I love those books. I avoid fussy cutting by copying them onto clear matte adhesive full page labels. I love to layer onto text. Etc. the possibilities are limitless.
Ceri, I hate fussy cutting my hands are so sore for doing all day. Yes, I totally agree about the books for cutting out, it's not easy. I have been feeling out of sorts today too, I blame the weather, thank you sharing, I love what you have created tonight, I will give it a try tomorrow, take care.
The sound of paper, any sound, is music to my ears. After today (driving around from one dr. visit to another for my husband), I’m just setting back, glass of wine in hand and enjoying. I have a hard time cutting up paper books like these. Eventually just have to do it. As always, thanks for sharing.
I live in a very small town in Eastern Kentucky. The neighborhood where I live is perfect for trick or treaters so families come from all over the county. Because it can be quite expensive, I started buying the bags of cheap popsicles to give out, and it turns out the kids absolutely love them. In less than one hour, I ran out at 325 popsicles, one per kid. Next year, I’m buying enough for 1,000 just to be on the safe side. No way I would fussy cut those images with all of the fiddly bits. I think you came up with a great way for using these books.
These are absolutely fabulous! I love autumn and the beautiful colors. Halloween is so fun and Thanksgiving is truly my favorite. I like the fun of the kids at Halloween and the sentiment of Thanksgiving. I like Christmas because it's Christmas but I'm not a fan of the commercialization. Anyway...Nice job. These turned out great. ❤❤❤
Good morning dear Ceri, 12:45 am here in Alberta, beautiful master board. I like that you added the sticker labels while it was still a whole piece. Oh yes, the cards and tags turned out amazing. Thanks so much for sharing, hugs and blessings for you 💙🙏
I've even used images I didnt want to fussy cut, and I put rolled up paper scrolls at edges to hide the edge. Or use an edge that's wavy instead of straight. Lots things can do to avoid intricate fussy cutting. Take care.
You encourage me to use my purchases and not hoard them. I usually tear the pages out of my collage books right away now and then I am more likely to use the images. I keep the books in a box of hanging file folders so I can lift the lid and search for what I want fairly easily. I have a second box of hanging folders that I use for books that I can reproduce images from, like those published by Dover publishing. Lots of their books contain copyright free images, and I can use the scanner with my printer to resize images as needed.
The books are cute. I love them. Your items look great. I think I resorted to cutting a boarder instead of cutting close to image. Then I covered edges. And inked edges of ones not covered. They could be used as a stamp sized pieces. I refuse to toss out great images. Take care, be safe.
I don't mind fussy cutting so much, I do hate white borders. Oh and I don't do trick-or-treaters at all. I live in a very rural area in kind of a spooky house so nobody comes by anyway LOL
I'm a member of the "dislike fussy cutting" club. I have a couple of books of wonderful steampunk images, and fussy cutting them annoys me greatly. 😡 These are wonderful tags. 😀
Ceri, loved how the master board and the pieces you made from it turned out! As for those 2 books, they would make happy mail for someone who likes fussy cutting or like me has a silhouette camio with the additional program that allows me to “fussy cut” things electronically 😊.
Love this video. I have hand tremors so I have problems fussy cutting. I too hate having white borders around my images so I'll be trying this. Thanks.
Hi Ceri…..I am with you with the cut and collage books. I’ve purchased a couple of them, and I don’t like to fussy cut all those tiny details, and was thinking of using the backs like you did here. I never get trick or treaters any year, and it looked like my neighbors weren’t getting any either. I’m in an area where the houses were built in the 40’s, and what parents here in WA State do is to drive their kids to the new, much more expensive houses, and they go thru those neighborhoods…..better houses = better candy mentality. Love, love, love what you created today. Most definitely now, I am going to use the back pages of the images.
Two minutes into the video and I want to comment, I definitely agree with your fussy cutting comments. I bought a book of ephemera this past summer and the images all have a grey area around each image. That kind of helps but the images are too close together. I have not used it much, unfortunately.
Some images are difficult to cut, I tear them out (torn is easier to blend than cut)and glue them with modpodge, also a coat on top to seal it. Then I let it blend in with the project using acrylic paint or inkt. But I am sure this is not new for you❤ . Love the project, great idea, inspiration for this weekend!
I don't mind fussy cutting, I purchased "Extraordinary things to cut out and collage" book by Maria Rivans. This is a good book to try out. And yes just like you I live in London, we had Divali Fireworks on Halloween and not one single child knocked on my door........ yes I am still eating the sweets 🤓
You could boil water and I would watch your video! I loved the tags and journal cards!
Same
Enjoyed, it was nice to just relax, watch and listen. Thank You
Ceri : that was fun! And you’re set for next year. Carol from California
I love it when you make up stories about your creations! These turned out so cute! Love it!
Thank you! 😊
Wow, very creative! I love them!😊
Thank you! 😊
The Black Kitty 🐈⬛ with the autumn leave 🧡 was Just The perfect choice. My favourite by far!
I had the same kind of day I really understand
I always enjoy your videos they are always relaxing and I always learn something from you😊thank you
I dont enjot fussy cutting, but i love the results. I enjoyed this vid.
This was really spookilous! 🧙♀️ 👻...loved how they all turned out
You have inspired me to make a master board. Love what you made. Thank you for taking us along.

Fabulous use of those collage books 🎉

You might try spring action scissors for fussy cutting to prevent your hand getting tired. I have Fiskars brand but there are several.
I love that you put the black cat 🐈⬛ with you little leaf🍂 That one is my favorite 💕 Thanks for sharing👋

Wow thats a busy trick or trick area.
Very nice Ceri. Very smart idea
Thank you! 😊

Fussy cutting should be an Olympic sport😂❤❤

Now that sparked an idea I could use the images to revamp some postage stamps into Halloween stamps.
Gorgeous colours. TFS Cheers

That was fun xx I'm now into the regular practice of making a masterboard every time I finish off a project.
It’s a good practice.
So lovely 🥰
Great use of the images Ceri❤ love how the fuzzy cut pieces, the stickers and the background merge in one incredible design. I’m 64 too 😊
The perfect age Myriam.
These are really nice and spooky, I enjoyed (as always) your thought process. Wishing you a great weekend.
Thank you! You too Tonia
As always a very enjoyable near hour!! But yes, I agree, fussy cutting is not my thing either! LOL I cut doodads off and draw them back on if need be!
