He Never fails to screw it up when it comes to Nemophila !! ..
Haraguchi-san with the jet black hair. Perfect Japanese style cuteness! 😍
100% I always prefer the natural jet black hair...
Great, showing covers instead of their own songs. Brilliant.
Nice, using irony instead of speaking out more clear. Brilliant!
Anyhow, several of their covers are very good and sometimes it works just fine.
Joel have used it several time with good result and it, kind of, worked fine this time also.
@@rolandkarlsson7072Can't please everyone can we ? I enjoy their covers as much as their originals !
Don't worry about the haters Joel just keep doing your thing brother
That was fun and going to be a blast when you show him a live of the band doing there thing i suggest some thing a bit heaver LOL .
He didn't even hint he was going to do another Nemophila song, original or cover..
Really hate people commenting how easy the song is for them. Whether a song is easy to play or not has nothing to do with how good it is and no song should be written purely for the pleasure of showing off (maybe why I keep getting tired listening to a Lovebites album even though I enjoy them in small doses very much).
I think it's cool that you keep showing your guests Nemophila covers of bands they toured with. It's a nice connection that's being build between the guest and the band.
Yeah. Its a good song but it is also easy. Nothing wrong with an easy song. But, if you have instrumental monsters and a very capable singer, then it might itch in the fingers to tell your well grounded meaning to the guy that has chosen this lame stuff. But, that's the time tio sit on your hands and listen to the beautiful sounds the ladies make, and decide that - it is not the end of the world.
Just remember guys, you tour with this band there is a good chance you have a "kid wrangler" in the entourage. Drummer has two kids sing one and well when all the band aunties are on stage.... Try that with Walk Off the Earth where all three of front couple's kids have been on the road since conception and now are their own band, with oldest in like grade 5
Nemophila playing this track is somehow like driving a Ferrari only by using the reverse gear 😉
Yeah, but the did drive that Ferrari backwards with style!
Some skills is necessary to do that. And Hazuki had some chops!
@@rolandkarlsson7072 That‘s true. I played this song pretty often myself when i was young. But of course the ladies do it much better! I just wanted to say that this is not the perfect track to show the band‘s skills …
Funny (in the sense of : weird) to see the negative comments. I mean, sure that's definitely a very very easy song for them to play. But the beauty of that cover lays in the fact that it perfectly suits Mayu's voice. And with quite a few covers they have done it's one of those song where their cover is, to me, much more fun than the original.
You always to have a first step in something, and I understand the way of testing the water with the covers they have done.
I am an inconditional fan, as it's my preferate Japanese metal band of them all, but what many peeps that like NEMOPHILA may not understand is that their music is not always for everyone. So a softer first impression with their covers instead of full Mayu's harsh vocals, and some of their heavyer stuff is I guess a very good idea.
I understand the will to show them playing covers of bands he worked for but franckly it's disapointing you present them as a cover band which also has (great) original material - it's the total opposite, an original band which also does covers for fun. It doesn't give him any idea of how the band really sounds like.
I kind of disagree. They started as a cover band, because they were only jamming together as friends. They had no plans to start a band. They have lots of totally banger covers when they were chilling in Tamu's rehearsal studio. Unfortunately, this one is not one of their more interesting ones. It also was not 100% live. Most of their covers are live. But here it was (partly?) play back.
Of course. Today it is more interesting to show their originals. But, many of their covers are so good that they clearly are their own rendition and often are better than the originals musically as they are superb musicians.
@@rolandkarlsson7072 I agree they STARTED as a cover band, but they have three albums of original material now. They mostly kept on recording covers in studio because of covid (and it wasn't a bad idea).
@@realdocloco OK - I really have no argue with that, except that I really love their covers. Some of them are spectacular. Therefore I am a bit annoyed when people complain about reactions to covers. Even the best reactors react to their covers. Now, of course, some covers are a bit simple, like this one, then showcasing Nemophila with this cover might be a bit non optimal. The best you can do is to show a cover, that suites the one reacting, and then also show an original. But, if you show an original then you have the choice of live or MV. They have made som stellar MV, superb production. If you show a live then this skill is missed. They are totally different in MV and live. So, you really have to show three songs. 1. Cover 2. Live original. 3. MV original. And then, they play different styles. Most new ones is in a hard style with harsh vocals. But, they have other styles.
@@rolandkarlsson7072 I NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHY PEOPLE THOUGHT THEY WERE TOO GOOD TO LISTEN TO A GREAT COVER BAND. I AM NOT INTO GOING OUT AND SEEING A D.J. PERFORM. AND OF COURSE, HUGE ARTISTS CAN TURN A COVER INTO THEIR OWN HUGE HIT. I DON'T HAVE THE TALENT TO MAKE A GREAT REACTION CHANNEL SO I TRY NOT TO GIVE JOEL TOO MUCH GRIEF OVER HIS CHOICES. IT IS HIS ARTISTIC VISION POURED INTO HIS CHANNEL. BTW, THE FACT THAT I CARED SO MUCH SHOWS HOW IMPRESSED I AM WITH HIS GUEST. 🤘🤘🤘
Simple song they can play in their sleep. They looked bored. Should have played his friend a concert live video of them.
