Hi, I'm a 3rd Gen F-Body fan! My first car was an '84 Z-28 Camaro when I turn 17 and I loved it! But being a full time HS senior and working part time back in 1990 I had to trade it in for a more economical car...I know I should've stored it somewhere but I really need the money to put toward college. Now I'm a ripe old age of 47 and I have the money to do a project like you do. Can you point me in the right direction on where I can look to find 3rd Gen F-Body? Camaro or Firebird? Nice work the car came out beautiful. I still find it impossible to believe you only paid two grand for that car when you acquired it. I bought an 89 formula with 45000 original miles and I paid almost 10 grand for it. These 3rd gen's have become collectibles, they are antiques now and becoming very hard to find one that would have low mileage and are in excellent condition regardless of whether it has a 350 or 305 a TPI or a TBI. I was really never a fan of the cars that they started putting airbags in and I'm really not a fan of the fourth Generations, not because they're not great performance-wise because they are, it's because they designed those vehicles to appeal to women, basically feminized them because they realized that the market share was greater coming from the female populace. (I know because I worked for General Motors at the time) third Generations were much more masculine although at the time they really weren't offering powerful power plants other than the 87 GTA with the 5.7 with 245 horsepower which is plenty for the street. Anyway if you get another vehicle like that for two grand you don't have to do a thing do it you can flip it to me and I'll give you a grand on top of it Without You lifting a finger.
