those mechanics and elements were there in the original Armored core games. So Fromsoft has been using and evolving the same mechanics and gameplay from Armored Core to Soulsbourne and back to Armored Core. So it's just kinda dumb to say it's not very similar to soulsbourne when it very much is. Yes you move faster, and there are less melee weapons. But the OS tuning is upgrading with points earned through combat (just like souls), small enemies that can still kill you but still pose little threat to the big bosses that are the real show. You have a limited number of healing items that work EXACTLY the same as souls. Which yeah healing isn't souls dependant but the way the system works is exactly the same as souls. The way that enemies and bosses are designed and work is extremely similar to souls. And so on. But again THATS NOT A BAD THING. It's all the better for it with each piece having been refined and tweaked over decades. Its a great game, made a great developer and is very similar to soulsbourne which just makes it even better. If you haven't played it and you enjoy challenger fighting games like soulsbourne then you will almost definitly like this game.
One little issue with the OS tuning really only comes up in NG+. On my first playthrough I was constantly resetting it change what i unlocked depending on my build, but in NG+ you get enough OS tuning chips that you can literally have everything unlocked. Theres no optimizing to be done when it gives you everything. But that being said its the best game ive played all year and has turned me into an Armored Core fan
I would play online more if FromSoft added co-op to AC6. Also I want sniper rifles so I can rebuild Ghilliean. As for the lack of initial content: I suppose FromSoft is testing the waters to see if this game will have traction after their recent decade of success.
I love this game! Yes it's hard but feels great when you finally get past the "hard bosses." It's the first fromsoft game I wanted to play and happy to finish it, at least once at the moment. I'm hoping for dlc and much more content.
10:40 If Armored Core VI was made by Fromsofts C-Team, most developers would instantly piss their diapers at the mere notion of their A-Team delivering an experience to rule them all. Most gamers would then die from boner as well.
Ngl, I hope they make an Armored Core Collection on PC like how they're making a Metal Gear Collection on PC, I want to play all of the AC games without having to worry about finding working vintage consoles for the OG games
People really like to pretend that a zimmerman is pointed at them forcing them to play "the only build". While the zim-bird combo is amazing, there are plenty of viable builds in pvp and more so in pve. Also, I feel like people need to revisit the old AC games. While I grew up with them and loved playing them, there is a lot people complain about in AC6 that was in the old AC games that they venerate.
I dislike this too. Or the people who seem to think that PvP balance is the most important thing ever. I halfway suspect that this attitude is from toxic people who want to gatekeep fromsoft games as "Get good skill issue" games and don't like that particular builds are better then others. So they talk about "lazy strats", "Cheasing the game", and "I beat (insert boss here) before patch1.02" because they want to maintain a sense of being above other people. It's also why there are people complaining the game is "too easy" while so many people are saying it's too hard.
I think that the no co-op is a deliberate and good choice by fromsoft in order to tell the story that they wanted to tell. A good portion of the plot is about how a single individual's choices and actions can make a difference. And about how the corporate society found in the game is isolating and dehumanizing to the individuals in it. I think some of the impact would be lost if you could have someone else along. Also I don't see any good in universe explanation for how there could be another mech along.
I wish there wer some PVE missions ourside of the standard Sortie story. And it's great that their's a good amount of variety but I wish there was more. It'd be cool to see things like mines, bolts (like crossbows), maybe melee weapons on my right arm dammit lol. I love game, it's my first Armored Core game and I think for what it is, its a perfect gateway into this genre. Hopefully they expand the game via updates, like putting those extra PVE missions in both Sortie and NEST.
I had never played a mech game before, but I’m a huge FromSoft fan and have 100%’d Sekiro and Elden Ring, so I decided to give it a shot. I’m currently reaching the end of my 3rd playthrough of AC6, and I’m just now realizing that it’s my game of the year.
