I was a toolroom apprentice at the Jaguar Cars engine plant at Radford, Coventry in 89.

This car was one of my favorites when I was a teen in the mid 70s when it came out.

Recently purchased a classic XJS V12 1989 with only 27,000 km on the clock!! Gulps petrol like no tomorrow but even looking at it puts a smile on my face!! My all time favourite motor!! Peace From London. 🙏🙏

Hello Bill, greetings from Canada. (not much room in the back for us Canadians????) Nice review of the Jag. I have one, an '89 as well. Lovely car to drive, and I have a mechanic in town that knows these cars, thank goodness. Well done as always !

Great vehicle, thanks Bill. Acoustic treatments needed for the new room. New lighting too.

Another AWESOME video by Bill Great Job! You have an amazing radio voice ! The reflection from the lights isn’t too bad . The design is so coool. One of my top 10 faves . Especially the back end bc the Jaguars today have TERRIBLE looking trunks . That rear window is something special . I wish I had a garage for it to protect it from the elements . Sadly so many have been junked due to the fact no one wanted to spend the gargantuan amount of money to fix these electrical nightmares . Good luck with the sale ! Keep them awesome videos coming I look forward to watching !!!

What electrical nightmares? I've had an '88 V-12 for 26 years and a 4 litre '93 for 18 years and neeither has needed more than batteries and servicing.

That’s the first Jaguar I ever saw as my neighbors boyfriend had one just like this when I was a kid. My dad pointed out to me how it was a 12 cylinder car which fascinated me.

Beautiful car, Bill. I usually consider the “7 car garage” as the requisite number of cars for my dream garage. I think this may be in it if I actually had to assemble it.

Mine was an '89, black on tan with tinted windows. Fantastic car when it ran, which was not nearly as often as I would have liked. That nightmare V12 drops valve seals with shocking frequency. DO NOT push that car when it's cold. You're going to drop valve seals! It has to warm up.

I think the flying buttresses were an aerodynamic feature to control airflow and reduce drag.

good night your car is spectacular, to another level. here in Panama there are several abandoned Jaguars, I ask you - is the restoration of one equal to yours viable?

Question: What is that silver lever handle next to the driver's seat you can see as soon as you open the driver's door???

    • @workflow1024
      @workflow1024 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

It’s the parking brake. I have one of these. The parking brake is an interesting contraption. If you push a button you can lay it flat back onto the floor so you can get in and out of the car easier.

And Enzo Ferrari is right. I think the Jaguar XJ-S is the most beautiful car ever designed. 👍

Enzo Ferrari said he thought the Jaguar E-Type was the most beautiful car ever made. Not sure what that has to do with the XJS.

Don't like this at all. The birds, dogs, leaf blowers, mist, heat, humidity, hurricanes, and general impending doom were the things that made Bill blow, and made Bills videos special. This is a decidedly claustrophobic review and has lost much. I had no idea until today how much the setting contributed to the review.

No adverbs apply. This is a bad, boring and inaccurate description of an XJS. No mention of the May head, of the race success (much more than the E Type) or of the "Grand Touring" target Jaguar achieved with this landmark vehicle. I have had E's, they were fun, handled like roller skates at speed, and rusted like Rolls Royces in the fog. Rarity is causal: either few were built or legions of those built were either destroyed in use or storage. The E was the Weimaraner of sports cars: beautiful, fast and ultimately pretty useless is you knew anyone who wanted to keep food in the house. It was uncompetitive on the track, unreliable in the city and only recently has achieved "Collector "status because the auction cabal had decided it would pump a few up and get them out of private garages - sending thousands of minions off thrashing the underbrush to find the poor things quietly rusting away. Stomp on the loud pedal in an E and do the same in an XJS and you'll probably survive the experience with more of a smile in the latter. Before the on-line brigades attack I should say I've built and rebuilt over 20 of each and would rather work on an XJS any day.

The lighting is shit, the floor should be shinny, not enough lumens, 5000k color on the bulbs and the white balance on the camera has to be set to match the lighting color in the room.... prefer hearing you fight about the garbage trucks driving by than hanging out in the crappy built “picture booth” 🤷‍♀️🙈 just keeping it real.... What happened to the hot blonde?
