You're not tbe only one out there. I just bought one from my local Home Depot for $20.00.
This one said it is self polinating. But, I would have been disappointed had I not watched this video and learned that sellf politating does not mean no action on my part. I thought self polinating meant it doesn't need anything. It just self polinates. And at night? WoW. I'm so glad I watched your video. Thank you so much. You produce great videos.

Thank you Cindy! That's my goal. To explain what I'm doing and is little steps as possible but also give enough knowledge about the plant and its needs.

You mentioned you need to have two plants flowering at the same time... but when you pollinated it you used its own flower. ... so do you actually need two? (also a paintbrush works good for pollinating!)
    two

I just order total of 4 orders from ebay. 1 Set of 4 cuttings and the other 3 sets 2 cuttings per order. Planning to start with 4, 20 lbs pots. Learning as much as I can about growing your own dragon fruit. My family and I love dragon fruit but 5 to 7 bucks each...
    Thanks for the video.

I'm certain that my dragon fruit will pollinate from within itself because the cuttings flew from San Diego via USPS. Last year I was waiting for the 2 flowers but somehow it decided to skip the blooming part and just detached, then fell off after the temperature dropped from 87 degrees to 57 degrees by 11pm. I live in San Jose CA. Right now there's 7 buds visible but shall I just put a cover because it's doing it again today it was windy then came down to 55 from 79. It already making my other plants so confused except for my lemon grass. I've seen also stages of preparation like trimming new growth. Must the dragon fruit flower buds should be kept dry?

My dragon fruit bloomed and I did try hand pollination but unfortunately it did not work out. Could you please tell the most appropriate moment the hand pollination must be carried out.

Any time its fully open after you see the pollen loosen up and you can tap it and see it fall

Take a piece of your plant and propagate a new one. Now you can have two of the same plant and they can pollinate eachother!

If the plant isn't self fertile then that won't work

Well… I love their flower! Who knew!? Well… ONE NIGHT?! Hummm… Well, the cactus in our front only bloom a couple days. It’s probably because the blooms are so beautiful. And maybe it has no confidence in itself and is embarrassed by all the attention. Awe… I think I might take better care of mine.
