Thank you so much for watching, as a small channel it means the world to us! 🧡 What’s your dream way to spend the holidays? Would you ever celebrate it alone in the mountains like we did? ❄
For me celebrating Christmas is a big joy,we consume a little but exchanging presents is for us another way of expresing affection One day I might try your way ,it is a lovely way of celebrating too
I used to enjoy it more but the consumerist aspect is giving us a lot of anxiety to be honest! My stepsister has started gifting “experience vouchers”, for example going on a walk together, going to see a film together etc - I think it’s a really lovely way to connect with loved ones, in my opinion there’s no greater gift than time 🥰
I'm grateful to have finally found a channel that celebrates living simply without enduring the obligatory chunks of roasting flesh in every episode. Glad to have found you. I love watching off-grid living videos, and your life path is very in tune with mine. Happy to have found you! Good luck on your travels! I live in a redwood forest, and celebrated Yule with my favorite people (family).
Thank you for your kind words, glad you enjoyed the video! ☺️ I would love to visit the redwoods one day, Risi has been in the past and really enjoyed it 🌿
Thank you so much for your kind words Annelies! 🧡So there are a few aspects to this: Firstly, we haven't been anywhere cold enough for long enough - once it starts dropping to -5 degrees overnight we tend to move to lower elevations or further south. We also installed most of our pipes inside the van which keeps them warm - we have thick hemp insulation in our walls, floor and ceiling, so even when it dropped to -7 outside, our van didn't drop below 2 degrees (if we had had our heater on in the evening before we went to sleep, it would have stayed around 8 degrees which is a lot more manageable). Also, as a precaution we tend to take the water we need in the morning out of the tap the evening before a cold night, and store it inside the van (in our water jug and kettle). The reasoning for this is that by the time we need more water, any ice in the pipes will be unthawed, and it's worked so far!
Yes, I don’t know if you watched our last video but Heidi’s water bowl also froze over 😅 That was in -7 degrees though and her bowl was right next to the door!
Hi Jessica, I’ve just found your channel after following you on Instagram for a while :) your cinematography is so beautiful and you have lovely narration! I’m sure your channel will grow quickly on TH-cam If you don’t mind me asking, how easy did you find it to travel in the EU for more than 90 days with your partner being British? I am a British + EU citizen with a British partner and we’ve been thinking about travelling/living in the EU in the next couple years, but it seems super difficult visa-wise in most countries unless married! I was wondering if you had any advice. Thanks!
Thank you so much for your kind words Alana, it means a lot! 🧡 Risi and I are married and I’m an EU citizen so we don’t have to deal with the 90-day rule as long as he’s travelling with me. My understanding is that you’ll be fine in most countries if you have a registered civil partnership, but some countries don’t recognise it and it also depends on your country of origin, so it can be complicated! The best thing to do is to contact the EU via Europe Direct and ask about your rights taking into account your personal circumstances. Hope this helps! ☺️🌿
100% agree with the over-consumerism of Western Christmas - it's truely missing the point of the time of the year and represents glutony in my view. Much better to listen to the natural cycles of the solstace and the land.
Completely agree, the pressure to buy and consume around Christmas makes me really anxious to be honest, and celebrating quietly in the woods felt much more natural to us! ☺️🌿
Hey beutiful people,if you want you can come to visit me & my boy-friend in Umbria, that is in Italy, middle Italy and we will really love to meet you. Were a couple of a 20 and 23 and I feel like it would be so inspiring and beautiful to meet you three, idkwhy but I feel a strong connection with you since I found you in Instagram. Thank so much for being you anyways cause this help so much people.🙏🏼

Wow, it was amazing video. I think it's the best way of rest for two people. You can communicate a lot and nothing will distract you
Thank you so much Eugene, glad you enjoyed it and I agree - it was definitely nice to fully relax for a few days! ☺️❄️
I love your new channel. It has a calming effect, which I really need sometimes! Stunning scenery of Europe too. Just beautiful ❤️
Thank you so much Rosanna, it brings me a lot of joy to document our travels so comments like yours mean a lot! 🌿🧡

100% reg flesh. It ruins the chill cottagecore vibe for me and there's not that many channels that don't do it/show it.
We’re both 99% plant-based and don’t eat meat and dairy, which is why you’ll very rarely see non-vegan food in our videos ☺️
Heidi is such a sweet girl... she's adorable!
Thank you Elena 🥰 We adopted her 4 months ago now and it’s been beautiful to see her grow into a confident little adventure pup! 🐶
The woodland spot a little lower down the mountain really did feel like Lothlorien. I was ready to see Galadriel in a tree any moment.
The way the leaves were slowly falling off the trees and drifting in the still air reminded me so much of it too 🍂🧡
😊❤
Lovely video ,greetings from Spain
Thank you so much! We’ll be spending some time in Spain this winter, it’s a great country for van life 🥰🌿

What a wonderful life you are living 🌲🧡
Your van is gorgeous, and so is Heidi 🥰
Just wondering, how did you keep your water from freezing ?

@ That’s great! I was just wondering, because one night, our heater in our van wasn’t working, and the water in our doggies’ water bowl froze 😬

@ I was about to watch that one 😁👍🏻
