I remember Vera with fondness when she was working in the 80's at the Royal Northern College of Music and I was a keyboard student. She was extremely supportive and I remember her being in the wings with me before I went on for my final diploma. I'm not sure I would have gone without her encouragement! Regrettably, we only discussed the D'Oyly Carte occasionally although I was a major fan and knew many of the members of the company.
