The past tense is the present and past perfect in Hebrew, and Hebrew has no continuous tenses. (I talked a little about the perfect tenses in lesson 26, but there's more to come in a few months.)
The past tense is the same in Biblical and Modern Hebrew. Some of the vocabulary used in this lesson is only in Modern Hebrew, and the conjunction ש (she) is not often used in Biblical Hebrew, usually in its place we use the lengthened אשר (asher).
