I have to mention that I chose to use "Segment Length" for some of these parameters to be able to control them in actual distances. The drawback is that with different sizes the panels change proportions. If we keep it with the Normalised parameter between 0 and 1 the proportions will be kept no matter how we stretch the panels. Depending on your goals you might want to do it one way or another.
whoever you are and whatever is your job I can only be amazed by your consideration at the beginning of the video where you mention that such a model done for architectural purpose or if it is going to be engineered would make a big difference in the way you do it. anyways, you only show the easy useless way at everybody else on the internet in general, but hey, you amazed me. would be nice to knownwhat is your job....respect
Hi Antonio, I'm a BIM manager with an architectural background. I personally believe that architects and designers should be aware from the start of the basics of engineering and manufacturing. That said during the design process these are easier to use and change - directly in the software used for the design without scripts or third party plugins. So I don't think this way is useless. It's for the architects, not for the facade engineers.
@@ingabbateantonio 1. It takes more time to do something while explaining. In reality it is a very quick way to model. 2. It is adaptable - easy to change and to apply to different places. 3. It is the right amount of detail needed in an architectural project. Once the design is satisfactory for the architects and clients the project will go for facade engineering. Most facade engineering is not done in Revit. That said I've helped a few projects to get ready for manufacturing panels from Revit with the help of Dynamo. I'm not sure this is always the best approach though and I'm not advocating for it.
@@RevitExperiments ok, it seems you know your things, and this makes me happy. I am a bit against the use of revit at the first phase, I find it too slow, but has some advantages, a thin is for sure, when I do the facade I go directly fo costum made families at already high level of details, we are talking about 500 parametric families, as the project moves on we change details very quickly, and this part is done with the structural engineers. this way we only rely on mainly 2 software. but, once again, I am not a fan of refit at the real first phase, but that is just me. anyways, you really rock man, specially cause I am sure you are holding back a lot as anyone else doing this kind of stuff on youtube. respect
@@ingabbateantonio Well this is Revit channel hah. But I agree Revit is now over 20 years old and it wasn't built for facade engineering even though with scripting and Dynamo we can twist it to place panels. I've had panels coming from SolidWorks and even from Inventor with documentation done in Revit. But these projects are still kinda of an exception more than a rule. But it's good to experiment. May I ask what software do you use and what do you do?
You can schedule Curtain Panels and adaptive components. You can also use shared reporting parameters to put individual sizes and dimensions in the schedule's fields. What exactly would you like to see in such a schedule? I might be able to do a video on this
@@RevitExperiments i would like to know about the process of each adaptive component schedule. when i upload the pattern type family to the project, individual adaptive family will not show in the schedule. Always show a pattern family name in that schedule.
@@rezwanulhoque117 So you place the adaptive components in a Family and then load that family in a Project? I think I can make a short video about that. Stay tuned
Why I can’t select each panel individual for editing? when i load the family on my mass model when I want to select each panel, whole surface was selected...🥺😢🤯🤯🤯
hi, i downloaded this file from your site and wanted to ask you as it is a model and not a family how can i fit this into a curtain wall panel for my project? between the various types of panel this file does not come out
I got to the part where I have to add the component to my family then it just won't work IDK why it just says that it cannot place it, and then when I tried again it won't load it to the family again. can you please help me? It gives me the error "Can't make type "adabtive profile componint".
Hi I have put here a detailed 43 minutes long video where I am showing everything. I am also giving out the file - look at the description. As much as I would like to help you - there is nothing much more that I can do through comments, without looking at what you have done. I do provide training programs, but that's another thing. I can only recommend watching closely for something you've missed - watch the order of the adaptive points and the size of the curve that forms relative to the size of the whole panel.
i also face the problem on how to place the component to the family it quite complicate how will i do that please i am a student and i want to use it for my design kindly help me out please anyone
@@ridwanmustapha1444 I tried to solve the problem and even tried to do it over but unfortunately I couldn't solve it, I ended up doing a simpler one that is not adaptive, maybe you can try that for your project.

using dynamo to make detailed facade engineering sounds very interesting, can you show us some examples of it?