I totally agree with the limited parts selection, especially compared to 4 and For Answer. However I really dont understand the insane toxicity vehind some of these reviews, it feels like most of them dont actually know what Armored Core used to be
That replenishing health bit.. THANK YOU finally somebody said It Add to that Not every from software game has to be a souls like by definition Spoil or speculation Not gonna lie the last ending made me think It was all related but It might have been just a visual nod to the other games
If I can work the stun needle into a build I almost feel like cheating lol. Strapped it to a mostly alba build with a Zimmerman, laser Lance to swap out with the Darth Maul lightsaber, and that thing is fast and fun with a big punch.
The hard lock, while not strictly required, was basically necessary to help controller players keep up with mouse and keyboard. For anyone remotely decent at shooters with a mouse, keeping the opponent in your sights is trivial, and if they can do it why shouldn't controller have an option for it.
I do not care for streaming... it might be apart of gaming culture, but not at the same time, it's easily ignored. But I just want to play games, as do 99% of gamers, audiences on twitch are micro Cosom to gamers... I spend my time gaming, not watching some eejit gaming.
I find it hilarious that many of the reviews criticizing either a departure from AC’s identity, or something regarding the DS elements can easily be pointed to the pre-release content explaining the design choices for AC6. You know, if they weren’t lazy.
I think the biggest thing that makes me laugh is when people say “this isn’t Armored Core because they changed/didn’t add X” Now, there are some truths to a lot of these, namely optionals and tuning; but as stated, OST kind of replaces that. The big thing is really simple - how many numbered AC titles have been identical to their predecessor? I’m not talking continuations like For Answer, or Ninebreaker. I’m talking AC1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Each one is considerably different from each other. The “AC Experience” IS those changes that lead to each title being distinct to one another!
And the fact that it's been several years sense the last one came out. Both what is expected from games, and fromsoft as a studio have grown and changed.
You can't equip whatever loadout and play the same way Everytime. The forced playstyle is just the easiest muscle brain way to play. Heavy impact and staggers
At this point if I see anyone that gives negative reviews about the game I'm just going to assume they kept getting filtered by the first boss or Bateus 😂
The problem with people saying that it's not "the true Armored Core experience" is that 1) a modern game with the gameplay of old gen Armored Core would be absolutely hated by the mainstream gaming audience of today and 2) there's already multiple generations of Armored Core that all play very differently from each other. From Soft made the game they figured would have the most widespread appeal to both general audiences and old fans alike. It was never meant to be a copy of the old games, but make something new using the gameplay themes that people enjoyed.
The only way to play AC6 aggressively. Kick boost is a must to abuse! It feels really at home how the mech move like from previous AC games. I just didn’t like the AC can heal. Damage is the pilots consequences, honestly they miss a lot of game mechanics from the last raven, (weapon break, limb damages, overheating and first person view).
The game is somewhat easy if you cheese with double zimmy. Except for the ng++ vs ALLMIND. This one took me about 5 hrs alone. Although, not every attempt at a boss will be be consistent. U might miss some shots or an opening after a stun and have to restart.
I beat the game with a speed build with only 7806 ap and my second play threw I went threw without shoulder weapons and my 3rd playthrew I did it with the handguns you unlocked in the beginning of the game
I thought the game was too easy, I've S-Ranked everything and the only AC I die to even once in the arena was Ayre because of the OP Coral shield. I think they should've made the "True" ending a real 1v6, give the Vespers their real AP/repair packs and damage and then we're talking. I spent 12 hours when I first faced Malenia in ER trying a 1v1 without summons etc but didn't really get caught on anything in AC6. I used Dual Vientos, Songbirds, Chainsaw and it just obliterates everything. I even did a run with LOADER 4 (with the terrible Assault Rifle) it wasn't much harder aside from fast moving enemies like IBIS or high AP AC's like Michigan and G5 with his barrier.
People complaining about dodge, this is probably the first game where shielding is really viable option. (I know 4 and 5 doesnt have shield but cant remember earlier games). Personally I want them to bring back super weapon from 5, probably mini map, sniper rifles and something like Answer or Motherwill boss fight (the one they have is damn joke of a boss).
The flaws are not enough to push me away- this game is amazing and I will be playing the hell out of it for a long time. Especially if they support it with dlc content.
I mean in ACFA you get literally one slash. This game added one slash, 2 slashes and a charged slash. That's 2 extra moves from previous games. It's fine.