It seems almost that they fall asleep while playing this track 😉
@@stand.and.deliver.5 I think you shall look again. They look awake, and are smiling. Why on earth should they voluntarily choose to play something they think is boring? They did those covers for fun.
@@rolandkarlsson7072 It was meant more in a sarcastic way that this song is no challenge for them. But I really have the impression that except of Saki and Mayu they enjoy this one less than most of their other covers. And I did not watch this cover for the first time today. This even was the first video of them that I did show to my wife after I’ve found Nemophila in 2021. But that’s another story, we both had tickets for the same Bon Jovi show when we had our first date 20 years ago …
These covers were good rehearsing for them. Too easy to play, though..And still most of these covers are better than originals. That shows how talented these amazing ladies are 🔥🤘❤️
Too easy for them !!
You are right. That was one of the first songs that I chose for learning guitar when i was young. Of course the ladies play it better, but they cannot show their talent with this one …
Yuck. You played one of the worst Nemophila covers they done. Don't care what your guest thought of that cover. Love Nemophila but not that cover.
*BIG DAY 2/2/24:* The Warning is releasing a new *official* song. Either *Sick* or *Hell You Call A Dream.* They're not saying which one.
Warning 🤢🤢🤮🤮👎👎
He always does this. Picks the least interesting material to "show" people. He seems very ignorant of the band in general, if not music in general
.
@@johnbedinghaus2390 Actually, I think he tries to choose a song that fits the reactor. And Nemophila have so many good rock covers. And his friends is in American rock business, more or less. Its not strange. BTW I listen 50/50 to Nemophila originals and covers.
せっかく見てもらえるチャンスなのにこの選曲なのかよ💦
Why choose covers , show their originals. They are past this stage and on to originals.
There is nothing wrong showing covers. He has made that several times with good result. He played Whole lotta Rosie for an AC/DC cover band guitarist and "Detroit Rock City" for a Kiss roadie. That worked just fine. Better than fine actually. Then the Kiss roadie wanted to see more and got two more reactions. A total success. And actually, it worked rather fine this time also. Not optimal, but he got intrigued with Mayos singing and Hazukis guitar playing. Hazuki can more and Saki also and Tamu, but ... I would not call this reaction bad.
Please tell Rocko that Mayo did NOT speak English at all when this was recorded.
Also - if possible - make him look at an original track.
(Comment: Sorry Joel, did not mean to start any negative thread.)
He rarely gives any pertinent information.. and when it comes to choosing Nemophila, 9 times out of 10 he chooses the entirely wrong song for an intro to this amazing band !
@@L.A55 I would not go so far. If you only want songs like Rise live, then I agree. But there is nothing wrong with Adabana and Shimi and Aces High. There is also nothing wrong with their MV. Live is fun, but not a must. Even the MV are almost always a one take. They are pros. You can have them all in a recording studio for one take recordings. Now, of course, for us fans, the new high quality live recordings are very nice. But my point is that they are not needed for a reaction. People that know their stuff see that also the MV are one take, and understand their skills, like Rocko saw Hazuki's skills here. He then missed Saki's skills of course as she played nothing spectacular.
@@L.A55 ME TOO WOULD HAVE CHOSEN AN ORIGINAL BUT JOEL KNOWS ROCKO PERSONALLY SO HE HAS INSIGHT INTO HIS PSYCHE. NO WAY IN H*LL HE WOULD EVER SAY THAT NEMO PLAYED IT BETTER THAN BON JOVI BUT I WOULD.
There is a difference for e.g. Lovebites. There generally live is to prefer as they are jaw-dropping live. No one think that anyone can do that live. It is, more or less, impossible to do. Extreme precision is needed. More than one reactor have totally wondered if what they see is reality. And, what Lovebites do wrong (IMHO) is to have too much post production on their MV. Then people think that what they see and hear partly is studio tricks.
So many fantastic original songs of theirs, so many great covers of good songs and you choose the most boring, turd of a cover they did.
They made it sound better than the original, but it's still an awful song
🤷♂
By FAR my least favorite cover they have done. They are wayyyyyyyy better then anything Bon Jovi has ever done.
They do a nice job but it is not their best cover at all. They have so much better covers and originals.
HOLY SMOKES YOU ARE GOING TO OOK??? ON PINS AND NEEDLES. "PAPER AIRPLANES " IS A GOOD SONG BUT A MASTERPIECE OF ARENA CONTROL ALA FREDDY MERCURY. "TAKE WHAT YOU WANT" = PURE EMOTION.
Boring boy band.
I have really tried. I have listened to everything that is suggested. As it is so hyped.
I tried "Take what you want". It started epic with almost silence. Very good! Then they started singing. And ... away was the magic. Boy band!
Nope, no love from me.
We will see what Joel chooses and how Rocko reacts.
Maybe the problem is me?
@@maxmaidiac2237
I love Ado, Ningen Isu, X Japan and Seikima II.
I was a bit mixed about Ado at first, but now I have listened to more - she is good.
Made a short listen of the other you suggest.
* DEVILOF: Nope, just noise to me. Not my thing.
* Galneryus: Interesting. Not sure I like the singer. Music wise - fantastic. Do they have instrumental stuff?
* Crystal Lake: Nope. Very good music, boring singing. Any instrumentals?
Find a new schtick. Or at least show these people some interesting stuff. Jesus.
