I don't think it's my place to speak rn, but whatever, lemme tell you my story, bc ik no one else will listen, So, the story starts this summer at summer camp, I'm a secondary group leader and he wasn't in my group (for context, I was the youngest secondary group leader ever, so he's older than me), buttttt fortunately for me, my bestie was a participant and he was in her group, so when I came to talk to her, he was usually there, so one day, I struck up a conversation with him, and then we became friends, during the rest of the week we got really close so we exchanged contact informations, we stayed friends online for about 3 months, then came my birthday (October 31st) and I was in the country and coincidentally he was also in town at the time (I live in another country, so we wouldn't be able to see each other all the time and hang out on the weekends) so basically, we wanted to meet up and bring along my friend that was in his group as well, mainly because she had became a mutual friend, and bc my dad didn't want me to go meet him alone, tbh, he's just one year older than me, but my dad is very overprotective over me lol, so because my friend backs off from the plan last minute bc she got sick, I wasn't able to go out with him, so we didn't see each other in about 4 months, only on voice calls and texts, and after I got back from visiting my country, (his also) I thought everything was right, but it wasn't, bc not even 2 weeks after that he just ghosted me, and didn't even read my messages, he didn't text back, he didn't show any signs of existence, and now I'm worried I might have done something to either upset him, or he got bored of me, sooooo idk what to do now, and I'd appreciate any advice and/or if someone could please explain to me, why the heck does everyone do this to me, and leave me 😭

@ Not really, but I think the change happened for him over time when I drew myself away from him. Don’t get me wrong, I never stopped liking him and he was one of my closest friends, but it went from chasing after him to walking beside him.
All of our friends wanted us to date so we got put in some awkward situations. There were a lot of tense, awkward, or pure awful times, but we just talked through everything and gave space when needed. Mostly, just trust your gut. Don’t give up on him but don’t depend on him.

So, the story starts this summer at summer camp, I'm a secondary group leader and he wasn't in my group (for context, I was the youngest secondary group leader ever, so he's older than me), buttttt fortunately for me, my bestie was a participant and he was in her group, so when I came to talk to her, he was usually there, so one day, I struck up a conversation with him, and then we became friends, during the rest of the week we got really close so we exchanged contact informations, we stayed friends online for about 3 months, then came my birthday (October 31st) and I was in the country and coincidentally he was also in town at the time (I live in another country, so we wouldn't be able to see each other all the time and hang out on the weekends) so basically, we wanted to meet up and bring along my friend that was in his group as well, mainly because she had became a mutual friend, and bc my dad didn't want me to go meet him alone, tbh, he's just one year older than me, but my dad is very overprotective over me lol, so because my friend backs off from the plan last minute bc she got sick, I wasn't able to go out with him, so we didn't see each other in about 4 months, only on voice calls and texts, and after I got back from visiting my country, (his also) I thought everything was right, but it wasn't, bc not even 2 weeks after that he just ghosted me, and didn't even read my messages, he didn't text back, he didn't show any signs of existence, and now I'm worried I might have done something to either upset him, or he got bored of me, sooooo idk what to do now, and I'd appreciate any advice and/or if someone could please explain to me, why the heck does everyone do this to me, and leave me 😭