All these people complaining about the easy difficulty of the combat encounters between bosses must not have played any of the games from the earlier generations. Killing the mobs was always easy. In the case of the first three generations, aside from having to get used to the controls and the fact that bunny hopping was basically an unspoken mandatory movement tech, the main way difficulty came in was in the form of making sure you had the right kit for the job. This involved balancing ammunition count and raw damage based solely off intel from your briefings, and the game still absolutely mercilessly punishes you by _heavily_ penalizing you in the post-mission screen, with enormous repair costs, ammunition costs, and forcing you to continue into the next stage of the story if you failed a mission, with no option to redo a failed mission and putting your profit in the negatives unless you go out of your way to reload the save. If they really want the "classic AC experience" then they could sit on a cactus. I, personally, welcome From Software's approach of making the first Armored Core game in a literal decade as approachable to newcomers as possible, while still keeping the best aspects of all of the games around, _and carefully making sure to not bring in any of the bad aspects from their previous experimentation, like the Overheating system from Last Raven, or enemies having resistances that can reach full immunity to specific damage types like in AC5/Verdict Day._ The way I see it, AC6 is From Software's way of both bringing the old AC formula up to modern standards, as well as setting the new baseline of what to expect from the series moving forward. They're playing it relatively safe, being careful to not fix what isn't broken, with the most experimental and unique they've gotten in this entry being the introduction of elements like the ACS/Stagger system, taken straight out of Sekiro, in order to incentivize more aggression and engagement in boss battles. I don't blame them for playing it safe, I laud them even, but I also do expect we'll see yet more experimentation with mechanics as they get back into their stride, to be included in upcoming DLC or the next game. Also, while I do agree that the lack of Co-op was sad... I then remember what happened the last time they tried any kind of multiplayer in the form of AC5/Verdict Day and once again mentally thanked them for choosing the safer approach of just sticking to what worked.
Iirc the wheel tank legs are faster than any other AC in the game. So it just drives away from you while pummeling you and you physically cannot catch it. Even if you manage to get close, it requires you to burn all of your fuel boosting. Meanwhile the tank has high attitude stability and hasn’t used their boost. They can dodge whatever you have to throw at them, as well as pummel you with weapons now that you’re out of energy. The META being dual shotguns means this counter META has become extremely common. I continuously run into these “keep a distance and pummel you” builds. (I guess they’re salty about dual Zimmerman.) I love my customized melee mech but it’s getting devoured by this counter-META. So are we all supposed to just counter-build each other? Doesn’t that take the fun out of customization? The only thing to do after completing the game is clunky PVP lobbies where everyone is counter picking. So you either lose 90% of your matches, spend forever dodging games against rough matchups, or bite the bullet and become a meta slave. Forget winning with your favorite close ranged mechs because they simply don’t cut it. I think there needs to be a rebalance so the game is less rock-paper-scissors. Also it desperately needs some form of co-op. Preferably multiple forms. Even in dark souls your buddy can summon you to help you with a boss. I still think it’s a good game but these are some of my issues that make it unfun for me.
If someone wants the "Old" Armored Core play-style, it's called MODS...don't like the mechanics or graphics, MODS. I myself do enjoy this as is and once i beat it i may try some mods for more replayability. Co-Op would be nice extra stuff though but it's no big deal; someone will make a mod for it sooner or later like they did for Elden Ring.
The takes on AC6 are wild, I don't think I have ever seen a community rip itself apart like the AC6 community on, especially steam. From elitism to people that simply refuse to improve or adept up to wanne be Game Reviewer. The game is also not extremely hard as some claim, it is a challenge to beat some bosses/levels, but mostly it was fairly easy.
Bad takes on this game are very funny. Anyone could have expected the outcome, fromsoft isn't perfect, but they do know what works, and what doesn't. However, the attacks aimed towards "graphics" and "story" fall short completely. Graphics? It looks just fine. Story? Yeah, short missions, but it's hard to miss what's generally happening unless you just suck at the game. Changes can be made to make it a greater game than it is, for sure. And it's important for us to point issues out. But in the long run, fromsoft just revamped excitement for ac/mech games in general, because they saw the void. I'm happy they did it, out of any other developer.
I enjoyed the video and here's my 2 cents. If I wanted Sekiro with robots I would have bought Sekiro. Today I dub Armored Core 6 Mechkiro. Not a terrible game, as a long time fan of Armored Core since the original PS1 titles, I love this game. But I admit i abhor the people who decided to put the new stagger system into AC6. While not terrible I have noticed the balance between the enemy ai and player is vastly one sided in the AIs favor. Even with the exact same build which can be uploaded if you beat the AC in the arena. The stagger system while interesting is probably the only thing I really hate in AC6. But overall I still give this game a solid 8 out of 10. I will admit the stagger system is more me cause I spend half the time staring at the stagger bar than what I'm actually doing, its also why i disliked Sekiro, cause I did the same thing back then too. Overall I think Fromsoft has successfully revived the series at the perfect time. Here's to a successful future for all AC fans! We finally got a new game after a decade of silence!
Really can't blame you for not liking the new stagger system since it really changes up the flow of combat. But it's great to hear that you are still enjoying the game regardless! Let's hope we don't have to wait this long for the next game (or probably more likely expansion to AC6).
I do disagree one thing on the issue of it being 'souls-like', however its disagreement going both ways. Its not necessarily specific mechanics that make a game souls-like, its more their manner of implementation and direction along with how everything apart from the mechanics are handled on the presentation side. And in this, as someone who loves the game, I have to say that AC6 is undeniably heavily influenced by later souls games. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, I don't agree with most of the mechanical decisions and have a general dislike for everything that stems from it (The stagger system in particular I take issue with) but that's not for lack of quality or purpose. In terms of presentation, up until you reach the Ice Fields, it very much does feel like Dark Core 1 rather than Armored Core 6, especially with what the game teaches you to value and the backseat AC's take to these other bosses. But to its credit, around that point it reigns itself back in and we're going almost pure Armored Core and it doesn't stop with some exceptions, but even then those exceptions still are presented in a manner more congruent with the classic image of AC. HC's are a prime example of this, they're Black Knights that have inhaled an entire shipping container of Colombian marching powder but their delivery is such that they avoid being out of place like Balteus, the Sea Spider, and the Smart Cleaner, they even sorta have a direct parallel in AC4. Frankly, if anything, the PCA's arrival injects a solid chunk of Gundam into the game's feel which stays around long after their relevance wanes and its a vibe I never knew I needed in my life until it happened. Also sidenote, I don't know if it was intentional but LC's seem to harken back to a very old concept in Armored Core that last appeared in AC2: The General Purpose Armored Core. Put simply it is a weaker stripped down version of an AC meant for mass production and lacking customization, functionally its a super MT with the appearance of an AC. Its pretty neat. To cap this off, you can really tell they were working on this for a long long time by how the tone and deliver shifts between chapters, not to mention the depth of detail everywhere you look. Enough to make me wonder, wtf is laying on this game's cutting room floor? Has to be enough for an expansion in its own right.
Hope you enjoyed the video. In between my big uploads I will also upload some stuff like this to keep the content rolling! And also just to clarify, this video is not meant to be taken to seriously, it's just some harmless fun. ;)
Just another Rant Episode for you. Who's to say you're not harming anyone. ? lol That's all subjective at a cost in the end.
@@AwakenShoguntechnically the linear rifles can be used as snipers
@@shootercade1299 Not really. In the old AC games they have tremendous range and shoot 1 bullet that does tremendous damage at extreme range. The linear rifles are mid range weapons like the rifles. And the first one you can get is a rather short range weapon since you need to be in shotgun range for it to not bounce off more armored targets. Sniper Rifles in AC games have always been more similar to Rustys Railgun than a short/mid range rifle that you can charge for more damage. I mean the linear rifles in AC6 has the same ricochet falloff regardless of whether you charge them or not.
Not just snipers, where are my shoulder mounted chain guns? I want to come sliding up on my quads, blasting them with my shoulder guns.
@@Caralast Hallelujah, brother! Sniper rifles, sniper cannons, shoulder gatlings, vacuum cleaner legs all need to come back. Hopefully DLC will happen and add in all of these things from the old games.
"the game forces you to play one specific way"
False.
Agreed, the internet is very good at taking a term and just running with it until it almost becomes meaningless.
The fact that Armored Core pioneer allot of the mechanics dark souls uses makes it even more ironic

You are going to need the thrid playtrough too to get all logs!
I’m extremely surprised of how vocal are the users that don’t really like fromsoft games I suppose we gave them too much attention
You can see the difference of bad score and mid score in user reviews, the fact that bad score has higher percentage than mid score shows they review bomb the game or just hate fromsoftware for being "too good"
ps2 graphics ?? nah... those kids are never play PS2.....
Yeah, or like halo reach type firefight where you fight off enemy troops in ever increasing wave difficulty
@@0lemus0lent05 a coop wave survival would be awesome
@@Castle_Games yeah! And definately no defence target... just that the players only need to survive
Survival mode isn't that awesome if you think about it since you basically own the smaller enemies and putting bosses in coop outside their boss arenas wouldn't work
If they do coop what I would like to see is a tower mode for those who don't know what that is it's basically you start at the bottom on first floor with a weak mech like maybe jailbreak body parts and a basic kinetic gun and as you progress you either get a random selection of parts and have to choose 1 to replace the old one or you get cash "just for that run" to buy pieces and put slowly build your AC... Each floor is like a small arena missions and every 5 or 10 floors you get a boss, miniboss or AC "maybe even 4 ACs for a 4v4" if all players are killed the progress resets if one makes beats the floor the rest revive for the next one "maybe with a small penalty like less cash" the floors can be random or specific it doesn't matter
They can even make more than one tower each with a unique theme and the last one can be extremely hard to challenge skill ,teamwork and builds
There can even be a timer for leaderboards to see which team did the best "by team it can be just 2 players I don't mean that it has to be 4"

I literally NEVER played a Armored Core game, I also haven't played many souls games (only DS2 and Bloodborne) but this game feels pretty damn amazing, and its gotten me into the Armored core franchise and fromsoft as a whole.
If they remake ONIMUSHA people would say yo that’s souls like…… no Onimusha is like devil may cry just without the crazy combos.

Game's refreshingly old school
It's a new gen made with old gen philosophy and i say HELL YES to that
These are not the dumbest review for games I have seen. I am surprised that no one was screaming that it was pay to win.
If this game was made by EA, the resupply animation we've got in game would have been the lootbox opening animation lmao
I really would like to have a mini-map/radar function. The scan function and compass bar with red dots is not very intuitive. These are super-advanced machines, and they don't have radar? Come on.
They tried, but most players don't care for it or outright ignore it. So they trimmed it off.
I’ve played every souls game ever 200 plus hours in all of the recent fromsoft games. I can’t put this down.

I wish all these people who did refunds would let me get a free copy
I wish there were bonus missions (like a side story) for co-op PVE.
They just mad they aren’t able to turn fromsoftware into an animation studio
I hate the twitch viewer argument, i play games regularly, and i never watch twitch. I feel like it is just not a good representation of popularity
Still trying to find out what pool streamers and empty chair reactions have to do with armored core
I would love it if they took the old armored cores and remastered them and offered them as a set.
My only criticism was the lack of parts and part variety. But it's already a ton of fun to play around with what we have. Build diversity is more of a skill and game understanding issue. I don't really use gatlings, songbirds, needles. And I S-ranked pre-nerf bosses multiple times with different builds.
Wait what bosses did they nerf?
Balteus, Sea Spider, and CEL240.
Based on my observations:
-Balteus' missile tracking and frequency of flame sword usage was lessened.
-Sea Spider's laser tracking and frequency of melee attack was lessened.
-CEL240's frequency of sword slash usage, it's projectile speed, and cross slash tracking was lessened.
These are just my own observations based on fighting them so much before and after nerfs.
Just finished the True Ending after 60-70 hours, loved it the whole time.
Just remember that Demon's Souls is just a fantasy Armored Core 😊
Dodging, and attacking are mechanics of every AC game. Ever heard of action game mechanics that are ubiquitous?
What I dislike the most is how much the game is built around stagger. I am aware stagger existed in previous titles, I just don't like how strong it is in 6. To me it feels like easy mode when I can make a target hold still for a couple of seconds. I do miss not having radiators, weight distribution, back and side jet choices, and a more complex energy management. I also think the tuning from AC:4A is the best form because of how specific you can get with your bonuses. I also miss the multitude of other stats they left out such as bullet velocity and better target tracking via arms. Other than that I've been having a total blast with the game, and it nice to not play with the orbies AC and have real colors.
doesn’t firearm specialization stat on arms improve tracking though
@@pastatsap yes it does its just kind of a hidden stat ( or most ppl don't see it)
Stagger is the cause of pretty much all of AC6's problems.

God I can literally hear him going on another rant about them
I had straight up never even same or heard of Armored Core before about a year before the initial announcement trailer just by chance when watching a video that mentioned Fromsoft used to make them.
That's exactely what I'm thinking too, I think that the Armored Core franchise has a bright future ahead of itself.

Ye i was bumed about the lack o parts too but i let it slide cause again... reboot.
AC6 does definitely feel like something that would have come out during the PS2 era and that's part of what makes it so great.
Half the complaints are split between either too much or too little like dark souls.
I love it! Been messing with ac before people got hip. (Ps1). I would like to see weapon arms return
However I really dont understand the insane toxicity vehind some of these reviews, it feels like most of them dont actually know what Armored Core used to be
I bet most of these reviewers got stuck with Iudex Gundyr and asked for a refund right away. 😆
That replenishing health bit..
THANK YOU finally somebody said It
Add to that
Not every from software game has to be a souls like by definition
Spoil or speculation
Not gonna lie the last ending made me think It was all related but It might have been just a visual nod to the other games
Only need 19 more s tier missions and I’m officially done with everything in the game honestly best 60$ I’ve spent❤
Play NG+ and NG++
@@solaireofastora6173I think they did.
Some people keep including the whole mech genre along with armored core, but armored core is really the only mech game I was ever interested in, lol
I think the biggest thing that makes me laugh is when people say “this isn’t Armored Core because they changed/didn’t add X”
Now, there are some truths to a lot of these, namely optionals and tuning; but as stated, OST kind of replaces that.
…That would make Rusty Sad…UNFORGIVABLE!!!
You can't equip whatever loadout and play the same way Everytime. The forced playstyle is just the easiest muscle brain way to play. Heavy impact and staggers
9:45 huh ? I dont remember an estus in king's field or whatever
I hate that OS Tuning is a general thing and not tired to each build. Also really miss gun arms.
"dodge oriented" Sir, the revolutionary war museum is over there, we have trajectories to predict.
It's not cheese. Cheese is a slang term for exploiting a game. It's an intended weapon. Just because it's strong doesn't mean it's cheese my dude.
Coral Shield is literally a goated parry. Idk why people are so butthurt.
The flaws are not enough to push me away- this game is amazing and I will be playing the hell out of it for a long time. Especially if they support it with dlc content.
With Dragon_Fly I was like "hmm this guy dislikes a lot of stuff- TITANFALL? HELL NAH KILL THIS MAN"
Sword swinggin should have been more swings until it overheated. Some gundam games are like that.
I, personally, welcome From Software's approach of making the first Armored Core game in a literal decade as approachable to newcomers as possible, while still keeping the best aspects of all of the games around, _and carefully making sure to not bring in any of the bad aspects from their previous experimentation, like the Overheating system from Last Raven, or enemies having resistances that can reach full immunity to specific damage types like in AC5/Verdict Day._
The way I see it, AC6 is From Software's way of both bringing the old AC formula up to modern standards, as well as setting the new baseline of what to expect from the series moving forward.
Very well said! I agree with a lot of the things in here.
The most painful review was the one calling the bosses bullet sponges. I can delete the “Melania of armored core” with a single pilebunker.
Wait you can attach two of them?
@@doomsdaylamb No, just used singular for dramatic effect
Honestly I'm just disappointed you can't equip two plasma blades
